The spi core make sure that each transfer structure have the proper
setting for bits_per_word before calling low level transfer APIs.
Hence it is no more require to check again in low level driver for
this field whether this is set correct or not. Removing such code
from low level driver.
The txx9 change also removes a test for bits_per_word set to 0, and
forcing it to 8 in that case. This can also be removed now since
spi_setup() ensures spi->bits_per_word is not zero.

Linux assigns a number to each spi_master in the system, but when the
platform used the device tree, the numbers are dynamically assigned and
are not predictable. In general this shouldn't matter since the kernel
doesn't use the bus number for anything other than matching a bus to
spi_boardinfo (not used for DT). However, sometimes userspace needs to
figure out which bus is which, so it makes sense to use the global
/aliases namespace to choose a specific bus number.
It is safe to derive the bus number from an alias because aliases will
never cause two buses to try and use the same bus number. (At one time
the cell-index property was used for this purpose, but cell-index has
the risk of an id collision).

No actual errors have been found for completing
before disabling DMA request lines, but it just
looks more semantically correct that on our DMA
callback we quiesce the whole thing before stating
transfer is finished.

Pull full-dynticks (user-space execution is undisturbed and
receives no timer IRQs) preparation changes that convert the
cputime accounting code to be full-dynticks ready,
from Frederic Weisbecker:
"This implements the cputime accounting on full dynticks CPUs.
Typical cputime stats infrastructure relies on the timer tick and
its periodic polling on the CPU to account the amount of time
spent by the CPUs and the tasks per high level domains such as
userspace, kernelspace, guest, ...
Now we are preparing to implement full dynticks capability on
Linux for Real Time and HPC users who want full CPU isolation.
This feature requires a cputime accounting that doesn't depend
on the timer tick.
To implement it, this new cputime infrastructure plugs into
kernel/user/guest boundaries to take snapshots of cputime and
flush these to the stats when needed. This performs pretty
much like CONFIG_VIRT_CPU_ACCOUNTING except that context location
and cputime snaphots are synchronized between write and read
side such that the latter can safely retrieve the pending tickless
cputime of a task and add it to its latest cputime snapshot to
return the correct result to the user."

hrtimer_enqueue_reprogram contains a race which could result in
timer.base switch during unlock/lock sequence.
hrtimer_enqueue_reprogram is releasing the lock protecting the timer
base for calling raise_softirq_irqsoff() due to a lock ordering issue
versus rq->lock.
If during that time another CPU calls __hrtimer_start_range_ns() on
the same hrtimer, the timer base might switch, before the current CPU
can lock base->lock again and therefor the unlock_timer_base() call
will unlock the wrong lock.

Since mesh_plink_quiesce() would unconditionally delete
the plink timer, and the timer initialization was recently
moved into the mesh code path, suspending with a non-mesh
interface now causes a crash. Fix this by only deleting
the plink timer for mesh interfaces.

This change corrects the fact that we were using 1522 to test for the
max frame size in ixgbe_change_mtu and 1518 in ixgbe_set_vf_lpe. The
difference was the addition of VLAN_HLEN which we only need to add in the case
of computing a buffer size, but not a filter size.

The rmb in the Tx cleanup path is a much stronger barrier than we really need.
All that is really needed is a read_barrier_depends since the location of the
EOP descriptor is dependent on the eop_desc value.

This patch removes the rval variable returns from function and replaces
them with direct returns in ixgbe_dcbnl_getnumtcs. It also changes how
ixgbe_gstrings_test is copied into data with memcpy in ixgbe_get_strings
because "*ixgbe_gstrings_test too small (32 vs 160)".

The RTC control register should be enabled in the process of
initializing.
Without this patch, I failed to enable RTC in Hisilicon Hi3620 SoC. The
register mapping section in RTC is always read as zero. So I doubt that
ST guys may already enable this register in bootloader. So they won't
meet this issue.

The seccomp filters are currently built for the build host, not for the
machine that they are going to run on, but they are also built for with
the -m32 flag if the kernel is built for a 32 bit machine, both of which
seems rather odd.
It broke allyesconfig on my machine, which is x86-64, but building for
32 bit ARM, with this error message:

/usr/include/features.h:324:26: fatal error: bits/predefs.h: No such file or directory
because there are no 32 bit libc headers installed on this machine. We
should really be building all the samples for the target machine rather
than the build host, but since the infrastructure for that appears to be
missing right now, let's be a little bit smarter and not pass the '-m32'
flag to the HOSTCC when cross- compiling.

Commit 74349bccedb3 ("checkpatch: add support for floating point
constants") added an unnecessary match variable that caused tests that
used a $Constant or $LvalOrFunc to have one too many matches.
This causes problems with usleep_range, min/max and other extended
tests.
Avoid using match variables in $Float.
Avoid using match variables in $Assignment too.

The macro for_each_memcg_cache_index contains a silly yet potentially
deadly mistake. Although the macro parameter is _idx, the loop tests
are done over i, not _idx.
This hasn't generated any problems so far, because all users use i as a
loop index. However, while playing with an extension of the code I
ended using another loop index and the compiler was quick to complain.
Unfortunately, this is not the kind of thing that testing reveals =(

remove_migration_pte
When setting a huge PTE, besides calling pte_mkhuge(), we also need to
call arch_make_huge_pte(), which we indeed do in make_huge_pte(), but we
forget to do in hugetlb_change_protection() and remove_migration_pte().

The year field is incorrectly masked when setting the date. If the year
is beyond 2099, the year field will be incorrectly updated in hardware.

There exists a situation when GC can work in background alone without
any other filesystem activity during significant time.
The nilfs_clean_segments() method calls nilfs_segctor_construct() that
updates superblocks in the case of NILFS_SC_SUPER_ROOT and
THE_NILFS_DISCONTINUED flags are set. But when GC is working alone the
nilfs_clean_segments() is called with unset THE_NILFS_DISCONTINUED flag.
As a result, the update of superblocks doesn't occurred all this time
and in the case of SPOR superblocks keep very old values of last super
root placement.
SYMPTOMS:
Trying to mount a NILFS2 volume after SPOR in such environment ends with
very long mounting time (it can achieve about several hours in some
cases).
REPRODUCING PATH:
1. It needs to use external USB HDD, disable automount and doesn't
make any additional filesystem activity on the NILFS2 volume.
2. Generate temporary file with size about 100 - 500 GB (for example,
dd if=/dev/zero of=<file_name> bs=1073741824 count=200). The size of
file defines duration of GC working.
3. Then it needs to delete file.
4. Start GC manually by means of command "nilfs-clean -p 0". When you
start GC by means of such way then, at the end, superblocks is updated
by once. So, for simulation of SPOR, it needs to wait sometime (15 -
40 minutes) and simply switch off USB HDD manually.
5. Switch on USB HDD again and try to mount NILFS2 volume. As a
result, NILFS2 volume will mount during very long time.
REPRODUCIBILITY: 100%
FIX:
This patch adds checking that superblocks need to update and set
THE_NILFS_DISCONTINUED flag before nilfs_clean_segments() call.

There are enough register offsets to warrant being in their own header
file, and doing so logically separates them from other header file content.
They have been converted from an enumerated data type to #defines as is
done in all the other Intel wired ethernet drivers.

This patch replaces the global lock to one lock per subsystem.
The per-subsystem lock avoids that processes operating
with different subsystems are synchronized.

The reason is that the commit also changed the allocation of the
Rx and error handling irq structs to be skipped for !MQ_MG_MODE.
In the !MQ_MG_MODE case, only the Tx irq struct is allocated.
Digging further, we see that MQ_MG_MODE is set only if we find
the OF compatible string "fsl,etsec2".
A quick grep in the dts directory shows lots of boards that support
Rx/Tx/Err, but without this specific compat string. And hence they
go after the unallocated Rx/Error structs and cause the above oops.
Hence such a change can not be deployed until all the dts files
are updated and sufficiently deployed. Further, the optimization
is of limited value, since the kmalloc'd struct in question has only
a single unsigned int, and an (IFNAMSIZ + 6) sized string.
Note that no changes to the freeing code are needed here, as it
already did an unconditional free of Rx/Tx/Error gfar_irqinfo.

NETFILTER_XT_MATCH_CONNLABEL=y.
