The vlan mask field should be validated and assigned according to the field
size which is 12 bits. Also replace the numeric 0xfff mask with existing kernel
macro.

Destination mac is a mandatory specification for ip/udp steering rules.
When attaching multicast steering rules via ethtool the unicast mac of the
interface was added to the rule specification instead of the multicast mac.
The following commit sets the corresponding multicast mac for the rule multicast ip.

If occurs a LE or SCO hci_conn timeout and the connection is already
established (BT_CONNECTED state), the connection is not terminated as
expected. This bug can be reproduced using l2test or scotest tool.
Once the connection is established, kill l2test/scotest and the
connection won't be terminated.
This patch fixes hci_conn_disconnect helper so it is able to
terminate LE and SCO connections, as well as ACL.

The conn->smp_chan pointer can be NULL if SMP PDUs arrive at unexpected
moments. To avoid NULL pointer dereferences the code should be checking
for this and disconnect if an unexpected SMP PDU arrives. This patch
fixes the issue by adding a check for conn->smp_chan for all other PDUs
except pairing request and security request (which are are the first
PDUs to come to initialize the SMP context).

i2c_hid_output_raw_report is used by hidraw to forward set_report requests.
The current implementation of i2c_hid_set_report needs to take the
report_id as an argument. The report_id is stored in the first byte
of the buffer in argument of i2c_hid_output_raw_report.
Not removing the report_id from the given buffer adds this byte 2 times
in the command, leading to a non working command.

Use the same adaptive readdirplus mechanism as NFS:

If the user space implementation wants to disable readdirplus
temporarily, it could just return ENOTSUPP. Then kernel will
recall it with readdir.

Commit c69e8d9c0 added rcu lock to fuse/dir.c It was assuming
that 'task' is some other process but in fact this parameter always
equals to 'current'. Inline this parameter to make it more readable
and remove RCU lock as it is not needed when access current process
credentials.

This patchset addes two new sets of files to sysfs for POWER architecture.
- perf event config format in /sys/devices/cpu/format/event
- generic and POWER-specific perf events in /sys/devices/cpu/events/
The format of the first file is already documented in:
sysfs-bus-event_source-devices-format
Document the format of the second set of files '/sys/devices/cpu/events/*'
which would also become part of the ABI.

Rename EVENT_ATTR() to PMU_EVENT_ATTR() and make it global so it is
available to all architectures.
Further to allow architectures flexibility, have PMU_EVENT_ATTR() pass
in the variable name as a parameter.

Add report.group config option for setting default value of event
group view. It affects the report output only if perf.data contains
event group info.
A user can write .perfconfig file like below to enable group view by
default:
$ cat ~/.perfconfig
[report]
group = true
And it can be disabled through command line:
$ perf report --no-group

Add --group option to enable event grouping. When enabled, all the
group members information will be shown together with the leader.

When using event group viewer, it's better to show the group description
rather than the leader information alone.
If a leader did not contain any member, it's a non-group event.

When event group feature is enabled, each column header is expanded to
match with the whole group column width. But this is not needed for
GTK+ browser since ti usually use variable-width fonts. So trim it.

Move coloring logic into the hpp functions so that each value can
be colored independently. It'd required for event group view.
For overhead column, add a callback for printing 'folded_sign' of
callchains of a hist entry.

The hpp helpers do same job for each field so it was implemented as
macro in order to access those fields easily. But it gets cumbersome to
maintain a large function in a macro as the function grows. Factor it
out to a function with a little helper macro to access field.

When event group is enabled, sorting hist entries on periods for output
should consider groups members' period also. To do that, build period
table using link/pair information and compare the table.

Now the event grouping viewing requires linking all member hists in a
group to the leader's. Thus hists__output_resort should be called after
linking all events in evlist.
Introduce symbol_conf.event_group flag to determine whether the feature
is enabled or not.

As some new fields for handling groups added, check them to be sure to

Add a few of group-related field in struct perf_{evlist,evsel} so that
the group information in a evlist can be known easily. It only counts
groups which have more than 1 members since leader-only groups are
treated as non-group events.

Patch vastly improve latency while scanning. Slight throughput
improvements were observed as well. Is intended for improve performance
of voice and video applications, when scan is periodically requested by
user space (i.e. default NetworkManager behaviour).
Patch remove latency requirement based on PM_QOS_NETWORK_LATENCY,
this value is 2000 seconds by default (i.e. approximately 0.5 hour !?!).
Also remove listen interval requirement, which based on beaconing and
depending on BSS parameters. It can make we stay off-channel for a
second or more.
Instead try to offer the best latency that we could, i.e. be off-channel
no longer than PASSIVE channel scan time: 125 ms. That mean we will
scan two ACTIVE channels and go back to on-channel, and one PASSIVE
channel, and go back to on-channel.
Patch also decrease PASSIVE channel scan time to about 110 ms.
As drawback patch increase overall scan time. On my tests, when scanning
both 2GHz and 5GHz bands, scanning time increase from 5 seconds up to 10
seconds. Since that increase happen only when we are associated, I think
it can be acceptable. If eventually better scan time is needed for
situations when we lose signal and quickly need to decide to which AP
roam, additional scan flag or parameter can be introduced.
I tested patch by doing:

Function tracing is currently broken for all 32 bit MIPS platforms.
When tracing is enabled, the kernel immediately hangs on boot.
This is a result of commit b732d439cb43336cd6d7e804ecb2c81193ef63b0
that changes the kernel/trace/Kconfig file so that is no longer
forces FRAME_POINTER when FUNCTION_TRACING is enabled.
MIPS frame pointers are generally considered to be useless because
they cannot be used to unwind the stack. Unfortunately the MIPS
function tracing code has bugs that are masked by the use of frame
pointers. This commit fixes the bugs so that MIPS frame pointers
don't need to be enabled.
The bugs are a result of the odd calling sequence used to call the trace
routine. This calling sequence is inserted into every traceable function
when the tracing CONFIG option is enabled. This sequence is generated
for 32bit MIPS platforms by the compiler via the "-pg" flag.
Part of the sequence is "addiu sp,sp,-8" in the delay slot after every
call to the trace routine "_mcount" (some legacy thing where 2 arguments
used to be pushed on the stack). The _mcount routine is expected to
adjust the sp by +8 before returning. So when not disabled, the original
jalr and addiu will be there, so _mcount has to adjust sp.
The problem is that when tracing is disabled for a function, the
"jalr _mcount" instruction is replaced with a nop, but the
"addiu sp,sp,-8" is still executed and the stack pointer is left
trashed. When frame pointers are enabled the problem is masked
because any access to the stack is done through the frame
pointer and the stack pointer is restored from the frame pointer when
the function returns.
This patch writes two nops starting at the address of the "jalr _mcount"
instruction whenever tracing is disabled. This means that the
"addiu sp,sp.-8" will be converted to a nop along with the "jalr". When
disabled, there will be two nops.
This is SMP safe because the first time this happens is during
ftrace_init() which is before any other processor has been started.
Subsequent calls to enable/disable tracing when other CPUs ARE running
will still be safe because the enable will only change the first nop
to a "jalr" and the disable, while writing 2 nops, will only be changing
the "jalr". This patch also stops using stop_machine() to call the
tracer enable/disable routines and calls them directly because the
routines are SMP safe.
When the kernel first boots we have to be able to handle the gcc
generated jalr, addui sequence until ftrace_init gets a chance to run
and change the sequence. At this point mcount just adjusts the stack
and returns. When ftrace_init runs, we convert the jalr/addui to nops.
Then whenever tracing is enabled we convert the first nop to a "jalr
mcount+8". The mcount+8 entry point skips the stack adjust.

When processing write same requests, fix dm to send the configured
number of WRITE SAME requests to the target rather than the number of
discards, which is not always the same.
Device-mapper WRITE SAME support was introduced by commit

Commit d3ce88431892 "MIPS: Fix modpost error in modules attepting to use
virt_addr_valid()" moved __virt_addr_valid() from a macro in a header
file to a function in ioremap.c. But ioremap.c is only compiled for MIPS
32, and not for MIPS 64.
When compiling for my yeeloong2, which supposedly supports hibernation,
which compiles kernel/power/snapshot.c which calls virt_addr_valid(), I
got this error:

thin_io_hints() is blindly copying the queue limits from the thin-pool
which can lead to incorrect limits being set. The fix here simply
deletes the thin_io_hints() hook which leaves the existing stacking
infrastructure to set the limits correctly.
When a thin-pool uses an MD device for the data device a thin device
from the thin-pool must respect MD's constraints about disallowing a bio
from spanning multiple chunks. Otherwise we can see problems. If the raid0
chunksize is 1152K and thin-pool chunksize is 256K I see the following
md/raid0 error (with extra debug tracing added to thin_endio) when
mkfs.xfs is executed against the thin device:

This extra DM debugging shows that the failing bio is spanning across
the first and second logical 1152K chunk (sector 2080 + 255 takes the
bio beyond the first chunk's boundary of sector 2304). So the bio
splitting that DM is doing clearly isn't respecting the MD limits.
max_hw_sectors_kb is 127 for both the thin-pool and thin device
(queue_max_hw_sectors returns 255 so we'll excuse sysfs's lack of
precision). So this explains why bi_size is 130560.
But the thin device's max_hw_sectors_kb should be 4 (PAGE_SIZE) given
that it doesn't have a .merge function (for bio_add_page to consult
indirectly via dm_merge_bvec) yet the thin-pool does sit above an MD
device that has a compulsory merge_bvec_fn. This scenario is exactly
why DM must resort to sending single PAGE_SIZE bios to the underlying
layer. Some additional context for this is available in the header for
commit 8cbeb67a ("dm: avoid unsupported spanning of md stripe boundaries").
Long story short, the reason a thin device doesn't properly get
configured to have a max_hw_sectors_kb of 4 (PAGE_SIZE) is that
thin_io_hints() is blindly copying the queue limits from the thin-pool
device directly to the thin device's queue limits.
Fix this by eliminating thin_io_hints. Doing so is safe because the
block layer's queue limits stacking already enables the upper level thin
device to inherit the thin-pool device's discard and minimum_io_size and
optimal_io_size limits that get set in pool_io_hints. But avoiding the
queue limits copy allows the thin and thin-pool limits to be different
where it is important, namely max_hw_sectors_kb.

When sending authentication/association frames they
might take a bit of time to go out because we may
have to synchronise with the AP, in particular in
the case where it's really a P2P GO. In this case
the 200ms fixed timeout could potentially be too
short if the beacon interval is relatively large.
For drivers that report TX status we can do better.
Instead of starting the timeout directly, start it
only when the frame status arrives. Since then the
frame was out on the air, we can wait shorter (the
typical response time is supposed to be 30ms, wait
100ms.) Also, if the frame failed to be transmitted
try again right away instead of waiting.

Currently, when the driver requires the DTIM period,
mac80211 will wait to hear a beacon before association.
This behavior is suboptimal since some drivers may be
able to deal with knowing the DTIM period after the
association, if they get it at all.
To address this, notify the drivers with bss_info_changed
with the new BSS_CHANGED_DTIM_PERIOD flag when the DTIM
becomes known. This might be when changing to associated,
or later when the entire association was done with only
probe response information.
Rename the hardware flag for the current behaviour to
IEEE80211_HW_NEED_DTIM_BEFORE_ASSOC to more accurately
reflect its behaviour. IEEE80211_HW_NEED_DTIM_PERIOD is
no longer accurate as all drivers get the DTIM period
now, just not before association.

Since ed4f209 "s390/time: fix sched_clock() overflow" a new helper function
is used to avoid overflows when converting TOD format values to nanosecond
values.
The kvm interrupt code formerly however only worked by accident because of
an overflow. It tried to program a timer that would expire in more than ~29
years. Because of the old TOD-to-nanoseconds overflow bug the real expiry
value however was much smaller, but now it isn't anymore.
This however triggers yet another bug in the function that programs the clock
comparator s390_next_ktime(): if the absolute "expires" value is after 2042
this will result in an overflow and the programmed value is lower than the
current TOD value which immediatly triggers a clock comparator (= timer)
interrupt.
Since the timer isn't expired it will be programmed immediately again and so
on... the result is a dead system.
To fix this simply program the maximum possible value if an overflow is
detected.
