2024-02-05net/mlx5: DR, Change SWS usage to debug fs seq_file interfaceHamdan Igbaria
In current SWS debug dump mechanism we implement the seq_file interface, but we only implement the 'show' callback to dump the whole steering DB with a single call to this callback. However, for large data size the seq_printf function will fail to allocate a buffer with the adequate capacity to hold such data. 2024-02-05net/mlx5: Return specific error code for timeout on wait_fw_initMoshe Shemesh
The function wait_fw_init() returns same error code either if it breaks waiting due to timeout or other reason. Thus, the function callers print error message on timeout without checking error type. Return different error code for different failure reason and print error message accordingly on wait_fw_init(). 2024-02-05net/mlx5: SF, Stop waiting for FW as teardown was calledMoshe Shemesh
When PF/VF teardown is called the driver sets the flag MLX5_BREAK_FW_WAIT to stop waiting for FW loading and initializing. Same should be applied to SF driver teardown to cut waiting time. On mlx5_sf_dev_remove() set the flag before draining health WQ as recovery flow may also wait for FW reloading while it is not relevant anymore. LUNs going into "failed ready running" state observed on >1T and on even numbers of size (2T, 4T, 6T, 8T and 10T). The issue occurs when DIF is enabled at the host. The return type lpfc_bg_setup_sgl()/lpfc_bg_setup_sgl_prot() causes the compiler to remove the most significant bit. Use an unsigned type instead. 2024-02-05scsi: core: Move scsi_host_busy() out of host lock if it is for per-commandMing Lei
Commit 4373534a9850 ("scsi: core: Move scsi_host_busy() out of host lock for waking up EH handler") intended to fix a hard lockup issue triggered by EH. The core idea was to move scsi_host_busy() out of the host lock when processing individual commands for EH. However, a suggested style change inadvertently caused scsi_host_busy() to remain under the host lock. Fix this by calling scsi_host_busy() outside the lock. 2024-02-05wifi: cw1200: Convert to GPIO descriptorsLinus Walleij
The CW1200 uses two GPIOs to control the powerup and reset pins, get these from GPIO descriptors instead of being passed as platform data from boardfiles. The RESET line will need to be marked as active low as we will let gpiolib handle the polarity inversion. The SDIO case is a bit special since the "card" need to be powered up before it gets detected on the SDIO bus and properly probed. Fix this by using board-specific GPIOs assigned to device "NULL". There are currently no in-tree users. 2024-02-05drm/nouveau: fix several DMA buffer leaksTimur Tabi
Nouveau manages GSP-RM DMA buffers with nvkm_gsp_mem objects. Several of these buffers are never dealloced. Some of them can be deallocated right after GSP-RM is initialized, but the rest need to stay until the driver unloads. Also futher bullet-proof these objects by poisoning the buffer and clearing the nvkm_gsp_mem object when it is deallocated. Poisoning the buffer should trigger an error (or crash) from GSP-RM if it tries to access the buffer after we've deallocated it, because we were wrong about when it is safe to deallocate. Finally, change the mem->size field to a size_t because that's the same type that dma_alloc_coherent expects. Currently, at the end of ath11k_mac_fill_reg_tpc_info(), the reg_tpc_info struct is populated, including the following: reg_tpc_info->is_psd_power = is_psd_power; reg_tpc_info->eirp_power = eirp_power; Kernel test robot complains on uninitialized symbol: drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath11k/mac.c:7949 ath11k_mac_fill_reg_tpc_info() error: uninitialized symbol 'eirp_power'. This is because there are some code paths that never set eirp_power, so the assignment of reg_tpc_info->eirp_power can come from an uninitialized variable. Functionally this is OK since the eirp_power only has meaning when is_psd_power is true, and all code paths which set is_psd_power to true also set eirp_power. However, to keep the robot happy, always initialize eirp_power before use. This is because there are some code paths that never set them, so the assignment of max_nss can come from uninitialized variables. This could result in some unknown issues since a wrong peer_nss might be passed to firmware. Change to initialize them to an invalid value at the beginning. 2024-02-05net: marvell,prestera: Fix example PCI bus addressingRob Herring
The example for PCI devices has some addressing errors. 'reg' is written as if the parent bus is PCI, but the default bus for examples is 1 address and size cell. 'ranges' is defining config space with a size of 0. Generally, config space should not be defined in 'ranges', only PCI memory and I/O spaces. Fix these issues by updating the values with made-up, but valid values. This was uncovered with recent dtschema changes. 2024-02-05nfsd: don't take fi_lock in nfsd_break_deleg_cb()NeilBrown
A recent change to check_for_locks() changed it to take ->flc_lock while holding ->fi_lock. This creates a lock inversion (reported by lockdep) because there is a case where ->fi_lock is taken while holding ->flc_lock. ->flc_lock is held across ->fl_lmops callbacks, and nfsd_break_deleg_cb() is one of those and does take ->fi_lock. However it doesn't need to. Prior to v4.17-rc1~110^2~22 ("nfsd: create a separate lease for each delegation") nfsd_break_deleg_cb() would walk the ->fi_delegations list and so needed the lock. Since then it doesn't walk the list and doesn't need the lock. Two actions are performed under the lock. One is to call nfsd_break_one_deleg which calls nfsd4_run_cb(). These doesn't act on the nfs4_file at all, so don't need the lock. The other is to set ->fi_had_conflict which is in the nfs4_file. This field is only ever set here (except when initialised to false) so there is no possible problem will multiple threads racing when setting it. The field is tested twice in nfs4_set_delegation(). The first test does not hold a lock and is documented as an opportunistic optimisation, so it doesn't impose any need to hold ->fi_lock while setting ->fi_had_conflict. The second test in nfs4_set_delegation() *is* make under ->fi_lock, so removing the locking when ->fi_had_conflict is set could make a change. The change could only be interesting if ->fi_had_conflict tested as false even though nfsd_break_one_deleg() ran before ->fi_lock was unlocked. i.e. while hash_delegation_locked() was running. As hash_delegation_lock() doesn't interact in any way with nfs4_run_cb() there can be no importance to this interaction. So this patch removes the locking from nfsd_break_one_deleg() and moves the final test on ->fi_had_conflict out of the locked region to make it clear that locking isn't important to the test. It is still tested *after* vfs_setlease() has succeeded. This might be significant and as vfs_setlease() takes ->flc_lock, and nfsd_break_one_deleg() is called under ->flc_lock this "after" is a true ordering provided by a spinlock. It was pointed out during the review [1] of commit e66bf63a7f67 ("net: dsa: qca8k: skip MDIO bus creation if its OF node has status = "disabled"") that we now leak a reference to the "mdio" OF node if it is disabled. This is only a concern when using dynamic OF as far as I can tell (like probing on an overlay), since OF nodes are never freed in the regular case. Additionally, I'm unaware of any actual device trees (in production or elsewhere) which have status = "disabled" for the MDIO OF node. So handling this as a simple enhancement. In very slow environments, most big TCP cases including segmentation and reassembly of big TCP packets have a good chance to fail: by default the TCP client uses write size well below 64K. If the host is low enough autocorking is unable to build real big TCP packets. Address the issue using much larger write operations. Note that is hard to observe the issue without an extremely slow and/or overloaded environment; reduce the TCP transfer time to allow for much easier/faster reproducibility. 2024-02-05rxrpc: Fix counting of new acks and nacksDavid Howells
Fix the counting of new acks and nacks when parsing a packet - something that is used in congestion control. As the code stands, it merely notes if there are any nacks whereas what we really should do is compare the previous SACK table to the new one, assuming we get two successive ACK packets with nacks in them. However, we really don't want to do that if we can avoid it as the tables might not correspond directly as one may be shifted from the other - something that will only get harder to deal with once extended ACK tables come into full use (with a capacity of up to 8192). Instead, count the number of nacks shifted out of the old SACK, the number of nacks retained in the portion still active and the number of new acks and nacks in the new table then calculate what we need. Note this ends up a bit of an estimate as the Rx protocol allows acks to be withdrawn by the receiver and packets requested to be retransmitted.
