2018-06-01lightnvm: pass flag on graceful teardown to targetsJavier González
If the namespace is unregistered before the LightNVM target is removed (e.g., on hot unplug) it is too late for the target to store any metadata on the device - any attempt to write to the device will fail. In this case, pass on a "gracefull teardown" flag to the target to let it know when this happens. In the case of pblk, we pad the open line (close all open chunks) to improve data retention. In the event of an ungraceful shutdown, avoid this part and just clean up. When cleaning up buffer entries as we wrap up, their state should be "completed". If any of the entries is in "submitted" state, it means that something bad has happened. Trigger a warning immediately instead of waiting for the state flag to eventually be updated, thus hiding the issue. 2018-06-01powerpc/kbuild: Use flags variables rather than overriding LD/CC/ASNicholas Piggin
The powerpc toolchain can compile combinations of 32/64 bit and big/little endian, so it's convenient to consider, e.g., `CC -m64 -mbig-endian` To be the C compiler for the purpose of invoking it to build target artifacts. So overriding the CC variable to include these flags works for this purpose. Unfortunately that is not compatible with the way the proposed new Kconfig macro language will work. After previous patches in this series, these flags can be carefully passed in using flags instead. 2018-06-01powerpc/kbuild: Set default generic machine type for 32-bit compileNicholas Piggin
Some 64-bit toolchains uses the wrong ISA variant for compiling 32-bit kernels, even with -m32. Debian's powerpc64le is one such case, and that is because it is built with --with-cpu=power8. So when cross compiling a 32-bit kernel with a 64-bit toolchain, set -mcpu=powerpc initially, which is the generic 32-bit powerpc machine type and scheduling model. CPU and platform code can override this with subsequent -mcpu flags if necessary. This is not done for 32-bit toolchains otherwise it would override their defaults, which are presumably set appropriately for the environment (moreso than a 64-bit cross compiler). This fixes a lot of build failures due to incompatible assembly when compiling 32-bit kernel with the Debian powerpc64le 64-bit toolchain. 2018-06-01xhci: Add quirk to zero 64bit registers on Renesas PCIe controllersMarc Zyngier
Some Renesas controllers get into a weird state if they are reset while programmed with 64bit addresses (they will preserve the top half of the address in internal, non visible registers). You end up with half the address coming from the kernel, and the other half coming from the firmware. Also, changing the programming leads to extra accesses even if the controller is supposed to be halted. The controller ends up with a fatal fault, and is then ripe for being properly reset. On the flip side, this is completely unsafe if the defvice isn't behind an IOMMU, so we have to make sure that this is the case. Can you say "broken"? This is an alternative method to the one introduced in 8466489ef5ba ("xhci: Reset Renesas uPD72020x USB controller for 32-bit DMA issue"), which will subsequently be removed. We now have 32 different quirks, and the field that holds them is full. Let's bump it up to the next stage so that we can handle some more... The type is now an unsigned long long, which is 64bit on most architectures. We take this opportunity to change the quirks from using (1 << x) to BIT_ULL(x). 2018-06-01staging: mt7621-gpio: update #interrupt-cells for the gpio nodeSergio Paracuellos
Most gpio chips have two cells for interrupts and this should be also. Set this property in the device tree accordly fixing this up. In order to make this working properly the xlate function for the irq_domain must be updated to use the 'irq_domain_xlate_twocell' one in the driver. One more minimal change is needed two refer gpio's interrupt-parent from other nodes which is to add new 'gpio' label in the device tree. 2018-06-01ASoC: Intel: kbl: Move codec sysclk config to codec_init functionMac Chiang
On APL, commit fd0f237572ad ("ASoC: Intel: bxt: Move codec sysclk config to codec_init function") fixed an issue related to jack detection. The MCLK for DA7219 does not change in this platform, but is currently being configured everytime as part of the platform_clock event handler for DAPM. The upshot of this is that we have unnecessary calls to this function, and it also means that if a stream hasn't yet been started, DA7219 driver does not have the correct MCLK rates programmed and so the HP detection feature does not operate as expected. The same fix is needed on KBL. This patch rectifies this issue by moving the sysclk call to codec_init function so it's only called once at initialisation.
