2013-08-27serial: icom: move array overflow checks earlierDan Carpenter
This code does an annoying thing where it writes to the array and then checks later for array overflows. I don't know if it's actually possible to overflow but let's check before using the array index. 2013-08-27msm_serial: Send more than 1 character on the console w/ UARTDMStephen Boyd
We recently added support to send more than one character at a time for UARTDM hardware but we didn't add the same support in the console code path. Add support here to speed up console messages on UARTDM hardware. 2013-08-27msm_serial: Add support for non-GSBI UARTDM devicesStephen Boyd
Not all UARTDM hardware is part of a GSBI complex. Add support for these devices and fix a bug where we assumed uartdm meant the hardware was part of a GSBI complex. 2013-08-27msm_serial: Switch clock consumer strings and simplify codeStephen Boyd
In downstream kernel we've standardized the clock consumer names that MSM device drivers use. Replace the uart specific clock names in this driver with the more standard 'core' and 'iface' names. Also simplify the code by assuming that clk_prepare_enable and clk_disable_unprepare() will properly check for NULL pointers (it will because MSM uses the common clock framework). The current driver triggers a lockdep warning for if tty_flip_buffer_push() is called with uart_port->lock locked. This never shows up on UP kernels and comes up only on SMP kernels. 2013-08-27tty: serial: lpc32xx_hs: don't call tty_flip_buffer_push() twiceViresh Kumar
serial_lpc32xx_interrupt() calls __serial_lpc32xx_rx() first and then tty_flip_buffer_push() immediately after that. But last statement of __serial_lpc32xx_rx() already called tty_flip_buffer_push().. So, probably its not required to be called twice. Lets remove one of them. Kevin writes: Hmm, another OMAP serial patch that wasn't Cc'd to linux-omap where OMAP users might have seen it. :( I just bisected a strange problem in linux-next on OMAP3 down to this patch. Reverting it fixes the problem. On OMAP3530 Beagle and Overo, after boot, doing a 'cat /proc/cpuinfo' was not returning to a prompt, suggesting something strange with the FIFO. Hitting return gets me back to a prompt. Greg, this one should also be dropped from tty-next until it can be further investgated and the problem solved. So I assumed that Beagle bone has only one USB port in host mode because the micro USB connector had an USB-UART there. I was wrong a little. The second port runs on host mode, but the micro USB plug is connected to an internal HUB with two ports: one to the USB-UART and one to musb instance one. For that reason, this patch enables both ports: the primary in device mode only and the second in host mode only. 2013-08-27usb: musb: am335x-evm: Do not remove the session bit HOST-only modeSebastian Andrzej Siewior
This is what I observe: On the first connect, the musb starts with DEVCTL.Session set. On disconnect, musb_core calls try_idle. That functions removes the Session bit signalizing that the session is over (something that only in OTG is required). A new device, that is plugged, is no longer recognized. I've setup a timer and checked the DEVCTL register and I haven't seen a change in VBus and I saw the B-Device bit set. After setting the IDDIG into A mode and forcing the device to behave like a A device, I didn't see a change. Neither VBUS goes to 0b11 nor does a session start request comes. In the TI-v3.2 kernel they skip to call musb_platform_try_idle() in the OTG_STATE_A_WAIT_BCON state while not in OTG mode. Since the second port hast a standard A plug the patch changes the port to run in host mode only and skips the timer which would remove DEVCTL.Session so we can reconnect to another device later. 2013-08-27usb: musb: dsps: do not set is_active on the first drvbus interruptSebastian Andrzej Siewior
Quite early on init there is an vbus / drvvbus interrupt comming and the dsps code sets is_active to one. As a result we see a lot of |musb_bus_suspend 2459: trying to suspend as a_wait_bcon while active until a device is plugged in with pm_runtime enabled in the kernel. After checking davinci, am35, da8xx I noticed that dsps is actually the only one doing this. So remove it and we won't flooded with mesages and the idle port can be suspended.
