2012-10-16drm/nouveau/pm: do not stop reclocking if failing to set the fan speedMartin Peres
With the introduction of fan management modes, fan may not be drivable. We should allow reclocking nonetheless. This return was stupid to begin with since it may have left the card in an intermediate state (clocks corresponding to a perflvl and voltage corresponding to another one). The reclocking code will need to be rewritten in a near-future in order to provide a better error handling. Fix tagtable definition attributes so that tag entries are not dropped. Fix end of memory bank calculation in parse_tag_mem: it is intended to round down to page size, but instead did something strange leading to hang right after boot. 2012-10-15xtensa: copy_thread with CLONE_VM must not copy live parent AR windowsMarc Gauthier
When doing a fork (new VM), the new task has a mirror image of the parent's stack, so keeps the same live register windows etc. However when doing a clone with CLONE_VM, keeping the same VM (eg. when creating a new thread), the child starts afresh on a new stack -- it cannot share any part of the parent stack. It especially cannot have the same live AR windows as the parent, otherwise it will overwrite the parent stack on overflow, likely causing corruption. (and so it did...) Effectively, the register windows need to be spilled. Turns out it's much easier to simply not copy parent register windows when CLONE_VM is set. 2012-10-15ARM: OMAP: Trivial driver changes to remove include plat/cpu.hTony Lindgren
Drivers should not use cpu_is_omap or cpu_class_is_omap macros, they should be private to the platform init code. And we'll be removing plat/cpu.h and only have a private soc.h for the arch/arm/*omap* code. This patch is intended as preparation for the core omap changes and removes the need to include plat/cpu.h from several drivers. This is needed for the ARM common zImage support. Commit 023614183768 ("thermal: add generic cpufreq cooling implementation") requires cpufreq_frequency_get_table(), but that function is only defined for CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_TABLE resulting in the following build error: drivers/built-in.o: In function `cpufreq_get_max_state': drivers/thermal/cpu_cooling.c:259: undefined reference to `cpufreq_frequency_get_table' drivers/built-in.o: In function `get_cpu_frequency': drivers/thermal/cpu_cooling.c:129: undefined reference to `cpufreq_frequency_get_table' Fix it by selecting CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_TABLE for such a configuration. It turns out CONFIG_EXYNOS_THERMAL also needs CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_TABLE, so select it there as well. 2012-10-15mmc: omap: Remove cpu_is_omap usage from the driverTony Lindgren
This is needed for the ARM common zImage support. We can use the existing slot features to pass omap1 specific options to the driver. For omap2 we don't want to pass anything new as that will be eventually moved to use device tree based init. 2012-10-15brcmfmac: fix end of loop check (signedness bug)Dan Carpenter
The problem here is that we loop until "remained_buf_len" is less than zero, but since it is unsigned, it never is. "remained_buf_len" has to be large enough to hold the value from "mgmt_ie_buf_len". That variable is type u32, but it only holds small values so I have changed to both variables to int. Also I removed the bogus initialization from "mgmt_ie_buf_len" so that GCC can detect if it is used unitialized. I moved the declaration of "remained_buf_len" closer to where it is used so it's easier to read. This patch fix corruption which can manifest itself by following crash when switching on rfkill switch with rt2x00 driver: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/attachment.cgi?id=615362 Pointer key->u.ccmp.tfm of group key get corrupted in: ieee80211_rx_h_michael_mic_verify(): /* update IV in key information to be able to detect replays */ rx->key->u.tkip.rx[rx->security_idx].iv32 = rx->tkip_iv32; rx->key->u.tkip.rx[rx->security_idx].iv16 = rx->tkip_iv16; because rt2x00 always set RX_FLAG_MMIC_STRIPPED, even if key is not TKIP. We already check type of the key in different path in ieee80211_rx_h_michael_mic_verify() function, so adding additional check here is reasonable. radeon_i2c_fini() walks thru the list of I2C bus recs rdev->i2c_bus[] to destroy each of them. radeon_ext_tmds_enc_destroy() however also has code to destroy it's associated I2C bus rec which has been obtained by radeon_i2c_lookup() and is therefore also in the i2c_bus[] list. This causes a double free resulting in a kernel panic when unloading the radeon driver.
