2019-06-10perf cs-etm: Add support for multiple traceID queuesMathieu Poirier
When operating in CPU-wide trace mode with a source/sink topology of N:1 packets with multiple traceID will end up in the same cs_etm_queue. In order to properly decode packets they need to be split in different queues, i.e one queue per traceID. As such add support for multiple traceID per cs_etm_queue by adding a new cs_etm_traceid_queue every time a new traceID is discovered in the trace stream. When working with CPU-wide traces different traceID may be found in the same stream. As such we need to use the decoder callback that provides the traceID in order to know the thread context being decoded. 2019-06-10perf cs-etm: Introduce the concept of trace ID queuesMathieu Poirier
In an ideal world there is one CPU per cs_etm_queue and as such, one trace ID per cs_etm_queue. In the real world CoreSight topologies allow multiple CPUs to use the same sink, which translates to multiple trace IDs per cs_etm_queue. To deal with this a new cs_etm_traceid_queue structure is introduced to enclose all the information related to a single trace ID, allowing a cs_etm_queue to handle traces generated by any number of CPUs. 2019-06-10perf record: Add support to collect callchains from kernel or user space onlyyuzhoujian
One can just record callchains in the kernel or user space with this new options. We can use it together with "--all-kernel" options. This two options is used just like print_stack(sys) or print_ustack(usr) for systemtap. Shown below is the usage of this new option combined with "--all-kernel" options: 1. Configure all used events to run in kernel space and just collect kernel callchains. $ perf record -a -g --all-kernel --kernel-callchains 2. Configure all used events to run in kernel space and just collect user callchains. $ perf record -a -g --all-kernel --user-callchains Committer notes: Improved documentation to state that asking for kernel callchains really is asking for excluding user callchains, and vice versa. So perf_config() uses: int ret = 0; perf_config_set__for_each_entry(config_set, section, item) { ... ret = fn(); if (ret < 0) break; } return ret; Expecting that that break will imediatelly go to function exit to return that error value (ret). The problem is that perf_config_set__for_each_entry() expands into two nested for() loops, one traversing the sections in a config and the second the items in each of those sections, so we have to change that 'break' to a goto label right before that final 'return ret'. 2019-06-10perf trace: Exit when failing to build eBPF programLeo Yan
On my Juno board with ARM64 CPUs, perf trace command reports the eBPF program building failure but the command will not exit and continue to run. If we define an eBPF event in config file, the event will be parsed with below flow: perf_config() `> trace__config() `> parse_events_option() `> parse_events__scanner() `-> parse_events_parse() `> parse_events_load_bpf() `> llvm__compile_bpf() Though the low level functions return back error values when detect eBPF building failure, but parse_events_option() returns 1 for this case and trace__config() passes 1 to perf_config(); perf_config() doesn't treat the returned value 1 as failure and it continues to parse other configurations. Thus the perf command continues to run even without enabling eBPF event successfully. This patch changes error handling in trace__config(), when it detects failure it will return -1 rather than directly pass error value (1); finally, perf_config() will directly bail out and perf will exit for this case. Committer notes: Simplified the patch to just check directly the return of parse_events_option() and it it is non-zero, change err from its initial zero value to -1. 2019-06-10drm/gem_shmem: Use a writecombine mapping for ->vaddrBoris Brezillon
Right now, the BO is mapped as a cached region when ->vmap() is called and the underlying object is not a dmabuf. Doing that makes cache management a bit more complicated (you'd need to call dma_map/unmap_sg() on the ->sgt field everytime the BO is about to be passed to the GPU/CPU), so let's map the BO with writecombine attributes instead (as done in most drivers). Packets received at the NFP driver may be redirected to egress of another netdev (e.g. in the case of OvS internal ports). On the egress path, some processes, like TC egress hooks, may expect the network header offset field in the skb to be correctly set. If this is not the case there is potential for abnormal behaviour and even the triggering of BUG() calls. Set the skb network header field before the mac header pull when doing a packet redirect. 2019-06-09tcp: fix undo spurious SYNACK in passive Fast OpenYuchung Cheng
Commit 794200d66273 ("tcp: undo cwnd on Fast Open spurious SYNACK retransmit") may cause tcp_fastretrans_alert() to warn about pending retransmission in Open state. This is triggered when the Fast Open server both sends data and has spurious SYNACK retransmission during the handshake, and the data packets were lost or reordered. The root cause is a bit complicated: (1) Upon receiving SYN-data: a full socket is created with snd_una = ISN + 1 by tcp_create_openreq_child() (2) On SYNACK timeout the server/sender enters CA_Loss state. (3) Upon receiving the final ACK to complete the handshake, sender does not mark FLAG_SND_UNA_ADVANCED since (1) Sender then calls tcp_process_loss since state is CA_loss by (2) (4) tcp_process_loss() does not invoke undo operations but instead mark REXMIT_LOST to force retransmission (5) tcp_rcv_synrecv_state_fastopen() calls tcp_try_undo_loss(). It changes state to CA_Open but has positive tp->retrans_out (6) Next ACK triggers the WARN_ON in tcp_fastretrans_alert() The step that goes wrong is (4) where the undo operation should have been invoked because the ACK successfully acknowledged the SYN sequence. This fixes that by specifically checking undo when the SYN-ACK sequence is acknowledged. Then after tcp_process_loss() the state would be further adjusted based in tcp_fastretrans_alert() to avoid triggering the warning in (6). The PHY driver is used by the X-Surf 100 ethernet card driver, and loaded by that driver via its PHY ID. A rename of the driver looks unproblematic. Rename PHY driver to ax88796b.c in order to resolve name conflict.
