2012-12-15NFS: Don't use SetPageError in the NFS writeback codeTrond Myklebust
The writeback code is already capable of passing errors back to user space by means of the open_context->error. In the case of ENOSPC, Neil Brown is reporting seeing 2 errors being returned. Neil writes: "e.g. if /mnt2/ if an nfs mounted filesystem that has no space then strace dd if=/dev/zero conv=fsync >> /mnt2/afile count=1 reported Input/output error and the relevant parts of the strace output are: write(1, "\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0"..., 512) = 512 fsync(1) = -1 EIO (Input/output error) close(1) = -1 ENOSPC (No space left on device)" Neil then shows that the duplication of error messages appears to be due to the use of the PageError() mechanism, which causes filemap_fdatawait_range to return the extra EIO. The regression was introduced by commit 7b281ee026552f10862b617a2a51acf49c829554 (NFS: fsync() must exit with an error if page writeback failed). Fix this by removing the call to SetPageError(), and just relying on open_context->error reporting the ENOSPC back to fsync(). If an RPC call is interrupted, assume that the server hasn't processed the RPC call so that the next time we use the slot, we know that if we get a NFS4ERR_SEQ_MISORDERED or NFS4ERR_SEQ_FALSE_RETRY, we just have to bump the sequence number. This reverts commit 53b87cf088e2ea68d7c59619d0214cc15bb76133. It causes odd bootup problems on x86-64. Markus Trippelsdorf gets a repeatable oops, and I see a non-repeatable oops (or constant stream of messages that scroll off too quickly to read) that seems to go away with this commit reverted. So we don't know exactly what is wrong with the commit, but it's definitely problematic, and worth reverting sooner rather than later. If the server returns NFS4ERR_SEQ_MISORDERED, it could be a sign that the slot was retired at some point. Retry the attempt after reinitialising the slot sequence number to 1. When unsharing a user namespace we reduce our credentials to just what can be done in that user namespace. This is a subset of the credentials we previously had. Teach commit_creds to recognize this is a subset of the credentials we have had before and don't clear the dumpability flag. This allows an unprivileged program to do: unshare(CLONE_NEWUSER); fd = open("/proc/self/uid_map", O_RDWR); Where previously opening the uid_map writable would fail because the the task had been made non-dumpable. Andy Lutomirski <luto@amacapital.net> found a nasty little bug in the permissions of setns. With unprivileged user namespaces it became possible to create new namespaces without privilege. However the setns calls were relaxed to only require CAP_SYS_ADMIN in the user nameapce of the targed namespace. It is almost always wrong for NFS to call drop_nlink() after removing a file. What we really want is to mark the inode's attributes for revalidation, and we want to ensure that the VFS drops it if we're reasonably sure that this is the final unlink(). Do the former using the usual cache validity flags, and the latter by testing if inode->i_nlink == 1, and clearing it in that case. 2012-12-14Fix cap_capable to only allow owners in the parent user namespace to have caps.Eric W. Biederman
Andy Lutomirski pointed out that the current behavior of allowing the owner of a user namespace to have all caps when that owner is not in a parent user namespace is wrong. Add a test to ensure the owner of a user namespace is in the parent of the user namespace to fix this bug. Thankfully this bug did not apply to the initial user namespace, keeping the mischief that can be caused by this bug quite small. This is bug was introduced in v3.5 by commit 783291e6900 "Simplify the user_namespace by making userns->creator a kuid." But did not matter until the permisions required to create a user namespace were relaxed allowing a user namespace to be created inside of a user namespace. The bug made it possible for the owner of a user namespace to be present in a child user namespace. Since the owner of a user nameapce is granted all capabilities it became possible for users in a grandchild user namespace to have all privilges over their parent user namspace. Reorder the checks in cap_capable. This should make the common case faster and make it clear that nothing magic happens in the initial user namespace. The reordering is safe because cred->user_ns can only be in targ_ns or targ_ns->parent but not both. Add a comment a the top of the loop to make the logic of the code clear. Add a distinct variable ns that changes as we walk up the user namespace hierarchy to make it clear which variable is changing. This patch adds Image Post Processing(IPP) support for exynos drm driver. IPP supports image scaler/rotator and input/output DMA operations using IPP subsystem framework to control FIMC, Rotator and GSC hardware and supports some user interfaces for user side. And each IPP-based drivers support Memory to Memory operations with various converting. And in case of FIMC hardware, it also supports Writeback and Display output operations through local path. The properties could be pixel format, position, rotation degree and flip operation. And next, user should set source and destination buffer data using DRM_EXYNOS_IPP_QUEUE_BUF ioctl command with gem handles to source and destinition buffers. And next, user can control user-desired hardware with desired operations such as play, stop, pause and resume controls. And finally, user can aware of dma operation completion and also get destination buffer that it contains user-desried result through dequeue command.
