2024-10-25s390/nospec: Switch over to sysfs_emit()Mete Durlu
Per Documentation/filesystems/sysfs.rst, sysfs_emit() is preferred over sprintf for presenting attributes to user space. Convert the left-over uses in the s390/nospec-sysfs code. 2024-07-23s390/nospec: Push down alternative handlingHeiko Carstens
The nospec implementation is deeply integrated into the alternatives code: only for nospec an alternative facility list is implemented and used by the alternative code, while it is modified by nospec specific needs. Push down the nospec alternative handling into the nospec by introducing a new alternative type and a specific nospec callback to decide if alternatives should be applied. Also introduce a new global nobp variable which together with facility 82 can be used to decide if nobp is enabled or not. 2021-06-07s390/facilities: move stfl information from lowcore to global dataSven Schnelle
With gcc-11, there are a lot of warnings because the facility functions are accessing lowcore through a null pointer. Fix this by moving the facility arrays away from lowcore. 2019-04-11s390: Convert IS_ENABLED uses to __is_definedJoe Perches
IS_ENABLED should be reserved for CONFIG_<FOO> uses so convert the uses of IS_ENABLED with a #define to __is_defined. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>
2018-07-18s390: detect etoken facilityMartin Schwidefsky
Detect and report the etoken facility. With spectre_v2=auto or CONFIG_EXPOLINE_AUTO=y automatically disable expolines and use the full branch prediction mode for the kernel. Signed-off-by: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>
2018-05-07s390: move spectre sysfs attribute codeMartin Schwidefsky
The nospec-branch.c file is compiled without the gcc options to generate expoline thunks. The return branch of the sysfs show functions cpu_show_spectre_v1 and cpu_show_spectre_v2 is an indirect branch as well. These need to be compiled with expolines. Move the sysfs functions for spectre reporting to a separate file and loose an '.' for one of the messages.
