2017-07-25Revert "netvsc: optimize calculation of number of slots"stephen hemminger
The logic for computing page buffer scatter does not take into account the impact of compound pages. Therefore the optimization to compute number of slots was incorrect and could cause stack corruption a skb was sent with lots of fragments from huge pages. This reverts commit 60b86665af0dfbeebda8aae43f0ba451cd2dcfe5. 2017-07-25ftgmac100: return error in ftgmac100_alloc_rx_bufJoel Stanley
The error paths set err, but it's not returned. I wondered if we should fix all of the callers to check the returned value, but Ben explains why the code is this way: > Most call sites ignore it on purpose. There's nothing we can do if > we fail to get a buffer at interrupt time, so we point the buffer to > the scratch page so the HW doesn't DMA into lalaland and lose the > packet. > > The one call site that tests and can fail is the one used when brining > the interface up. If we fail to allocate at that point, we fail the > ifup. But as you noticed, I do have a bug not returning the error. 2017-07-25ipv6: Don't increase IPSTATS_MIB_FRAGFAILS twice in ip6_fragment()Stefano Brivio
RFC 2465 defines ipv6IfStatsOutFragFails as: "The number of IPv6 datagrams that have been discarded because they needed to be fragmented at this output interface but could not be." The existing implementation, instead, would increase the counter twice in case we fail to allocate room for single fragments: once for the fragment, once for the datagram. This didn't look intentional though. In one of the two affected affected failure paths, the double increase was simply a result of a new 'goto fail' statement, introduced to avoid a skb leak. The other path appears to be affected since at least 2.6.12-rc2. 2017-07-25parisc: Prevent TLB speculation on flushed pages on CPUs that only support ↵John David Anglin
equivalent aliases Helge noticed that we flush the TLB page in flush_cache_page but not in flush_cache_range or flush_cache_mm. For a long time, we have had random segmentation faults building packages on machines with PA8800/8900 processors. These machines only support equivalent aliases. We don't see these faults on machines that don't require strict coherency. So, it appears TLB speculation sometimes leads to cache corruption on machines that require coherency. This patch adds TLB flushes to flush_cache_range and flush_cache_mm when coherency is required. We only flush the TLB in flush_cache_page when coherency is required. The patch also optimizes flush_cache_range. It turns out we always have the right context to use flush_user_dcache_range_asm and flush_user_icache_range_asm. The patch has been tested for some time on rp3440, rp3410 and A500-44. It's been boot tested on c8000. No random segmentation faults were observed during testing. 2017-07-25drm/radeon: Set depth on low mem to 16 bpp instead of 8 bppEgbert Eich
The radeon driver reduces the framebuffer resolution to 8bpp if a device with less than 32MB VRAM is found. This causes the framebuffer to run in 8 bit paletted mode. For a text console this is not an issue as 256 different colors is more than one gets on a VGA text console. However this leads to a poor 8bit pseudo-color visual when running X on fbdev, too, which is quite ugly. In this patch, we try to give some moderate compromise: limit the framebuffer bpp to 8 only when VRAM is 8MB or less, and use 16 bpp otherwise for 32MB or less VRAM. 2017-07-25drm/ttm: Implement vm_operations_struct.access v2Felix Kuehling
Allows gdb to access contents of user mode mapped BOs. System memory is handled by TTM using kmap. Other memory pools require a new driver callback in ttm_bo_driver. v2: * kmap only one page at a time * swap in BO if needed * make driver callback more generic to handle private memory pools * document callback return value * WARN_ON -> WARN_ON_ONCE Signed-off-by: Felix Kuehling <Felix.Kuehling@amd.com> Reviewed-by: Christian König <christian.koenig@amd.com> Reviewed-by: Michel Dänzer <michel.daenzer@amd.com> Signed-off-by: Alex Deucher <alexander.deucher@amd.com>

2017-07-25nbd: clear disconnected on reconnectJosef Bacik
If our device loses its connection for longer than the dead timeout we will set NBD_DISCONNECTED in order to quickly fail any pending IO's that flood in after the IO's that were waiting during the dead timer. However if we re-connect at some point in the future we'll still see this DISCONNECTED flag set if we then lose our connection again after that, which means we won't get notifications for our newly lost connections. Fix this by just clearing the DISCONNECTED flag on reconnect in order to make sure everything works as it's supposed to.
