2011-01-04r8169: remove the firmware of RTL8111D.françois romieu
The binary file of the firmware is moved to linux-firmware repository. The firmwares are rtl_nic/rtl8168d-1.fw and rtl_nic/rtl8168d-2.fw. The driver goes along if the firmware couldn't be found. However, it is suggested to be done with the suitable firmware. Some wrong PHY parameters are directly corrected in the driver. Simple firmware checking added per Ben Hutchings suggestion. For 2.6.37 we simply cut & paste the initialization code into lguest (da32dac10126 "lguest: populate initial_page_table"), now we fix it properly by doing that initialization before the paravirt jump. Instead of starting the split transaction timeout timer when any request is submitted, start it only when the destination's ACK_PENDING has been received. This prevents us from using a timeout that is too short, and, if the controller's AT queue is emptying very slowly, from cancelling a packet that has not yet been sent. For this I added the tiny helper function: int is_valid_tracepoint(const char *event_string) to parse-events.[hc], which could be more generic as an interface and support hardware/software/... events, not only tracepoints, but someone else could extend that if needed... Jean Pihet has a patch integrated into the generic layer (kernel/power/suspend.c) which will make use of it. the type= field got removed from both, it was never used and the type is differed by the event type itself. perf timechart userspace tool gets adjusted in a separate patch.
