Prior to 256a45937093 ("PCI/AER: Squash aerdrv_acpi.c into aerdrv.c"),
drivers/pci/pcie/aer/aerdrv_acpi.c contained code to parse the ACPI HEST
table. That code now lives in drivers/pci/pcie/aer.c.
Remove the "F: drivers/pci/*/*/*acpi*" pattern because it matches nothing.
We could add a "F: drivers/pci/pcie/aer.c" pattern to the ACPI APEI
section, but that file sees a lot of changes, almost none of which are of
interest to the ACPI folks.

The success of a cache pseudo-locked region is measured using
performance monitoring events that are programmed directly at the time
the user requests a measurement.
Modifying the performance event registers directly is not appropriate
since it circumvents the in-kernel perf infrastructure that exists to
manage these resources and provide resource arbitration to the
performance monitoring hardware.
The cache pseudo-locking measurements are modified to use the in-kernel
perf infrastructure. Performance events are created and validated with
the appropriate perf API. The performance counters are still read as
directly as possible to avoid the additional cache hits. This is
done safely by first ensuring with the perf API that the counters have
been programmed correctly and only accessing the counters in an
interrupt disabled section where they are not able to be moved.
As part of the transition to the in-kernel perf infrastructure the L2
and L3 measurements are split into two separate measurements that can
be triggered independently. This separation prevents additional cache
misses incurred during the extra testing code used to decide if a
L2 and/or L3 measurement should be made.

A perf event has many attributes that are maintained in a separate
structure that should be provided when a new perf_event is created.
In preparation for the transition to perf_events the required attribute
structures are created for all the events that may be used in the
measurements. Most attributes for all the events are identical. The
actual configuration, what specifies what needs to be measured, is what
will be different between the events used. This configuration needs to
be done with X86_CONFIG that cannot be used as part of the designated
initializers used here, this will be introduced later.
Although they do look identical at this time the attribute structures
needs to be maintained separately since a perf_event will maintain a
pointer to its unique attributes.
In support of patch testing the new structs are given the unused attribute
until their use in later patches.

Local register variables were used in an effort to improve the
accuracy of the measurement of cache residency of a pseudo-locked
region. This was done to ensure that only the cache residency of
the memory is measured and not the cache residency of the variables
used to perform the measurement.
While local register variables do accomplish the goal they do require
significant care since different architectures have different registers
available. Local register variables also cannot be used with valuable
developer tools like KASAN.
Significant testing has shown that similar accuracy in measurement
results can be obtained by replacing local register variables with
regular local variables.
Make use of local variables in the critical code but do so with
READ_ONCE() to prevent the compiler from merging or refetching reads.
Ensure these variables are initialized before the measurement starts,
and ensure it is only the local variables that are accessed during
the measurement.
With the removal of the local register variables and using READ_ONCE()
there is no longer a motivation for using a direct wrmsr call (that
avoids the additional tracing code that may clobber the local register
variables).

perf_event_read_local() is the safest way to obtain measurements
associated with performance events. In some cases the overhead
introduced by perf_event_read_local() affects the measurements and the
use of rdpmcl() is needed. rdpmcl() requires the index
of the performance counter used so a helper is introduced to determine
the index used by a provided performance event.
The index used by a performance event may change when interrupts are
enabled. A check is added to ensure that the index is only accessed
with interrupts disabled. Even with this check the use of this counter
needs to be done with care to ensure it is queried and used within the
same disabled interrupts section.
This change introduces a new checkpatch warning:

It is possible that a failure can occur during the scheduling of a
pinned event. The initial portion of perf_event_read_local() contains
the various error checks an event should pass before it can be
considered valid. Ensure that the potential scheduling failure
of a pinned event is checked for and have a credible error.

Commit 8ce355cf2e38 ("MIPS: Setup boot_command_line before
plat_mem_setup") fixed a problem for systems which have
CONFIG_CMDLINE_BOOL=y & use a DT with a chosen node that has either no
bootargs property or an empty one. In this configuration
early_init_dt_scan_chosen() copies CONFIG_CMDLINE into
boot_command_line, but the MIPS code doesn't know this so it appends
CONFIG_CMDLINE (via builtin_cmdline) to boot_command_line again. The
result is that boot_command_line contains the arguments from
CONFIG_CMDLINE twice.
That commit took the approach of simply setting up boot_command_line
from the MIPS code before early_init_dt_scan_chosen() runs, causing it
not to copy CONFIG_CMDLINE to boot_command_line if a chosen node with no
bootargs property is found.
Unfortunately this is problematic for systems which do have a non-empty
bootargs property & CONFIG_CMDLINE_BOOL=y. There
early_init_dt_scan_chosen() will overwrite boot_command_line with the
arguments from DT, which means we lose those from CONFIG_CMDLINE
entirely. This breaks CONFIG_MIPS_CMDLINE_DTB_EXTEND. If we have
CONFIG_MIPS_CMDLINE_FROM_BOOTLOADER or
CONFIG_MIPS_CMDLINE_BUILTIN_EXTEND selected and the DT has a bootargs
property which we should ignore, it will instead be honoured breaking
those configurations too.
Fix this by reverting commit 8ce355cf2e38 ("MIPS: Setup
boot_command_line before plat_mem_setup") to restore the former
behaviour, and fixing the CONFIG_CMDLINE duplication issue by
initializing boot_command_line to a non-empty string that
early_init_dt_scan_chosen() will not overwrite with CONFIG_CMDLINE.
This is a little ugly, but cleanup in this area is on its way. In the
meantime this is at least easy to backport & contains the ugliness
within arch/mips/.

When using the legacy mmap layout, for example triggered using ulimit -s
unlimited, get_unmapped_area() fills memory from bottom to top starting
from a fairly low address near TASK_UNMAPPED_BASE.
This placement is suboptimal if the user application wishes to allocate
large amounts of heap memory using the brk syscall. With the VDSO being
located low in the user's virtual address space, the amount of space
available for access using brk is limited much more than it was prior to
the introduction of the VDSO.

Resolve this by adjusting STACK_TOP to reserve space for the VDSO &
providing an address hint to get_unmapped_area() causing it to use this
space even when using the legacy mmap layout.
We reserve enough space for the VDSO, plus 1MB or 256MB for 32 bit & 64
bit systems respectively within which we randomize the VDSO base
address. Previously this randomization was taken care of by the mmap
base address randomization performed by arch_mmap_rnd(). The 1MB & 256MB
sizes are somewhat arbitrary but chosen such that we have some
randomization without taking up too much of the user's virtual address
space, which is often in short supply for 32 bit systems.
With this the VDSO is always mapped at a high address, leaving lots of
space for statically linked programs to make use of brk:

ibmvnic_netpoll_controller() was completely wrong anyway,
as it was scheduling NAPI to service RX queues (instead of TX),
so I doubt netpoll ever worked on this driver.

As diagnosed by Song Liu, ndo_poll_controller() can
be very dangerous on loaded hosts, since the cpu
calling ndo_poll_controller() might steal all NAPI
contexts (for all RX/TX queues of the NIC). This capture
can last for unlimited amount of time, since one
cpu is generally not able to drain all the queues under load.
hinic uses NAPI for TX completions, so we better let core
networking stack call the napi->poll() to avoid the capture.
Note that hinic_netpoll() was incorrectly scheduling NAPI
on both RX and TX queues.

Since we do no longer require NAPI drivers to provide
an ndo_poll_controller(), napi_schedule() has not been done
before poll_one_napi() invocation.
So testing NAPI_STATE_SCHED is likely to cause early returns.
While we are at it, remove outdated comment.
Note to future bisections : This change might surface prior
bugs in drivers. See commit 73f21c653f93 ("bnxt_en: Fix TX
timeout during netpoll.") for one occurrence.

We apply a smoothing to the scale changes in order to keep sawtoothy
behavior from occurring. However our window for checking if we've
missed our target can sometimes be lower than the smoothing interval
(500ms), especially on faster drives like ssd's. In order to deal with
this keep track of the running tally of the previous intervals that we
threw away because we had already done a scale event recently.
This is needed for the ssd case as these low latency drives will have
bursts of latency, and if it happens to be ok for the window that
directly follows the opening of the scale window we could unthrottle
when previous windows we were missing our target.

We use an average latency approach for determining if we're missing our
latency target. This works well for rotational storage where we have
generally consistent latencies, but for ssd's and other low latency
devices you have more of a spikey behavior, which means we often won't
throttle misbehaving groups because a lot of IO completes at drastically
faster times than our latency target. Instead keep track of how many
IO's miss our target and how many IO's are done in our time window. If
the p(90) latency is above our target then we know we need to throttle.
With this change in place we are seeing the same throttling behavior
with our testcase on ssd's as we see with rotational drives.

There is logic to keep cgroups that haven't done a lot of IO in the most
recent scale window from being punished for over-active higher priority
groups. However for things like ssd's where the windows are pretty
short we'll end up with small numbers of samples, so 5% of samples will
come out to 0 if there aren't enough. Make the floor 1 sample to keep
us from improperly bailing out of scaling down.

Hitting the case where blk_queue_depth() returned 1 uncovered the fact
that iolatency doesn't actually handle this case properly, it simply
doesn't scale down anybody. For this case we should go straight into
applying the time delay, which we weren't doing. Since we already limit
the floor at 1 request this if statement is not needed, and this allows
us to set our depth to 1 which allows us to apply the delay if needed.

We were using blk_queue_depth() assuming that it would return
nr_requests, but we hit a case in production on drives that had to have
NCQ turned off in order for them to not shit the bed which resulted in a
qd of 1, even though the nr_requests was much larger. iolatency really
only cares about requests we are allowed to queue up, as any io that
get's onto the request list is going to be serviced soonish, so we want
to be throttling before the bio gets onto the request list. To make
iolatency work as expected, simply use q->nr_requests instead of
blk_queue_depth() as that is what we actually care about.

The structure shared between driver and the management FW (mfw) differ in
sizes. This would lead to issues when driver try to access the structure
members which are not-aligned with the mfw copy e.g., data_ptr usage in the
case of mfw_tlv request.
Align the driver structure with mfw copy, add reserved field(s) to driver
structure for the members not used by the driver.

Functions qeth_get_ipa_msg and qeth_get_ipa_cmd_name are modifying
the last member of global arrays without any locking that I can see.
If two instances of either function are running at the same time,
it could cause a race ultimately leading to an array overrun (the
contents of the last entry of the array is the only guarantee that
the loop will ever stop).
Performing the lookups without modifying the arrays is admittedly
slower (two comparisons per iteration instead of one) but these
are operations which are rare (should only be needed in error
cases or when debugging, not during successful operation) and it
seems still less costly than introducing a mutex to protect the
arrays in question.
As a side bonus, it allows us to declare both arrays as const data.

NSEC_PER_SEC has type long, so 5 * NSEC_PER_SEC is calculated as a long.
However, 5 seconds is 5,000,000,000 nanoseconds, which overflows a
32-bit long. Make sure all of the targets are calculated as 64-bit
values.

The debounce value passed to mmc_gpiod_request_cd() function is in
microseconds, but msecs_to_jiffies() requires the value to be in
miliseconds to properly calculate the delay, so adjust the value stored
in cd_debounce_delay_ms context entry.

Update device_add_disk() to take an 'groups' argument so that
individual drivers can register a device with additional sysfs
attributes.
This avoids race condition the driver would otherwise have if these
groups were to be created with sysfs_add_groups().
