2018-06-21arm64: Introduce sysreg_clear_set()Mark Rutland
Currently we have a couple of helpers to manipulate bits in particular sysregs: * config_sctlr_el1(u32 clear, u32 set) * change_cpacr(u64 val, u64 mask) The parameters of these differ in naming convention, order, and size, which is unfortunate. They also differ slightly in behaviour, as change_cpacr() skips the sysreg write if the bits are unchanged, which is a useful optimization when sysreg writes are expensive. Before we gain yet another sysreg manipulation function, let's unify these with a common helper, providing a consistent order for clear/set operands, and the write skipping behaviour from change_cpacr(). Code will be migrated to the new helper in subsequent patches. 2018-06-21KVM: arm/arm64: Drop resource size check for GICV windowArd Biesheuvel
When booting a 64 KB pages kernel on a ACPI GICv3 system that implements support for v2 emulation, the following warning is produced GICV size 0x2000 not a multiple of page size 0x10000 and support for v2 emulation is disabled, preventing GICv2 VMs from being able to run on such hosts. The reason is that vgic_v3_probe() performs a sanity check on the size of the window (it should be a multiple of the page size), while the ACPI MADT parsing code hardcodes the size of the window to 8 KB. This makes sense, considering that ACPI does not bother to describe the size in the first place, under the assumption that platforms implementing ACPI will follow the architecture and not put anything else in the same 64 KB window. So let's just drop the sanity check altogether, and assume that the window is at least 64 KB in size. Rather than leaving io queues quiesced after tearing down an association, restart them. This allows ios to be replayed, with fastfail ios terminating and non-fastfail getting into loops of retry. 2018-06-21net: macb: Fix ptp time adjustment for large negative deltaHarini Katakam
When delta passed to gem_ptp_adjtime is negative, the sign is maintained in the ns_to_timespec64 conversion. Hence timespec_add should be used directly. timespec_sub will just subtract the negative value thus increasing the time difference. 2018-06-21ipvlan: fix IFLA_MTU ignored on NEWLINKXin Long
Commit 296d48568042 ("ipvlan: inherit MTU from master device") adjusted the mtu from the master device when creating a ipvlan device, but it would also override the mtu value set in rtnl_create_link. It causes IFLA_MTU param not to take effect. So this patch is to not adjust the mtu if IFLA_MTU param is set when creating a ipvlan device. 2018-06-21net: mscc: fix the injection headerAntoine Tenart
When injecting frames in the Ocelot switch driver an injection header (IFH) should be used to configure various parameters related to a given frame, such as the port onto which the frame should be departed or its vlan id. Other parameters in the switch configuration can led to an injected frame being sent without an IFH but this led to various issues as the per-frame parameters are then not used. This is especially true when using multiple ports for injection. The IFH was injected with the wrong endianness which led to the switch not taking it into account as the IFH_INJ_BYPASS bit was then unset. (The bit tells the switch to use the IFH over its internal configuration). This patch fixes it. In addition to the endianness fix, the IFH is also fixed. As it was (unwillingly) unused, some of its fields were not configured the right way. 2018-06-21strparser: Don't schedule in workqueue in paused stateVakul Garg
In function strp_data_ready(), it is useless to call queue_work if the state of strparser is already paused. The state checking should be done before calling queue_work. The change reduces the context switches and improves the ktls-rx throughput by approx 20% (measured on cortex-a53 based platform). 2018-06-20tools/power turbostat: fix segfault on 'no node' machinesNathan Ciobanu
Running turbostat on machines that don't expose nodes in sysfs (no /sys/bus/node) causes a segfault or a -nan value diesplayed in the log. This is caused by physical_node_id being reported as -1 and logical_node_id being calculated as a negative number resulting in the new GET_THREAD/GET_CORE returning an incorrect address. commit 5422b37c907e ("drm/i915/psr: Kill delays when activating psr back.") removed the call to cancel a scheduled psr_work from psr_disable() and instead added an early return in the work function. But, if the scheduled work item is executed after psr_enable(), we end up printing warnings as PSR is already enabled and active. So, put the cancel_work call back in psr_disable(). Add the WRITEBACK_OUT_FENCE_PTR property to writeback connectors, to enable userspace to get a fence which will signal once the writeback is complete. It is not allowed to request an out-fence without a framebuffer attached to the connector. A timeline is added to drm_writeback_connector for use by the writeback out-fences. In the case of a commit failure or DRM_MODE_ATOMIC_TEST_ONLY, the fence is set to -1. 2018-06-20drm: Add writeback connector typeBrian Starkey
Writeback connectors represent writeback engines which can write the CRTC output to a memory framebuffer. Add a writeback connector type and related support functions. Drivers should initialize a writeback connector with drm_writeback_connector_init() which takes care of setting up all the writeback-specific details on top of the normal functionality of drm_connector_init(). Writeback connectors have a WRITEBACK_FB_ID property, used to set the output framebuffer, and a WRITEBACK_PIXEL_FORMATS blob used to expose the supported writeback formats to userspace. When a framebuffer is attached to a writeback connector with the WRITEBACK_FB_ID property, it is used only once (for the commit in which it was included), and userspace can never read back the value of WRITEBACK_FB_ID. WRITEBACK_FB_ID can only be set if the connector is attached to a CRTC. Note that this only ever applied to the plane_update hook, all other legacy entry points (set_base, page_flip) always obeyed implicit sync in the drm/i915 driver. The real source of this code here seems to be msm, copied to vc4, then copied to tinydrm. I've also tried to dig around in all available msm sources, but the corresponding check for fb != old_fb is present ever since the initial merge in commit cf3a7e4ce08e6876cdcb80390876647f28a7cf8f Author: Rob Clark <robdclark@gmail.com> Date: Sat Nov 8 13:21:06 2014 -0500 drm/msm: atomic core bits The only older version I've found of msm atomic code predates the atomic helpers, and so didn't even use any of this. It also does not have a corresponding check (because it simply did no implicit sync at all). I've chatted with Rob on irc, and he didn't remember the reason for this either. Note we had epic amounts of fun with too much syncing against _vblank_, especially around cursor updates. But I don't ever discussing a need for less syncing against implicit fences. Also note that explicit fencing allows you to sidetrack all of this, at least for all the drivers correctly implemented using drm_atomic_set_fence_for_plane(). Given that it seems to be an accident of history, and that big drivers like i915 (and also nouveau it seems, I didn't follow the amdgpu/radeon sync code to figure this out properly there) never have done it, let's remove this. 2018-06-20nvme-rdma: Fix command completion race at error recoveryIsrael Rukshin
The race is between completing the request at error recovery work and rdma completions. If we cancel the request before getting the good rdma completion we get a NULL deref of the request MR at nvme_rdma_process_nvme_rsp(). When Canceling the request we return its mr to the mr pool (set mr to NULL) and also unmap its data. Canceling the requests while the rdma queues are active is not safe. Because rdma queues are active and we get good rdma completions that can use the mr pointer which may be NULL. Completing the request too soon may lead also to performing DMA to/from user buffers which might have been already unmapped. The commit fixes the race by draining the QP before starting the abort commands mechanism. If nvme_rdma_configure_admin_queue fails before we allocated the async event buffer, we will falsly free it because nvme_rdma_free_queue is freeing it. Fix it by allocating the buffer right after nvme_rdma_alloc_queue and free it right before nvme_rdma_queue_free to maintain orderly reverse cleanup sequence.
