2016-10-24NFSv4.1: work around -Wmaybe-uninitialized warningArnd Bergmann
A bugfix introduced a harmless gcc warning in nfs4_slot_seqid_in_use if we enable -Wmaybe-uninitialized again: fs/nfs/nfs4session.c:203:54: error: 'cur_seq' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized] gcc is not smart enough to conclude that the IS_ERR/PTR_ERR pair results in a nonzero return value here. Using PTR_ERR_OR_ZERO() instead makes this clear to the compiler. The warning originally did not appear in v4.8 as it was globally disabled, but the bugfix that introduced the warning got backported to stable kernels which again enable it, and this is now the only warning in the v4.7 builds. 2016-10-24ASoC: ak4641: Move register defines to main sourceLars-Peter Clausen
The ak4641 driver only has a few register defines. As they are only used in the one main driver file there is not really a need to keep them in a separate header. Moving them to the main source file allows to remove the now empty header file completely. Signed-off-by: Lars-Peter Clausen <lars@metafoo.de> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>

2016-10-24ASoC: ak4641: Remove unused DAI ID definesLars-Peter Clausen
The DAI ID defines are back from the time when DAIs were referenced by a numerical ID. These days a string is used for matching instead and the defines are unused. This driver was merged after the change of DAIs are matched was made and the IDs were never used and presumably never will be, so remove them. 2016-10-24ASoC: es8328: Remove some unused definesLars-Peter Clausen
The es8328 drivers seems to have used the wm8753 driver as a template. Its header file contains a few defines that are copied verbatim from the wm8753 header that do not really apply to this driver and are unused. So remove those defines. This seems safe as they deal with PLL and clock divider settings and the es8328 driver neither implements a set_pll() nor a set_clkdiv() callback. 2016-10-24mei: txe: don't clean an unprocessed interrupt cause.Alexander Usyskin
SEC registers are not accessible when the TXE device is in low power state, hence the SEC interrupt cannot be processed if device is not awake. In some rare cases entrance to low power state (aliveness off) and input ready bits can be signaled at the same time, resulting in communication stall as input ready won't be signaled again after waking up. To resolve this IPC_HHIER_SEC bit in HHISR_REG should not be cleaned if the interrupt is not processed. 2016-10-24spi: mark device nodes only in case of successful instantiationRalf Ramsauer
Instantiated SPI device nodes are marked with OF_POPULATE. This was introduced in bd6c164. On unloading, loaded device nodes will of course be unmarked. The problem are nodes that fail during initialisation: If a node fails, it won't be unloaded and hence not be unmarked. If a SPI driver module is unloaded and reloaded, it will skip nodes that failed before. Skip device nodes that are already populated and mark them only in case of success. Note that the same issue exists for I2C. 2016-10-24ASoC: wm8580: Add the wm8581 codec to the driverMatt Flax
This patch adds support for the wm8581 codec to the wm8580 driver. The wm8581 codec hardware adds a fourth DAC and otherwise is compatible with the wm8580 codec. of_device_id data is used to allow the driver to select the suitable DAC count specified in the device tree codec selection. The wm8580_driver_data struct is used to store the number of DACs. The snd_soc_dai_driver no longer lists the channels_max for the playback substream. This variable is set during the i2c probe from the of_device_id supplied wm8580_driver_data struct. With knowledge of the number of DACs in use, the DAC4 controls, widgets and routes are added as required for DAC4. The device tree documentation for the wm8580 is altered to list the wm8581 codec support, as is the Kconfig file. 2016-10-24ARCv2: IOC: use @ioc_enable not @ioc_exist where intendedVineet Gupta
if user disables IOC from debugger at startup (by clearing @ioc_enable), @ioc_exists is cleared too. This means boot prints don't capture the fact that IOC was present but disabled which could be misleading. So invert how we use @ioc_enable and @ioc_exists and make it more canonical. @ioc_exists represent whether hardware is present or not and stays same whether enabled or not. @ioc_enable is still user driven, but will be auto-disabled if IOC hardware is not present, i.e. if @ioc_exist=0. This is opposite to what we were doing before, but much clearer. This means @ioc_enable is now the "exported" toggle in rest of code such as dma mapping API. 2016-10-24ARC: syscall for userspace cmpxchg assistVineet Gupta
Older ARC700 cores (ARC750 specifically) lack instructions to implement atomic r-w-w. This is problematic for userspace libraries such as NPTL which need atomic primitives. So enable them by providing kernel assist. This is costly but really the only sane soluton (othern than tight spinning using the otherwise availiable atomic exchange EX instruciton).
