Instead, use the tail of the RXQ to pick the associated RXQ entry This fix is required in preparation for supporting RXQ lengths greater than 1K. For such queues, the frag index in the RX-compl entry is not valid as it is only a 10 bit entry not capable of addressing RXQs longer than 1K. 2014-01-15be2net: fix incorrect setting of cmd_privileges for VFsSuresh Reddy
An earlier commit (f25b119c "Fix error messages while driver load for VFs") incorrectly set the adapter->cmd_privileges value for VFs (in a multi-channel config) to MAX_PRIVILEGES. This causes FW cmd failures and avoidable error logs when certian cmds are issued by a VF. Also, move the multi-channel hack to be_cmds.c inside be_cmd_get_fn_privileges() routine. 2014-01-15be2net: ignore mac-addr set call for an already programmed mac-addrVasundhara Volam
An ndo_set_mac_addr() call may be issued for a mac-addr that is already active on an interface. If so, silently ignore the request. Sending such a request to the FW, causes a "mac collision" error. The error is harmless but is avoidable noise in the kernel log. Skyhawk-R FW does not support SET/GET_EXT_FAT_CAPABILITIES cmds via which FW logging level can be controlled. Also, the hack used in BE3 to control FW logging level via the ethtool interface is not needed in Skyhawk-R. This patch also cleans up this code by moving be_set/get_fw_log_level() routines to be_cmds.c where they belong. Instead of introducing Makefile/Kconfig hacks, build this code as a separate module referenced from both ieee802154 and bluetooth modules. 2014-01-15net: rename sysfs symlinks on device name changeVeaceslav Falico
Currently, we don't rename the upper/lower_ifc symlinks in /sys/class/net/*/ , which might result stale/duplicate links/names. Fix this by adding netdev_adjacent_rename_links(dev, oldname) which renames all the upper/lower interface's links to dev from the upper/lower_oldname to the new name. We don't need a rollback because only we control these symlinks and if we fail to rename them - sysfs will anyway complain. 2014-01-16sched/nohz: Fix overflow error in scheduler_tick_max_deferment()Kevin Hilman
While calculating the scheduler tick max deferment, the delta is converted from microseconds to nanoseconds through a multiplication against NSEC_PER_USEC. But this microseconds operand is an unsigned int, thus the result may likely overflow. The result is cast to u64 but only once the operation is completed, which is too late to avoid overflown result. This is currently not a problem because the scheduler tick max deferment is 1 second. But this may become an issue as we plan to make this value tunable. So lets fix this by casting the usecs value to u64 before multiplying by NSECS_PER_USEC. Also to prevent from this kind of mistake to happen again, move this ad-hoc jiffies -> nsecs conversion to a new helper. 2014-01-16md/raid5: fix long-standing problem with bitmap handling on write failure.NeilBrown
Before a write starts we set a bit in the write-intent bitmap. When the write completes we clear that bit if the write was successful to all devices. However if the write wasn't fully successful we should not clear the bit. If the faulty drive is subsequently re-added, the fact that the bit is still set ensure that we will re-write the data that is missing. This logic is mediated by the STRIPE_DEGRADED flag - we only clear the bitmap bit when this flag is not set. Currently we correctly set the flag if a write starts when some devices are failed or missing. But we do *not* set the flag if some device failed during the write attempt. This is wrong and can result in clearing the bit inappropriately. So: set the flag when a write fails. This bug has been present since bitmaps were introduces, so the fix is suitable for any -stable kernel. We don't need to fetch the timekeeping max deferment under the jiffies_lock seqlock. If the clocksource is updated concurrently while we stop the tick, stop machine is called and the tick will be reevaluated again along with uptodate jiffies and its related values. 2014-01-15tick: Rename tick_check_idle() to tick_irq_enter()Frederic Weisbecker
This makes the code more symetric against the existing tick functions called on irq exit: tick_irq_exit() and tick_nohz_irq_exit(). These function are also symetric as they mirror each other's action: we start to account idle time on irq exit and we stop this accounting on irq entry. Also the tick is stopped on irq exit and timekeeping catches up with the tickless time elapsed until we reach irq entry. This rename was suggested by Peter Zijlstra a long while ago but it got forgotten in the mass. Verify that the cmd parameter passed to md_ioctl() is valid before doing anything. This fixes mddev->hold_active being set to 0 when an invalid ioctl command is passed to md_ioctl() before the array has been configured.
