2018-08-03scsi: vmw_pvscsi: Return DID_RESET for status SAM_STAT_COMMAND_TERMINATEDJim Gill
Commands that are reset are returned with status SAM_STAT_COMMAND_TERMINATED. PVSCSI currently returns DID_OK | SAM_STAT_COMMAND_TERMINATED which fails the command. Instead, set hostbyte to DID_RESET to allow upper layers to retry. Tested by copying a large file between two pvscsi disks on same adapter while performing a bus reset at 1-second intervals. Swap the I/O memory read value back to cpu endianness before storing it in a data structures which are defined in the MPI headers where u8 components are not defined in the endianness order. In this area from day one mpt3sas driver is using le32_to_cpu() & cpu_to_le32() APIs. But in commit cf6bf9710c (mpt3sas: Bug fix for big endian systems) we have removed these APIs before reading I/O memory which we should haven't done it. So in this patch I am correcting it by adding these APIs back before accessing I/O memory. There is a bug in regards to deferred probing within the drivers core that causes GPIO-driver to suspend after its users. The bug appears if GPIO-driver probe is getting deferred, which happens after introducing dependency on PINCTRL-driver for the GPIO-driver by defining "gpio-ranges" property in device-tree. The bug in the drivers core is old (more than 4 years now) and is well known, unfortunately there is no easy fix for it. The good news is that we can workaround the deferred probe issue by changing GPIO / PINCTRL drivers registration order and hence by moving PINCTRL driver registration to the arch_init level and GPIO to the subsys_init. 2018-08-03l2tp: ignore L2TP_ATTR_MTUGuillaume Nault
This attribute's handling is broken. It can only be used when creating Ethernet pseudo-wires, in which case its value can be used as the initial MTU for the l2tpeth device. However, when handling update requests, L2TP_ATTR_MTU only modifies session->mtu. This value is never propagated to the l2tpeth device. Dump requests also return the value of session->mtu, which is not synchronised anymore with the device MTU. The same problem occurs if the device MTU is properly updated using the generic IFLA_MTU attribute. In this case, session->mtu is not updated, and L2TP_ATTR_MTU will report an invalid value again when dumping the session. It does not seem worthwhile to complexify l2tp_eth.c to synchronise session->mtu with the device MTU. Even the ip-l2tp manpage advises to use 'ip link' to initialise the MTU of l2tpeth devices (iproute2 does not handle L2TP_ATTR_MTU at all anyway). So let's just ignore it entirely. 2018-08-03l2tp: simplify MTU handling in l2tp_pppGuillaume Nault
The value of the session's .mtu field, as defined by pppol2tp_connect() or pppol2tp_session_create(), is later overwritten by pppol2tp_session_init() (unless getting the tunnel's socket PMTU fails). This field is then only used when setting the PPP channel's MTU in pppol2tp_connect(). Furthermore, the SIOC[GS]IFMTU ioctls only act on the session's .mtu without propagating this value to the PPP channel, making them useless. This patch initialises the PPP channel's MTU directly and ignores the session's .mtu entirely. MTU is still computed by subtracting the PPPOL2TP_HEADER_OVERHEAD constant. It is not optimal, but that doesn't really matter: po->chan.mtu is only used when the channel is part of a multilink PPP bundle. Running multilink PPP over packet switched networks is certainly not going to be efficient, so not picking the best MTU does not harm (in the worst case, packets will just be fragmented by the underlay). The SIOC[GS]IFMTU ioctls are removed entirely (as opposed to simply ignored), because these ioctls commands are part of the requests that should be handled generically by the socket layer. The msix number for vf is different, depends on the max vf number. Futherly if the vf supports roce, the offset of msix is not fixed. It's incorrect to fix the msix number to 33. User was able to perform filter flush on chain 0 even if it didn't have any filters in it. With the patch that avoided implicit chain 0 creation, this changed. So in case user wants filter flush on chain which does not exist, just return success. There's no reason for non-0 chains to behave differently than chain 0, so do the same for them. 2018-08-03netfilter: use kvmalloc_array to allocate memory for hashtableLi RongQing
nf_ct_alloc_hashtable is used to allocate memory for conntrack, NAT bysrc and expectation hashtable. [Why] VGA sometimes has trouble retrieving the EDID on very long cables, KVM switches, or old displays. [How] Only require EDID read for HDMI and DVI and exempt other types (DP, VGA). We currently don't support VGA but if anyone adds support in the future this might get overlooked. 2018-08-03drm/amd/display: Report non-DP display as disconnected without EDIDHarry Wentland
[Why] Some boards seem to have a problem where HPD is high on HDMI even though no display is connected. We don't want to report these as connected. DP spec still requires us to report DP displays as connected when HPD is high but we can't read the EDID in order to go to fail-safe mode. 2018-08-03mailbox: mediatek: Add Mediatek CMDQ driverHoulong Wei
This patch is first version of Mediatek Command Queue(CMDQ) driver. The CMDQ is used to help write registers with critical time limitation, such as updating display configuration during the vblank. It controls Global Command Engine (GCE) hardware to achieve this requirement. Currently, CMDQ only supports display related hardwares, but we expect it can be extended to other hardwares for future requirements.
