For concerned phy, the fiber link is checked before the copper link.
According to datasheet, the link which is up is enabled.
If both links are down, copper link would be used.
To detect fiber link status, we used the real time status
because of troubles with the copper method.
Tested with Marvell 88E1512.

"DMA chan: ff" while the driver doesn't use any DMA channels. Not assigning
a value to 'net_device::dma' causes 'ifconfig' to correctly not report a
DMA channel.

Unfortunately warnings generated after parsing in sphinx can end up
with entirely bogus files and line numbers as sources. Strangely for
outright errors this is not a problem. Trying to convert warnings to
errors also doesn't fix it.
The only way to get useful output out of sphinx to be able to root
cause the error seems to be enabling keep_warnings, which inserts
a System Message into the actual output. Not pretty at all, but I
don't really want to fix up core rst/sphinx code, and this gets the job
done meanwhile.

RAID10 random read performance is lower than expected due to excessive spinlock
utilisation which is required mostly for rebuild/resync. Simplify allow_barrier
as it's in IO path and encounters a lot of unnecessary congestion.
As lower_barrier just takes a lock in order to decrement a counter, convert
counter (nr_pending) into atomic variable and remove the spin lock. There is
also a congestion for wake_up (it uses lock internally) so call it only when
it's really needed. As wake_up is not called constantly anymore, ensure process
waiting to raise a barrier is notified when there are no more waiting IOs.

This patch allows to simulate the lost of frames exchanged between the 2
nfcsim devices through a control entry in the debugfs and is used as
follow:
echo n > /sys/kernel/debug/nfcsim/nfcX/dropframe
Where n specifies the number of frames to be dropped between 0 and 255
and nfcX is either nfc0 or nfc1, one of the two nfcsim devices.
In the following example, the next frame that should be sent by the nfc0
device will be dropped and thus not received by the nfc1 device:
echo 1 > /sys/kernel/debug/nfcsim/nfc0/dropframe
The value of 0 can be used to reset the dropframe counter.

The idea is to have a way to control and/or modify the behavior of the
nfcsim virtual devices.
This patch creates a folder tree in the debug filesystem. The debugfs is
usually mounted into /sys/kernel/debug and the nfcsim entries are
located in DEBUGFS/nfcsim/nfcX/ where X is either 0 or 1 depending on
the device you want to address.
These folders are empty for now and control entries will be added by
upcoming commits.

Commit 4995734e973a "acpi, nfit: fix acpi_check_dsm() vs zero functions
implemented" attempted to fix a QEMU regression by supporting its usage
of a zero-mask as a valid response to a DSM-family probe request.
However, this behavior breaks HP platforms that return a zero-mask by
default causing the probe to misidentify the DSM-family.
Instead, the QEMU regression can be fixed by simply not requiring the DSM
family to be identified.
This effectively reverts commit 4995734e973a, and removes the DSM
requirement from the init path.

In 'cpmac_open', 'dma_alloc_coherent' has been used to allocate some
resources, so we need to free them using 'dma_free_coherent' instead
of 'kfree'.
Also, we don't need to free these resources if the allocation has failed.
So I have slighly modified the goto label in this case.

For rtl8188ee, we pass -Idrivers/net/wireless/rtlwifi/ to gcc,
however that directy no longer exists, so evidently this option
is no longer required here and can be removed to avoid a warning
when building with 'make W=1' or 'gcc -Wmissing-include-dirs'

md loads raidX modules and increments module refcount each time level
has changed but does not decrement it. You are unable to unload raid0
module after reshape because raid0 reshape changes level to raid4
and back to raid0.

We dropped strict MIPS dependency for bcm47xxsflash driver in:
commit 5651d6aaf489 ("mtd: bcm47xxsflash: use ioremap_cache() instead of
KSEG0ADDR()") but using ioremap_cache still limits building it to few
selected architectures only.
A recent commit 57d8f7dd2132 ("bcma: allow enabling serial flash support
on non-MIPS SoCs") automatically dropped MIPS dependency for
MTD_BCM47XXSFLASH which broke building e.g. on powerpc and cris.
The bcma change is alright as it doesn't break building bcma code in any
way. MTD_BCM47XXSFLASH on the other hand should be limited to archs
which need it and can build it (by providing ioremap_cache).

Add support for using with both wl12xx and wl18xx.
- all wilink family needs special init command for entering wspi mode.
extra clock cycles should be sent after the spi init command while the
cs pin is high.
- Use inverted chip select for sending a dummy 4 bytes command that
completes the init stage.

wlc_phy_txpower_get_current() does a logical OR of power->flags, which
presumes that power.flags was initiliazed earlier by the caller,
unfortunately, this is not the case, so make sure we zero out the struct
tx_power before calling into wlc_phy_txpower_get_current().

The md code stores the exact time of the last error in the
last_read_error variable using a timespec structure. It only
ever uses the seconds portion of that though, so we can
use a scalar for it.
There won't be an overflow in 2038 here, because it already
used monotonic time and 32-bit is enough for that, but I've
decided to use time64_t for consistency in the conversion.

AR_PHY_65NM_CH0_THERM and AR_CH0_THERM were supposed to refer to the
same register, however they had different SREV checks.
Remove the duplicate and use the checks. Since there were other SREV
checks present in the only place that uses this, this will probaby not
affect runtime behavior.

There were two paths in the code for "external" eeprom sources. The code
in eeprom.c only handled the cases where the eeprom data was loaded via
request_firmware. ahb.c and pci.c on the other hand had some duplicate
code which was only used when the eeprom data was passed via
ath9k_platform_data.
With this change all eeprom data handling is now unified in eeprom.c.

When an NL80211_DISCONNECT is sent to cfg80211, the driver's cfg80211
disconnect function sets the sme_state to SME_DISCONNECTED before receiving
a WMI_DISCONNECT_EVENT from the firmware. This caused cfg80211 to not know
that the connection is disconnected because the driver fails to notify
cfg80211 upon receiving WMI_DISCONNECT_EVENT from the firmware believing
it is already disconnected.

We only get nf_connlabels if the user add ct label set expr successfully,
but we will also put nf_connlabels if the user delete ct lable get expr.
This is mismathced, and will cause ct label expr cannot work properly.
Also, if we init something fail, we should put nf_connlabels back.
Otherwise, we may waste to alloc the memory that will never be used.

adfeb3e0 ("cifs: Make echo interval tunable") added a comparison of
vol->echo_interval to server->echo_interval as a criterium to
match_server(), but:
(1) A default value is set for server->echo_interval but not for
vol->echo_interval, meaning these can never match if the echo_interval
option is not specified.
(2) vol->echo_interval is in seconds but server->echo_interval is in
jiffies, meaning these can never match even if the echo_interval option
is specified.
This broke TCP session reuse since match_server() can never return 1.
Fix it.

Since 2006 we have ->i_bdev pinning bdev in question, so there's no
way to get to bdev ->evict_inode() while there's an aliasing inode
anywhere. In other words, the only place walking the list of aliases
is guaranteed to do it only when the list is empty...
Remove the detritus; it should've been done in "[PATCH] Fix a race
condition between ->i_mapping and iput()", but nobody had noticed it
back then.

Release call is ignoring the return code from reset call and can
potentially continue even though reset call failed.
If reset_required module parameter is set, this patch is going
to validate the return code and will cause stack dump with
WARN_ON and warn the user of failure.

Even when the adapter is configured for CEC 1.4, we still check and
use the CEC 2.0 parts of struct cec_log_addrs. Although these aren't
used in CEC messages, the information contained in them is still of
use in the CEC framework itself, so keep this information.
Also zero the unused trailing features[] data and unused logical address
data so the contents isn't random data.

The code was allowing platform devices to be used without a supporting
VFIO reset driver. The hardware can be left in some inconsistent state
after a guest machine abort.
The reset driver will put the hardware back to safe state and disable
interrupts before returning the control back to the host machine.
Adding a new reset_required kernel module option to platform VFIO drivers.
The default value is true for the DT and ACPI based drivers.
The reset requirement value for AMBA drivers is set to false and is
unchangeable to maintain the existing functionality.
New requirements are:
1. A reset function needs to be implemented by the corresponding driver
via DT/ACPI.
2. The reset function needs to be discovered via DT/ACPI.
The probe of the driver will fail if any of the above conditions are
not satisfied.
