2012-11-23aoe: avoid running request handler on plugged queueEd Cashin
Calling the request handler directly on a plugged queue defeats the performance improvements provided by the plugging mechanism. Use the __blk_run_queue function instead of calling the request handler directly, so that we don't interfere with the block layer's ability to plug the queue. 2012-11-23mtip32xx: fix shift larger than type warningJens Axboe

2012-11-23dm: fix deadlock with request based dm and queue request_fn recursionJens Axboe
Request based dm attempts to re-run the request queue off the request completion path. If used with a driver that potentially does end_io from its request_fn, we could deadlock trying to recurse back into request dispatch. Fix this by punting the request queue run to kblockd. 2012-11-23ARM: 7583/1: decompressor: Enable unaligned memory access for v6 and aboveDave Martin
Modern GCC can generate code which makes use of the CPU's native unaligned memory access capabilities. This is useful for the C decompressor implementations used for unpacking compressed kernels. This patch disables alignment faults and enables the v6 unaligned access model on CPUs which support these features (i.e., v6 and later), allowing full unaligned access support for C code in the decompressor. The decompressor C code must not be built to assume that unaligned access works if support for v5 or older platforms is included in the kernel. For correct code generation, C decompressor code must always use the get_unaligned and put_unaligned accessors when dealing with unaligned pointers, regardless of this patch. 2012-11-23ARM: 7585/1: kernel: fix nr_cpu_ids check in DT logical map initLorenzo Pieralisi
If a kernel is configured with a DT containing more /cpu nodes than nr_cpu_ids, the number of cpus must be capped in the DT parsing code. Current code carries out the check, but fails to cap the value and the check is executed after the cpu logical index is used, which can lead to memory corruption due to index overflow. This patch refactors the check against nr_cpu_ids and move it before any computed index is used in the parsing code. 2012-11-23i2c / ACPI: add ACPI enumeration supportMika Westerberg
ACPI 5 introduced I2cSerialBus resource that makes it possible to enumerate and configure the I2C slave devices behind the I2C controller. This patch adds helper functions to support I2C slave enumeration. An ACPI enabled I2C controller driver only needs to call acpi_i2c_register_devices() in order to get its slave devices enumerated, created and bound to the corresponding ACPI handle. 2012-11-22ipv4: do not cache looped multicastsJulian Anastasov
Starting from 3.6 we cache output routes for multicasts only when using route to 224/4. For local receivers we can set RTCF_LOCAL flag depending on the membership but in such case we use maddr and saddr which are not caching keys as before. Additionally, we can not use same place to cache routes that differ in RTCF_LOCAL flag value. Fix it by caching only RTCF_MULTICAST entries without RTCF_LOCAL (send-only, no loopback). As a side effect, we avoid unneeded lookup for fnhe when not caching because multicasts are not redirected and they do not learn PMTU. Thanks to Maxime Bizon for showing the caching problems in __mkroute_output for 3.6 kernels: different RTCF_LOCAL flag in cache can lead to wrong ip_mc_output or ip_output call and the visible problem is that traffic can not reach local receivers via loopback. Inherit netprio configuration from ->css_online(), allow nesting and remove .broken_hierarchy marking. This makes netprio_cgroup's behavior match netcls_cgroup's. Note that this patch changes userland-visible behavior. Nesting is allowed and the first level cgroups below the root cgroup behave differently - they inherit priorities from the root cgroup on creation instead of starting with 0. netprio kept track of the highest prioidx allocated and resized priomaps accordingly when necessary. This makes it necessary to keep track of prioidx allocation and may end up resizing on every new prioidx. Update extend_netdev_table() such that it takes @target_idx which the priomap should be able to accomodate. .broken_hierarchy marking It turns out that we'll have to live with attributes which are inherited at cgroup creation time but not affected by further updates to the parent afterwards - such attributes are already in wide use e.g. for cpuset. So, there's nothing to do for netcls_cgroup for hierarchy support. Its current behavior - inherit only during creation - is good enough. Move config inheriting from ->css_alloc() to ->css_online() for consistency, which doesn't change behavior at all, and remove .broken_hierarchy marking. In current code the ethernet PLL is not handled correctly. The PLL runs at 500MHz and has different outputs. Only the enet reference clock is implemented. This patch changes the PLL so that it outputs 500MHz and adds the additional outputs as dividers. This now matches the datasheet which says: > This PLL synthesizes a low jitter clock from 24 MHz reference clock. > The PLL outputs a 500 MHz clock. The reference clocks generated by this PLL are: > • Ref_PCIe = 125 MHz > • Ref_SATA = 100 MHz > • Ref_ethernet, which is configurable based on the PLL_ENET[1:0] register field. Since the MT9V022_TOTAL_SHUTTER_WIDTH register is controlled in manual mode by V4L2_CID_EXPOSURE control, it shouldn't be written directly in mt9v022_s_crop(). In manual mode this register should be set to the V4L2_CID_EXPOSURE control value. Changing this register directly and outside of the actual control function means that the register value is not in sync with the corresponding control value. Thus, the following problem is observed: - setting this control initially succeeds - VIDIOC_S_CROP ioctl() overwrites the MT9V022_TOTAL_SHUTTER_WIDTH register - setting this control to the same value again doesn't result in setting the register since the control value was previously cached and doesn't differ Remove MT9V022_TOTAL_SHUTTER_WIDTH register setting in mt9v022_s_crop() and add a comment explaining why it is not needed in manual mode.
