2017-02-22NFSv4: Fix reboot recovery in copy offloadTrond Myklebust
Copy offload code needs to be hooked into the code for handling NFS4ERR_BAD_STATEID by ensuring that we set the "stateid" field in struct nfs4_exception. Reported-by: Olga Kornievskaia <aglo@umich.edu> Fixes: 2e72448b07dc3 ("NFS: Add COPY nfs operation") Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <trond.myklebust@primarydata.com> Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org # v4.7+ Signed-off-by: Anna Schumaker <Anna.Schumaker@Netapp.com>
2017-02-22pNFS/flexfiles: If the layout is invalid, it must be updated before retryingTrond Myklebust
If we see that our pNFS READ/WRITE/COMMIT operation failed, but we also see that our layout segment is no longer valid, then we need to get a new layout segment before retrying. 2017-02-21NFSv4: Replace the open coded decode_opaque_inline() with the new genericTrond Myklebust
Also ensure that we always check that the size of the decoded object matches the expectation that it must be smaller than NFS4_OPAQUE_LIMIT. This should be true for all the current users of decode_opaque_inline(), including decode_ace(), decode_pathname(), decode_attr_fs_locations() and decode_exchange_id(). 2017-02-02fs: Better permission checking for submountsEric W. Biederman
To support unprivileged users mounting filesystems two permission checks have to be performed: a test to see if the user allowed to create a mount in the mount namespace, and a test to see if the user is allowed to access the specified filesystem. The automount case is special in that mounting the original filesystem grants permission to mount the sub-filesystems, to any user who happens to stumble across the their mountpoint and satisfies the ordinary filesystem permission checks. Attempting to handle the automount case by using override_creds almost works. It preserves the idea that permission to mount the original filesystem is permission to mount the sub-filesystem. Unfortunately using override_creds messes up the filesystems ordinary permission checks. Solve this by being explicit that a mount is a submount by introducing vfs_submount, and using it where appropriate. vfs_submount uses a new mount internal mount flags MS_SUBMOUNT, to let sget and friends know that a mount is a submount so they can take appropriate action. sget and sget_userns are modified to not perform any permission checks on submounts. follow_automount is modified to stop using override_creds as that has proven problemantic. do_mount is modified to always remove the new MS_SUBMOUNT flag so that we know userspace will never by able to specify it. autofs4 is modified to stop using current_real_cred that was put in there to handle the previous version of submount permission checking. cifs is modified to pass the mountpoint all of the way down to vfs_submount. debugfs is modified to pass the mountpoint all of the way down to trace_automount by adding a new parameter. To make this change easier a new typedef debugfs_automount_t is introduced to capture the type of the debugfs automount function. 2017-01-30NFS: Change nfs4_setup_sequence() to take an nfs_client structureAnna Schumaker

2017-01-30NFS: Move nfs4_get_session() into nfs4_session.hAnna Schumaker

2017-01-13NFSv4: Fix client recovery when server reboots multiple timesTrond Myklebust

Currently, the client is being to conservative, and is assuming that if the server reboots while state recovery is in progress, then it must ignore state that was not recovered before the reboot. 2017-01-12nfs: Don't take a reference on fl->fl_file for LOCK operationBenjamin Coddington
I have reports of a crash that look like __fput() was called twice for a NFSv4.0 file. It seems possible that the state manager could try to reclaim a lock and take a reference on the fl->fl_file at the same time the file is being released if, during the close(), a signal interrupts the wait for outstanding IO while removing locks which then skips the removal of that lock. Since 83bfff23e9ed ("nfs4: have do_vfs_lock take an inode pointer") has removed the need to traverse fl->fl_file->f_inode in nfs4_lock_done(), taking that reference is no longer necessary.
