Fix LVDS output on Gen2 boards
Laurent Pincart says "This patch series fixes LVDS output support on the
Lager, Koelsh, Porter and Gose boards that broke in v4.17-rc1 due to the
combination of the R-Car DU LVDS driver rework and the DT move of all
on-SoC peripherals to a /soc node.
We could handle the problem in the R-Car DU LVDS DT backward compatibility
code, but that fix would only be used for v4.17 as in v4.18 the Gen2 DT
will move to the new LVDS DT bindings. I thus propose merging these three
patches in v4.17 already to fix the problem as this is the simplest
solution."

syzbot found a way to trigger an infinitie loop by overflowing
@offset variable that has been forced to use u16 for some very
obscure reason in the past.
We probably want to look at NEXTHDR_FRAGMENT handling which looks
wrong, in a separate patch.
In net-next, we shall try to use skb_header_pointer() instead of
pskb_may_pull().

Calling lockdep_print_held_locks() on a running thread is considered unsafe.
Since all callers should follow that rule and the sanity check is not heavy,
this patch moves the sanity check to inside lockdep_print_held_locks().
As a side effect of this patch, the number of locks held by running threads
will be printed as well. This change will be preferable when we want to
know which threads might be relevant to a problem but are unable to print
any clues because that thread is running.

debug_show_all_locks() tries to grab the tasklist_lock for two seconds, but
calling while_each_thread() without tasklist_lock held is not safe.
See the following commit for more information:
4449a51a7c281602 ("vm_is_stack: use for_each_thread() rather then buggy while_each_thread()")
Change debug_show_all_locks() from "do_each_thread()/while_each_thread()
with possibility of missing tasklist_lock" to "for_each_process_thread()
with RCU", and add a call to touch_all_softlockup_watchdogs() like
show_state_filter() does.

introduce available_idle_cpu()
In the following commit:
247f2f6f3c70 ("sched/core: Don't schedule threads on pre-empted vCPUs")
... we distinguish between idle_cpu() when the vCPU is not running for
scheduling threads.
However, the idle_cpu() function is used in other places for
actually checking whether the state of the CPU is idle or not.
Hence split the use of that function based on the desired return value,
by introducing the available_idle_cpu() function.
This fixes a (slight) regression in that initial vCPU commit, because
some code paths (like the load-balancer) don't care and shouldn't care
if the vCPU is preempted or not, they just want to know if there's any
tasks on the CPU.

That error vanishes a few patches later (in the RT queue) because wait.h
is then pulled in by other means. It does not seem to surface on !RT.

Threads share an address space and each can change the protections of the
same address space to trap NUMA faults. This is redundant and potentially
counter-productive as any thread doing the update will suffice. Potentially
only one thread is required but that thread may be idle or it may not have
any locality concerns and pick an unsuitable scan rate.
This patch uses independent scan period but they are staggered based on
the number of address space users when the thread is created. The intent
is that threads will avoid scanning at the same time and have a chance
to adapt their scan rate later if necessary. This reduces the total scan
activity early in the lifetime of the threads.
The different in headline performance across a range of machines and
workloads is marginal but the system CPU usage is reduced as well as overall
scan activity. The following is the time reported by NAS Parallel Benchmark
using unbound openmp threads and a D size class:

Similar observations are made for other thread-intensive workloads. System
CPU usage is lower even though the headline gains in performance tend to be
small. For example, specjbb 2005 shows almost no difference in performance
but scan activity is reduced by a third on a 4-socket box. I didn't find
a workload (thread intensive or otherwise) that suffered badly.

When reset flags in capsule header are not set, it means firmware
attempts to immediately process or launch the capsule. Moreover, reset
is not needed in this case. The current code will output log to indicate
reset.
This patch adds a branch to avoid reset log output when the flags are not
set.

setup_efi_pci() tries to save a copy of each PCI option ROM as this may
be necessary for the device driver for the PCI device to have access too.
On some systems the efi_pci_io_protocol's romimage and romsize fields
contain invalid data, which looks a bit like pointers pointing back into
other EFI code or data. Interpreting these pointers as romsize leads to
a very large value and if we then try to alloc this amount of memory to
save a copy the alloc call fails.
This leads to a "Failed to alloc mem for rom" error being printed on the
EFI console for each PCI device.
This commit avoids the printing of these errors, by checking romsize before
doing the alloc and if it is larger then the EFI spec limit of 16 MiB
silently ignore the ROM fields instead of trying to alloc mem and fail.

In order to use the helper macros that perform type mangling with the
EFI PCI I/O protocol struct typedefs, align their Linux typenames with
the convention we use for definitionns that originate in the UEFI spec,
and add the trailing _t to each.

For easier handling, match the known IA32/X64 error structure GUIDs to
enums.
Also, print out the name of the matching Error Structure Type.

Recognize the IA32/X64 Processor Error Section.
Do the section decoding in a new "cper-x86.c" file and add this to the
Makefile depending on a new "UEFI_CPER_X86" config option.
Print the Local APIC ID and CPUID info from the Processor Error Record.
The "Processor Error Info" and "Processor Context" fields will be
decoded in following patches.

Initialize UEFI secure boot state during dom0 boot. Otherwise the kernel
may not even know that it runs on secure boot enabled platform.
Note that part of drivers/firmware/efi/libstub/secureboot.c is duplicated
by this patch, only in this case, it runs in the context of the kernel
proper rather than UEFI boot context. The reason for the duplication is
that maintaining the original code to run correctly on ARM/arm64 as well
as on all the quirky x86 firmware we support is enough of a burden as it
is, and adding the x86/Xen execution context to that mix just so we can
reuse a single routine just isn't worth it.

definition for mixed mode
Mixed mode allows a kernel built for x86_64 to interact with 32-bit
EFI firmware, but requires us to define all struct definitions carefully
when it comes to pointer sizes.
'struct efi_pci_io_protocol_32' currently uses a 'void *' for the
'romimage' field, which will be interpreted as a 64-bit field
on such kernels, potentially resulting in bogus memory references
and subsequent crashes.

Rebooting while qedr is loaded with a VLAN interface present
results in unregister_netdevice waiting for the usage count
to become free.
The fix is that rdma devices should be removed before unregistering
the netdevice, to assure all references to ndev are decreased.

This driver supports EISA devices in addition to PCI devices, and relied
on the legacy behavior of the pci_dma* shims to pass on a NULL pointer
to the DMA API, and the DMA API being able to handle that. When the
NULL forwarding broke the EISA support got broken. Fix this by converting
to the DMA API instead of the legacy PCI shims.

Packet sockets allow construction of packets shorter than
dev->hard_header_len to accommodate protocols with variable length
link layer headers. These packets are padded to dev->hard_header_len,
because some device drivers interpret that as a minimum packet size.
packet_snd reserves dev->hard_header_len bytes on allocation.
SOCK_DGRAM sockets call skb_push in dev_hard_header() to ensure that
link layer headers are stored in the reserved range. SOCK_RAW sockets
do the same in tpacket_snd, but not in packet_snd.
Syzbot was able to send a zero byte packet to a device with massive
116B link layer header, causing padding to cross over into skb_shinfo.
Fix this by writing from the start of the llheader reserved range also
in the case of packet_snd/SOCK_RAW.
Update skb_set_network_header to the new offset. This also corrects
it for SOCK_DGRAM, where it incorrectly double counted reserve due to
the skb_push in dev_hard_header.

Currently the -EBUSY error return path is not free'ing resources
allocated earlier, leaving a memory leak. Fix this by exiting via the
error exit label err5 that performs the necessary resource clean
up.

"VFS: don't keep disconnected dentries on d_anon" had a non-trivial
side-effect - d_unhashed() now returns true for those dentries,
making d_find_alias() skip them altogether. For most of its callers
that's fine - we really want a connected alias there. However,
there is a codepath where we relied upon picking such aliases
if nothing else could be found - selinux delayed initialization
of contexts for inodes on already mounted filesystems used to
rely upon that.

Kbuild uses the first file as the name for KBUILD_MODNAME.
mtrr uses main.c as its first file, so rename that file to mtrr.c
and fixup the Makefile.

dev_err is becoming a macro calling _dev_err to allow prefixing of
dev_fmt to any dev_<level> use that has a #define dev_fmt(fmt) similar
to the existing #define pr_fmt(fmt) uses.
Remove this dev_err macro and convert the existing two uses to pr_err.
This allows clean compilation in the patch that introduces dev_fmt which
can prefix dev_<level> logging macros with arbitrary content similar to
the #define pr_fmt macro.

Since MOV SS and POP SS instructions will delay the exceptions until the
next instruction is executed, single-stepping on it by uprobes must be
prohibited.
uprobe already rejects probing on POP SS (0x1f), but allows probing on MOV
SS (0x8e and reg == 2). This checks the target instruction and if it is
MOV SS or POP SS, returns -ENOTSUPP to reject probing.

Since MOV SS and POP SS instructions will delay the exceptions until the
next instruction is executed, single-stepping on it by kprobes must be
prohibited.
However, kprobes usually executes those instructions directly on trampoline
buffer (a.k.a. kprobe-booster), except for the kprobes which has
post_handler. Thus if kprobe user probes MOV SS with post_handler, it will
do single-stepping on the MOV SS.
This means it is safe that if it is used via ftrace or perf/bpf since those
don't use the post_handler.
Anyway, since the stack switching is a rare case, it is safer just
rejecting kprobes on such instructions.

syzbot is reporting crashes after memory allocation failure inside
do_kexec_load() [1]. This is because free_transition_pgtable() is called
by both init_transition_pgtable() and machine_kexec_cleanup() when memory
allocation failed inside init_transition_pgtable().
Regarding 32bit code, machine_kexec_free_page_tables() is called by both
machine_kexec_alloc_page_tables() and machine_kexec_cleanup() when memory
allocation failed inside machine_kexec_alloc_page_tables().
Fix this by leaving the error handling to machine_kexec_cleanup()
(and optionally setting NULL after free_page()).

Currently it's not possible to set volume lower than 26% (it just mutes).
Also fixes this warning:
Warning! Unlikely big volume range (=9472), cval->res is probably wrong.
[13] FU [PCM Playback Volume] ch = 2, val = -9473/-1/1
, and volume works fine for full range.
