2016-07-28ceph: allow dentry_lease_is_valid to work under RCU walkJeff Layton
Under rcuwalk, we need to take extra care when dereferencing d_parent. We want to do that once and pass a pointer to dentry_lease_is_valid. Also, we must ensure that that function can handle the case where we're racing with d_release. Check whether "di" is NULL under the d_lock, and just return 0 if so. Finally, we still need to kick off a renewal job if the lease is getting close to expiration. If that's the case, then just drop out of rcuwalk mode since that could block. 2016-07-28ceph: clear d_fsinfo pointer under d_lockJeff Layton
To check for a valid dentry lease, we need to get at the ceph_dentry_info. Under rcuwalk though, we may end up with a dentry that is on its way to destruction. Since we need to take the d_lock in dentry_lease_is_valid already, we can just ensure that we clear the d_fsinfo pointer out under the same lock before destroying it. Add pool namesapce pointer to struct ceph_file_layout and struct ceph_object_locator. Pool namespace is used by when mapping object to PG, it's also used when composing OSD request. The namespace pointer in struct ceph_file_layout is RCU protected. So libceph can read namespace without taking lock. 2016-07-27sparc: Don't leak context bits into thread->fault_addressDavid S. Miller
On pre-Niagara systems, we fetch the fault address on data TLB exceptions from the TLB_TAG_ACCESS register. But this register also contains the context ID assosciated with the fault in the low 13 bits of the register value. This propagates into current_thread_info()->fault_address and can cause trouble later on. So clear the low 13-bits out of the TLB_TAG_ACCESS value in the cases where it matters. 2016-07-27Disable "maybe-uninitialized" warning globallyLinus Torvalds
Several build configurations had already disabled this warning because it generates a lot of false positives. But some had not, and it was still enabled for "allmodconfig" builds, for example. Looking at the warnings produced, every single one I looked at was a false positive, and the warnings are frequent enough (and big enough) that they can easily hide real problems that you don't notice in the noise generated by -Wmaybe-uninitialized. The warning is good in theory, but this is a classic case of a warning that causes more problems than the warning can solve. If gcc gets better at avoiding false positives, we may be able to re-enable this warning. But as is, we're better off without it, and I want to be able to see the *real* warnings. 2016-07-27ipmi: remove trydefaults parameter and default initTony Camuso
Parameter trydefaults=1 causes the ipmi_init to initialize ipmi through the legacy port io space that was designated for ipmi. Architectures that do not map legacy port io can panic when trydefaults=1. Rather than implement build-time conditional exceptions for each architecture that does not map legacy port io, we have removed legacy port io from the driver. Parameter 'trydefaults' has been removed. Attempts to use it hereafter will evoke the "Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter" message. The patch was built against a number of architectures and tested for regressions and functionality on x86_64 and ARM64. As the SET_SYSTEM_SLEEP_PM_OPS and the SET_RUNTIME_PM_OPS macro deals with the CONFIG_PM options when assigning the callbacks, it becomes redundant to control this when declaring the struct dev_pm_ops.
