blk_try_enter_queue() already takes rcu_read_lock/unlock, so we can avoid the second pair in percpu_ref_tryget_live(), use a newly added percpu_ref_tryget_live_rcu(). 2021-10-21x86/CPU: Add support for Vortex CPUsMarcos Del Sol Vives
DM&P devices were not being properly identified, which resulted in unneeded Spectre/Meltdown mitigations being applied. The manufacturer states that these devices execute always in-order and don't support either speculative execution or branch prediction, so they are not vulnerable to this class of attack. [1] This is something I've personally tested by a simple timing analysis on my Vortex86MX CPU, and can confirm it is true. 2021-10-21net: enetc: make sure all traffic classes can send large framesVladimir Oltean
The enetc driver does not implement .ndo_change_mtu, instead it configures the MAC register field PTC{Traffic Class}MSDUR[MAXSDU] statically to a large value during probe time. The driver used to configure only the max SDU for traffic class 0, and that was fine while the driver could only use traffic class 0. But with the introduction of mqprio, sending a large frame into any other TC than 0 is broken. This patch fixes that by replicating per traffic class the static configuration done in enetc_configure_port_mac(). 2021-10-21media: venus: vdec: decoded picture buffer handling during reconfig sequenceMansur Alisha Shaik
In existing implementation, driver is freeing and un-mapping all the decoded picture buffers(DPB) as part of dynamic resolution change(DRC) handling. As a result, when firmware try to access the DPB buffer, from previous sequence, SMMU context fault is seen due to the buffer being already unmapped. With this change, driver defines ownership of each DPB buffer. If a buffer is owned by firmware, driver would skip from un-mapping the same. According to stateful decoder docs a fatal failure of decoding (and encoding) could be recover it by closing the corresponding file handle and open new one or reinitialize decoding (and encoding) by stop streaming on both queues. In order to satisfy this requirement we add a mechanism ins sys_error_handler and corresponding decoder and encoder drivers to wait for sys_error_done waitqueue in reqbuf. After this driver was converted to gpiod, clang started warning: vers/regulator/lp872x.c:689:57: error: implicit conversion from enumeration type 'enum lp872x_dvs_state' to different enumeration type 'enum gpiod_flags' [-Werror,-Wenum-conversion] dvs->gpio = devm_gpiod_get_optional(lp->dev, "ti,dvs", pinstate); ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^~~~~~~~ 1 error generated. lp872x_dvs_state was updated to have values from gpiod_flags but this is not enough to avoid an implicit conversion warning from either GCC or clang (although GCC enables this warning under -Wextra instead of -Wall like clang so it is not seen under normal builds). Eliminate lp872x_dvs_state in favor of using gpiod_flags everywhere so that there is no more warning about an implicit conversion. The 1/10GbaseT modes were set up for cards with SFP+ cages in 3497ed8c852a5 ("sfc: report supported link speeds on SFP connections"). 10GbaseT was likely used since no 10G fibre mode existed. The missing fibre modes for 1/10G were added to ethtool.h in 5711a9822144 ("net: ethtool: add support for 1000BaseX and missing 10G link modes") shortly thereafter. Samsung PWM The Exynos MCT and Samsung PWM Timer clocksource drivers are not usable on anything else than Samsung Exynos, S3C or S5P SoC platforms. These are integral parts of a SoC. Even though the drivers are not user selectable, still document the hardware architecture explicitly with depends on ARCH_EXYNOS and others. This also serves a purpose of documenting use-case, if someone ever wonders whether to select the driver for his platform. No functional change, because drivers are already selected by the platform described in depends. We follow similar approach also for other SoC-specific drivers. The various floating point test programs written in assembly have a bunch of helper functions and macros which are cut'n'pasted between them. Factor them out into a separate source file which is linked into all of them. We don't include memcmp() since it isn't as generic as it should be and directly branches to report an error in the programs. 2021-10-21arm64: extable: add load_unaligned_zeropad() handlerMark Rutland
For inline assembly, we place exception fixups out-of-line in the `.fixup` section such that these are out of the way of the fast path. This has a few drawbacks: * Since the fixup code is anonymous, backtraces will symbolize fixups as offsets from the nearest prior symbol, currently `__entry_tramp_text_end`. This is confusing, and painful to debug without access to the relevant vmlinux. * Since the exception handler adjusts the PC to execute the fixup, and the fixup uses a direct branch back into the function it fixes, backtraces of fixups miss the original function. This is confusing, and violates requirements for RELIABLE_STACKTRACE (and therefore LIVEPATCH). * Inline assembly and associated fixups are generated from templates, and we have many copies of logically identical fixups which only differ in which specific registers are written to and which address is branched to at the end of the fixup. This is potentially wasteful of I-cache resources, and makes it hard to add additional logic to fixups without significant bloat. * In the case of load_unaligned_zeropad(), the logic in the fixup requires a temporary register that we must allocate even in the fast-path where it will not be used. This patch address all four concerns for load_unaligned_zeropad() fixups by adding a dedicated exception handler which performs the fixup logic in exception context and subsequent returns back after the faulting instruction. For the moment, the fixup logic is identical to the old assembly fixup logic, but in future we could enhance this by taking the ESR and FAR into account to constrain the faults we try to fix up, or to specialize fixups for MTE tag check faults. Other than backtracing, there should be no functional change as a result of this patch.
