2012-03-12mac80211: set channel back after disassociatingJohannes Berg
As we've discussed, we want to avoid channel changes while associated. While the part when we actually associate needs a bit more work, the bit that happens on disassociating can be changed quite easily. Move the channel type change later in the disassociate process to set the channel only after the driver was told that it's now disassociated. As the driver could expect powersave to be enabled only when associated, this thus results in splitting the config call, but overall what happens makes more sense this way. 2012-03-12mac80211: Limit TID buffering during BA session setup/teardownHelmut Schaa
While setting up or tearing down a BA session mac80211 is buffering pending frames for the according TID. However, there's currently no limit on how many frames are buffered possibly leading to an out-of- memory situation. This can happen on systems with little memory when the CPU is fully loaded since the BA session work is executed in process context while frames can still come via softirq. 2012-03-12rt2x00: fix random stallsStanislaw Gruszka
Is possible that we stop queue and then do not wake up it again, especially when packets are transmitted fast. That can be easily reproduced with modified tx queue entry_num to some small value e.g. 16. If mac80211 already hold local->queue_stop_reason_lock, then we can wait on that lock in both rt2x00queue_pause_queue() and rt2x00queue_unpause_queue(). After drooping ->queue_stop_reason_lock is possible that __ieee80211_wake_queue() will be performed before __ieee80211_stop_queue(), hence we stop queue and newer wake up it again. Another race condition is possible when between rt2x00queue_threshold() check and rt2x00queue_pause_queue() we will process all pending tx buffers on different cpu. This might happen if for example interrupt will be triggered on cpu performing rt2x00mac_tx(). To prevent race conditions serialize pause/unpause by queue->tx_lock. 2012-03-12iwl3945: fix possible il->txq NULL pointer dereference in delayed worksStanislaw Gruszka
On il3945_down procedure we free tx queue data and nullify il->txq pointer. After that we drop mutex and then cancel delayed works. There is possibility, that after drooping mutex and before the cancel, some delayed work will start and crash while trying to send commands to the device. 2012-03-12regulator: Support driver probe deferralMark Brown
If we fail to locate a requested regulator return -EPROBE_DEFER. If drivers pass this error code through to their caller (which they really should) then this will ensure that the probe is retried later when further devices become available. In the unusual case where a driver doesn't want this it can override the default behaviour. 2012-03-12xHCI: BESL calculation based on USB2.0 LPM errataAndiry Xu
The latest released errata for USB2.0 ECN LPM adds new fields to USB2.0 extension descriptor, defines two BESL values for device: baseline BESL and deep BESL. Baseline BESL value communicates a nominal power savings design point and the deep BESL value communicates a significant power savings design point. If device indicates BESL value, driver will use a value count in both host BESL and device BESL. Use baseline BESL value as default. We have several reports which says acer-wmi is loaded on ideapads and register rfkill for wifi which can not be unblocked. Since ideapad-laptop also register rfkill for wifi and it works reliably, it will be fine acer-wmi is not going to register rfkill for wifi once VPC2004 is found. Also put IBM0068/LEN0068 in the list. Though thinkpad_acpi has no wifi rfkill capability, there are reports which says acer-wmi also block wireless on Thinkpad E520/E420. Primarily it allows for the automatic detection of the tablet/notebook mode for convertible tablet pc's, and orientation for docked slates. When the quirk HID_QUIRK_MULTITOUCH is present and when hid-multitouch is loaded, let's pass the device to hid-multitouch even if it has not been registered in hid-multitouch. If any other driver wants to take precedence over hid-multitouch, the usual way of adding it to hid_have_special_driver will work as the quirk HID_QUIRK_MULTITOUCH won't be set by the generic hid layer. Use a more current kernel messaging style. Convert a printk block to print_hex_dump. Coalesce formats, align arguments. Use %s, __func__ instead of embedding function names. Some messages that were prefixed with <foo>_close are now prefixed with <foo>_fini. Some ah4 and esp messages are now not prefixed with "ip ". The intent of this patch is to later add something like #define pr_fmt(fmt) "IPv4: " fmt. to standardize the output messages. Text size is trivially reduced. 2012-03-11tcp: fix syncookie regressionEric Dumazet
commit ea4fc0d619 (ipv4: Don't use rt->rt_{src,dst} in ip_queue_xmit()) added a serious regression on synflood handling. Simon Kirby discovered a successful connection was delayed by 20 seconds before being responsive. In my tests, I discovered that xmit frames were lost, and needed ~4 retransmits and a socket dst rebuild before being really sent. In case of syncookie initiated connection, we use a different path to initialize the socket dst, and inet->cork.fl.u.ip4 is left cleared. As ip_queue_xmit() now depends on inet flow being setup, fix this by copying the temp flowi4 we use in cookie_v4_check().
