2013-02-19xen-blkback: do not leak mode propertyJan Beulich
"be->mode" is obtained from xenbus_read(), which does a kmalloc() for the message body. The short string is never released, so do it along with freeing "be" itself, and make sure the string isn't kept when backend_changed() doesn't complete successfully (which made it desirable to slightly re-structure that function, so that the error cleanup can be done in one place). 2013-02-19Merge tag 'omap-for-v3.9/usb-signed' of ↵Arnd Bergmann
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into next/soc These changes contain the OMAP USB related platform data changes that were dropped from linux next because of the merge conflicts as requested by me and Olof. The reason was that at this point we really should be able to do the arch/arm related changes separately from driver changes to avoid dependencies between branches. These patches were initially part of the USB related MFD patches. Based on our comments, Roger Quadros quickly reworked these patches into a shared branch between ARM SoC tree and the MFD tree, then separate patches for the OMAP platform data and MFD driver. Note that this branch will conflict with c1d1cd597fc7 ("ARM: OMAP2+: omap_device: remove obsolete pm_lats and early_device code"). Please see http://lkml.org/lkml/2013/2/11/16 for the merge resolution. [arnd - resolved the merge conflict] Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
2013-02-19ppp: set qdisc_tx_busylock to avoid LOCKDEP splatEric Dumazet
If a qdisc is installed on a ppp device, its possible to get a lockdep splat under stress, because nested dev_queue_xmit() can lock busylock a second time (on a different device, so its a false positive) Avoid this problem using a distinct lock_class_key for ppp devices. 2013-02-19x86, kvm: Add MSR_AMD64_BU_CFG2 to the list of ignored MSRsBorislav Petkov
The "x86, AMD: Enable WC+ memory type on family 10 processors" patch currently in -tip added a workaround for AMD F10h CPUs which #GPs my guest when booted in kvm. This is because it accesses MSR_AMD64_BU_CFG2 which is not currently ignored by kvm. Do that because this MSR is only baremetal-relevant anyway. While at it, move the ignored MSRs at the beginning of kvm_set_msr_common so that we exit then and there. 2013-02-19x86, cpu, amd: Fix WC+ workaround for older virtual hostsBorislav Petkov
The WC+ workaround for F10h introduces a new MSR and kvm host #GPs on accesses to unknown MSRs if paravirt is not compiled in. Use the exception-handling MSR accessors so as not to break 3.8 and later guests booting on older hosts. Remove a redundant family check while at it. commit d4beaa66add8aebf83ab16d2fde4e4de8dac36df "net: proc: change proc_net_fops_create to proc_create" uses proc_create to replace proc_net_fops_create, when CONFIG_PROC isn't configured, some build error will occurs. net/packet/af_packet.c: In function 'packet_net_init': net/packet/af_packet.c:3831:48: error: 'packet_seq_fops' undeclared (first use in this function) net/packet/af_packet.c:3831:48: note: each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in There may be other build fails like above, this patch change proc_create from function to macros when CONFIG_PROC is not configured, just like what proc_net_fops_create did before this commit. 2013-02-19workqueue: un-GPL function delayed_work_timer_fn()Konstantin Khlebnikov
commit d8e794dfd51c368ed3f686b7f4172830b60ae47b ("workqueue: set delayed_work->timer function on initialization") exports function delayed_work_timer_fn() only for GPL modules. 2013-02-19Revert "xen: netback: remove redundant xenvif_put"David S. Miller
This reverts commit d37204566a61d5116d385ae909db8e14a734b30f. This change is incorrect, as per Jan Beulich: ==================== But this is wrong from all we can tell, we discussed this before (Wei pointed to the discussion in an earlier reply). The core of it is that the put here parallels the one in netbk_tx_err(), and the one in xenvif_carrier_off() matches the get from xenvif_connect() (which normally would be done on the path coming through xenvif_disconnect()). ==================== And a previous discussion of this issue is at: http://marc.info/?l=xen-devel&m=136084174026977&w=2 Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-02-19ALSA: hda - hdmi: Protect ELD bufferDavid Henningsson
Because the eld buffer can be simultaneously accessed from both workqueue context (updating) and process context (kcontrol read), we need to protect it with a mutex to guarantee consistency. To avoid holding the mutex while reading the ELD info from the codec, we introduce a temporary eld buffer. 2013-02-19NLM: Ensure that we resend all pending blocking locks after a reclaimTrond Myklebust
Currently, nlmclnt_lock will break out of the for(;;) loop when the reclaimer wakes up the blocking lock thread by setting nlm_lck_denied_grace_period. 2013-02-19IPoIB: Fix ipoib_neigh hashing to use the correct daddr octetsShlomo Pongratz
The hash function introduced in commit b63b70d877 ("IPoIB: Use a private hash table for path lookup in xmit path") was designd to use the 3 octets of the IPoIB HW address that holds the remote QPN. However, this currently isn't the case on little-endian machines, because the the code there uses the flags part (octet[0]) and not the last octet of the QPN (octet[3]). Fix this. The fix caused a checkpatch warning on line over 80 characters, to solve that changed the name of the temp variable that holds the daddr.
