2012-02-15Bluetooth: Fix l2cap conn failures for ssp devicesPeter Hurley
Commit 330605423c fixed l2cap conn establishment for non-ssp remote devices by not setting HCI_CONN_ENCRYPT_PEND every time conn security is tested (which was always returning failure on any subsequent security checks). However, this broke l2cap conn establishment for ssp remote devices when an ACL link was already established at SDP-level security. This fix ensures that encryption must be pending whenever authentication is also pending. 2012-02-15ARM: 7324/1: modpost: Fix section warnings for ARM for many compilersTony Lindgren
It turns out that many compilers don't show section warnings on ARM currently because handling for ARM_CALL relocs are missing from modpost.c. Based on commit c2e26114 ([ARM] 3205/1: Handle new EABI relocations when loading kernel modules) it seems that R_ARM_PC24, R_ARM_CALL and R_ARM_JUMP24 can be handled the same way. Note that at least Debian libc6-dev is missing defines for both R_ARM_CALL and R_ARM_JUMP24 in /usr/include/elf.h. So for now we need to define them in modpost.c if not defined. 2012-02-15genirq: Handle pending irqs in irq_startup()Thomas Gleixner
An interrupt might be pending when irq_startup() is called, but the startup code does not invoke the resend logic. In some cases this prevents the device from issuing another interrupt which renders the device non functional. Call the resend function in irq_startup() to keep things going. 2012-02-15genirq: Unmask oneshot irqs when thread was not wokenThomas Gleixner
When the primary handler of an interrupt which is marked IRQ_ONESHOT returns IRQ_HANDLED or IRQ_NONE, then the interrupt thread is not woken and the unmask logic of the interrupt line is never invoked. This keeps the interrupt masked forever. This was not noticed as most IRQ_ONESHOT users wake the thread unconditionally (usually because they cannot access the underlying device from hard interrupt context). Though this behaviour was nowhere documented and not necessarily intentional. Some drivers can avoid the thread wakeup in certain cases and run into the situation where the interrupt line s kept masked. Handle it gracefully. 2012-02-15block: exit_io_context() should call elevator_exit_icq_fn()Tejun Heo
While updating locking, b2efa05265 "block, cfq: unlink cfq_io_context's immediately" moved elevator_exit_icq_fn() invocation from exit_io_context() to the final ioc put. While this doesn't cause catastrophic failure, it effectively removes task exit notification to elevator and cause noticeable IO performance degradation with CFQ. On task exit, CFQ used to immediately expire the slice if it was being used by the exiting task as no more IO would be issued by the task; however, after b2efa05265, the notification is lost and disk could sit idle needlessly, leading to noticeable IO performance degradation for certain workloads. This patch renames ioc_exit_icq() to ioc_destroy_icq(), separates elevator_exit_icq_fn() invocation into ioc_exit_icq() and invokes it from exit_io_context(). ICQ_EXITED flag is added to avoid invoking the callback more than once for the same icq. Walking icq_list from ioc side and invoking elevator callback requires reverse double locking. This may be better implemented using RCU; unfortunately, using RCU isn't trivial. e.g. RCU protection would need to cover request_queue and queue_lock switch on cleanup makes grabbing queue_lock from RCU unsafe. Reverse double locking should do, at least for now. 2012-02-15block: simplify ioc_release_fn()Tejun Heo
Reverse double lock dancing in ioc_release_fn() can be simplified by just using trylock on the queue_lock and back out from ioc lock on trylock failure. Simplify it. Signed-off-by: Tejun Heo <tj@kernel.org> Tested-by: Shaohua Li <shaohua.li@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <axboe@kernel.dk>
2012-02-15block: replace icq->changed with icq->flagsTejun Heo
icq->changed was used for ICQ_*_CHANGED bits. Rename it to flags and access it under ioc->lock instead of using atomic bitops. ioc_get_changed() is added so that the changed part can be fetched and cleared as before. icq->flags will be used to carry other flags. 2012-02-14Kbuild: Use dtc's -d (dependency) optionStephen Warren
This hooks dtc into Kbuild's dependency system. Thus, for example, "make dtbs" will rebuild tegra-harmony.dtb if only tegra20.dtsi has changed yet tegra-harmony.dts has not. The previous lack of this feature recently caused me to have very confusing "git bisect" results. For ARM, it's obvious what to add to $(targets). I'm not familiar enough with other architectures to know what to add there. Powerpc appears to already add various .dtb files into $(targets), but the other archs may need something added to $(targets) to work. 2012-02-14tcp: fix tcp_shifted_skb() adjustment of lost_cnt_hint for FACKNeal Cardwell
This commit ensures that lost_cnt_hint is correctly updated in tcp_shifted_skb() for FACK TCP senders. The lost_cnt_hint adjustment in tcp_sacktag_one() only applies to non-FACK senders, so FACK senders need their own adjustment. This applies the spirit of 1e5289e121372a3494402b1b131b41bfe1cf9b7f - except now that the sequence range passed into tcp_sacktag_one() is correct we need only have a special case adjustment for FACK.
