2011-11-26ARM: 7176/1: cpu_pm: register GIC PM notifier only onceMarc Zyngier
When multiple GICs exist on a platform (RealView PB1176/11MP), we must make sure the PM notifier block is only registered once, otherwise we end up corrupting the PM notifier list. The fix is to only register the notifier when initializing the first GIC, as the power management functions seem to iterate over all the registered GICs. Tested on PB11MP and PB1176. 2011-11-26ARM: 7174/1: Fix build error in kprobes test code on Thumb2 kernelsJon Medhurst
When compiling kprobes-test-thumb.c an error like below may occur: /tmp/ccKcuJcG.s:19179: Error: offset out of range This is caused by the compiler underestimating the size of the inline assembler instructions containing ".space 0x1000" and failing to spill the literal pool in time to prevent the generation of PC relative load instruction with invalid offsets. The fix implemented by this patch is to replace a single large .space directive by a number of 4 byte .space's. This requires splitting the macros which generate test cases for branch instructions into two forms: one with, and one without support for inserting extra code between branch and target. 2011-11-26ARM: 7171/1: unwind: add unwind directives to bitops assembly macrosWill Deacon
The bitops functions (e.g. _test_and_set_bit) on ARM do not have unwind annotations and therefore the kernel cannot backtrace out of them on a fatal error (for example, NULL pointer dereference). This patch annotates the bitops assembly macros with UNWIND annotations so that we can produce a meaningful backtrace on error. Callers of the macros are modified to pass their function name as a macro parameter, enforcing that the macros are used as standalone function implementations. 2011-11-26l2tp: ensure sk->dst is still validFlorian Westphal
When using l2tp over ipsec, the tunnel will hang when rekeying occurs. Reason is that the transformer bundle attached to the dst entry is now in STATE_DEAD and thus xfrm_output_one() drops all packets (XfrmOutStateExpired increases). Fix this by calling __sk_dst_check (which drops the stale dst if xfrm dst->check callback finds that the bundle is no longer valid). 2011-11-26ipv4: Don't use the cached pmtu informations for input routesSteffen Klassert
The pmtu informations on the inetpeer are visible for output and input routes. On packet forwarding, we might propagate a learned pmtu to the sender. As we update the pmtu informations of the inetpeer on demand, the original sender of the forwarded packets might never notice when the pmtu to that inetpeer increases. As it is, we return null as the default mtu of blackhole routes. This may lead to a propagation of a bogus pmtu if the default_mtu method of a blackhole route is invoked. 2011-11-24ext4: fix racy use-after-free in ext4_end_io_dio()Tejun Heo
ext4_end_io_dio() queues io_end->work and then clears iocb->private; however, io_end->work calls aio_complete() which frees the iocb object. If that slab object gets reallocated, then ext4_end_io_dio() can end up clearing someone else's iocb->private, this use-after-free can cause a leak of a struct ext4_io_end_t structure. Detected and tested with slab poisoning. 2011-11-24cgroup_freezer: fix freezing groups with stopped tasksMichal Hocko
2d3cbf8b (cgroup_freezer: update_freezer_state() does incorrect state transitions) removed is_task_frozen_enough and replaced it with a simple frozen call. This, however, breaks freezing for a group with stopped tasks because those cannot be frozen and so the group remains in CGROUP_FREEZING state (update_if_frozen doesn't count stopped tasks) and never reaches CGROUP_FROZEN. Let's add is_task_frozen_enough back and use it at the original locations (update_if_frozen and try_to_freeze_cgroup). Semantically we consider stopped tasks as frozen enough so we should consider both cases when testing frozen tasks. The cmpxchg must be irq safe. The fallback for this_cpu_cmpxchg only disables preemption which results in per cpu partial page operation potentially failing on non x86 platforms. P1023 external IRQ[4:6, 11] are not pin out, but the interrupts are utilized by the PCIe controllers. As they are not exposed as pins we need to set them as active-high (internal to the SoC these interrupts are pulled down). IRQs[0:3,7:10] are pulled up on the board so we have them set as active-low. virtio pci device reset actually just does an I/O write, which in PCI is really posted, that is it can complete on CPU before the device has received it. Further, interrupts might have been pending on another CPU, so device callback might get invoked after reset. This conflicts with how drivers use reset, which is typically: reset unregister a callback running after reset completed can race with unregister, potentially leading to use after free bugs. Fix by flushing out the write, and flushing pending interrupts.
