2010-11-15ASoC: Add optional name_prefix for codec kcontrol, widget and route namesJarkko Nikula
There is a need to prefix codec kcontrol, widget and internal route names in an ASoC machine that has multiple codecs with conflicting names. The name collision would occur when codec drivers try to registering kcontrols with the same name or when building audio paths. This patch introduces optional prefix_map into struct snd_soc_card. With it machine drivers can specify a unique name prefix to each codec that have conflicting names with anothers. Prefix to codec is matched with codec name. Following example illustrates a machine that has two same codec instances. Name collision from kcontrol registration is avoided by specifying a name prefix "foo" for the second codec. As the codec widget names are prefixed then second audio map for that codec shows a prefixed widget name. static const struct snd_soc_dapm_route map0[] = { {"Spk", NULL, "MONO"}, }; static const struct snd_soc_dapm_route map1[] = { {"Vibra", NULL, "foo MONO"}, }; static struct snd_soc_prefix_map codec_prefix[] = { { .dev_name = "codec.2", .name_prefix = "foo", }, }; static struct snd_soc_card card = { ... .prefix_map = codec_prefix, .num_prefixes = ARRAY_SIZE(codec_prefix), }; Signed-off-by: Jarkko Nikula <jhnikula@gmail.com> Acked-by: Liam Girdwood <lrg@slimlogic.co.uk> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@opensource.wolfsonmicro.com>
2010-11-15arch/tile: fix rwlock so would-be write lockers don't block new readersChris Metcalf
This avoids a deadlock in the IGMP code where one core gets a read lock, another core starts trying to get a write lock (thus blocking new readers), and then the first core tries to recursively re-acquire the read lock. We still try to preserve some degree of balance by giving priority to additional write lockers that come along while the lock is held for write, so they can all complete quickly and return the lock to the readers. 2010-11-15ASoC: Fix dapm_seq_compare() for multi-componentMark Brown
Ensure that we keep all widget powerups in DAPM sequence by making the CODEC the last thing we compare on rather than the first thing. Also fix the fact that we're currently comparing the widget pointers rather than the CODEC pointers when we do the substraction so we won't get stable results. 2010-11-15GFS2: Fix inode deallocation raceSteven Whitehouse
This area of the code has always been a bit delicate due to the subtleties of lock ordering. The problem is that for "normal" alloc/dealloc, we always grab the inode locks first and the rgrp lock later. In order to ensure no races in looking up the unlinked, but still allocated inodes, we need to hold the rgrp lock when we do the lookup, which means that we can't take the inode glock. The solution is to borrow the technique already used by NFS to solve what is essentially the same problem (given an inode number, look up the inode carefully, checking that it really is in the expected state). We cannot do that directly from the allocation code (lock ordering again) so we give the job to the pre-existing delete workqueue and carry on with the allocation as normal. If we find there is no space, we do a journal flush (required anyway if space from a deallocation is to be released) which should block against the pending deallocations, so we should always get the space back. 2010-11-13drm/i915: Retire any pending operations on the old scanout when switchingChris Wilson
An old and oft reported bug, is that of the GPU hanging on a MI_WAIT_FOR_EVENT following a mode switch. The cause is that the GPU is waiting on a scanline counter on an inactive pipe, and so waits for a very long time until eventually the user reboots his machine. We can prevent this either by moving the WAIT into the kernel and thereby incurring considerable cost on every swapbuffers, or by waiting for the GPU to retire the last batch that accesses the framebuffer before installing a new one. As mode switches are much rarer than swap buffers, this looks like an easy choice. 2010-11-13cifs: don't take extra tlink reference in initiate_cifs_searchJeff Layton
It's possible for initiate_cifs_search to be called on a filp that already has private_data attached. If this happens, we'll end up calling cifs_sb_tlink, taking an extra reference to the tlink and attaching that to the cifsFileInfo. This leads to refcount leaks that manifest as a "stuck" cifsd at umount time. Fix this by only looking up the tlink for the cifsFile on the filp's first pass through this function. When called on a filp that already has cifsFileInfo associated with it, just use the tlink reference that it already owns.
