Currently ARCH_BCM has been used for Broadcom Mobile V7 based SoCs. In order to allow other Broadcom SoCs to also use mach-bcm directory and files, this patch renames the original ARCH_BCM to ARCH_BCM_MOBILE, and uses ARCH_BCM to define any Broadcom chip residing in mach-bcm directory. 2013-10-30powerpc: Add VMX optimised xor for RAID5Anton Blanchard
Add a VMX optimised xor, used primarily for RAID5. On a POWER7 blade this is a decent win: 32regs : 17932.800 MB/sec altivec : 19724.800 MB/sec The bigger gain is when the same test is run in SMT4 mode, as it would if there was a lot of work going on: 8regs : 8377.600 MB/sec altivec : 15801.600 MB/sec I tested this against an array created without the patch, and also verified it worked as expected on a little endian kernel. 2013-10-30powerpc/pseries: Fix dedicated processor partition detectionAnton Blanchard
commit f13c13a00512 (powerpc: Stop using non-architected shared_proc field in lppaca) fixed a potential issue with shared/dedicated partition detection. The old method of detection relied on an unarchitected field (shared_proc), and this patch switched to using something architected (a non zero yield_count). Unfortunately the assertion in the Linux header that yield_count is only non zero on shared processor partitions is not true. It turns out dedicated processor partitions can increment yield_count and as such we falsely detect dedicated partitions as shared. Fix the comment, and switch back to using the old method. This patch modifies the unaligned access routines of the sstep.c module so that it properly reverses the bytes of storage operands in the little endian kernel kernel. This is implemented by breaking an unaligned little endian access into a combination of single byte accesses plus an overal byte reversal operation. The alignment handler is incorrect for unaligned string instructions in little endian mode. These instructions access data as arrays of bytes and thus are endian neutral. However, the routine also handles the load/store multiple instructions, which are NOT endian neutral. This patch toggles the byte swapping flag for the string instructions in little endian builds. 2013-10-30powerpc: Fix 64K page size support for PPC44xAlistair Popple
PPC44x supports page sizes other than 4K however when 64K page sizes are selected compilation fails. Ideally we should implement the same layout for PPC32 however for the meantime this patch reverts the definition of pgtable_t for PPC32. 2013-10-30powerpc/boot: Don't change link address for OF-based platformsPaul Mackerras
Commit c55aef0e5bc6 ("powerpc/boot: Change the load address for the wrapper to fit the kernel") adjusts the wrapper address unnecessarily for platforms that use arch/powerpc/boot/of.c, since the code there allocates space for the kernel wherever it can find it and doesn't necessarily load the kernel at address 0. Changing the link address is actually harmful since it can cause the zImage to overlap with Open Firmware and thus fail to boot. 2013-10-30drm: allow DRM_IOCTL_VERSION on render-nodesDavid Herrmann
DRM_IOCTL_VERSION is a reliable way to get the driver-name and version information. It's not related to the interface-version (SET_VERSION ioctl) so we can safely enable it on render-nodes. Note that gbm uses udev-BUSID to load the correct mesa driver. However, the VERSION ioctl should be the more reliable way to do this (in case we add new DRM-bus drivers which have no BUSID or similar). Don't update the slot in "bgmac_dma_rx_skb_for_slot" unless both the skb alloc and dma mapping are successful; and free the newly allocated skb if a dma mapping error occurs. 2013-10-29ibm emac: Don't call napi_complete if napi_reschedule failedAlistair Popple
This patch fixes a bug which would trigger the BUG_ON() at net/core/dev.c:4156. It was found that this was due to continuing processing in the current poll call even when the call to napi_reschedule failed, indicating the device was already on the polling list. This resulted in an extra call to napi_complete which triggered the BUG_ON(). This patch ensures that we only contine processing rotting packets in the current mal_poll call if we are not already on the polling list. Current Kconfig allows GPIO_DEVRES to be selected and compiled without GPIOLIB. This does not make sense anymore since GPIOLIB has become the exclusive way to deal with GPIOs. 2013-10-29staging: ft1000: return values corrected in scram_start_dwnldKelley Nielsen
The ft1000 usb driver ignores expected Linux error codes, and uses two values defined in ft1000_usb.h: STATUS_SUCCESS 0, and STATUS_FAILURE 0x1001; and sometimes -1. This patch changes the return values of the function scram_start_dwnld to match the status of the handshake returned by its helper functions, get_handshake and get_handshake_usb. If the handshake fails, -ENETRESET is returned instead of the inappropriate STATUS_FAILURE. Also, a new test has been added to differentiate failure due to timeout from failure due to net reset (the default). -ETIMEDOUT is returned in this case. Finally, 0 is returned on success instead of STATUS_SUCCESS. 2013-10-29staging: ft1000: change values of status return variable in ↵Kelley Nielsen
write_dpram32_and_check The ft1000 usb driver ignores expected Linux error codes, and uses two values defined in ft1000_usb.h: STATUS_SUCCESS 0, and STATUS_FAILURE 0x1001; and sometimes -1. This patch changes the return value of the function write_dpram_32_and check to 0 or -EREMOTEIO, respectively. The relevant change was made in the helper function check_buffers (which is only called from write_dpram32_and_check); it now returns 0 on success and -EREMOTEIO on failure, and this is allowed to propagate through write_dpram32_and_check. Assignments to the return variable status that are no longer needed were removed as well. In one function up the call chain, dsp_reload in ft1000_hw.c, the status variable was changed from u16 to int to avoid collecting a signed value in an unsigned variable. sig_cfg.clk_pol controls the 'di0_polarity_disp_clk' bit of register IPUx_DI0_GENERAL through the following code in imx-drm/ipu-v3/ipu-di.c: if (!sig->clk_pol) di_gen |= DI_GEN_POLARITY_DISP_CLK; With 'di0_polarity_disp_clk' bit set we do not have stable HDMI output on mx6solo: contours of pictures look jittery and the white colour does not appear really white. Russell King initially reported this problem at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg279805.html Inverting 'di0_polarity_disp_clk' leads to stable HDMI output image. The only notification supported by the Device Management class is Response Available. But this driver is also used as a subdriver of other CDC classes, allowing notifications like Speed Change and Network Connection. This results in log messages which are only confusing to an end user: [66255.801874] cdc_mbim 1-3:1.5: unknown notification 42 received: index 5 len 8 These drivers use cdc-wdm as a subdriver to allow access to an embedded management protocol, and all management is expected to use this protocol. There is therefore no need to handle any of these optional CDC notifications. Instead we can let the cdc-wdm driver recognize them and log a debug level message instead of an error. suppressed" messages pr_debug_ratelimited should be coded similarly to dev_dbg_ratelimited to reduce the "callbacks suppressed" messages. Add #include <linux/dynamic_debug.h> to printk.h. Unfortunately, this new #include must be after the prototype/declaration of function printk. It may be better to split out these _ratelimited declarations into a separate file one day. Any use of these pr_<foo>_ratelimited functions must also have another specific #include <ratelimited.h>. Most users have this done indirectly via #include <linux/kernel.h> printk.h may not #include <linux/ratelimit.h> as it causes circular dependencies and compilation failures.
