2024-03-07io_uring/net: correctly handle multishot recvmsg retry setupJens Axboe
If we loop for multishot receive on the initial attempt, and then abort later on to wait for more, we miss a case where we should be copying the io_async_msghdr from the stack to stable storage. This leads to the next retry potentially failing, if the application had the msghdr on the stack. 2024-03-07PCI/AER: Block runtime suspend when handling errorsStanislaw Gruszka
PM runtime can be done simultaneously with AER error handling. Avoid that by using pm_runtime_get_sync() before and pm_runtime_put() after reset in pcie_do_recovery() for all recovering devices. pm_runtime_get_sync() will increase dev->power.usage_count counter to prevent any possible future request to runtime suspend a device. It will also resume a device, if it was previously in D3hot state. I tested with igc device by doing simultaneous aer_inject and rpm suspend/resume via /sys/bus/pci/devices/PCI_ID/power/control and can reproduce: igc 0000:02:00.0: not ready 65535ms after bus reset; giving up pcieport 0000:00:1c.2: AER: Root Port link has been reset (-25) pcieport 0000:00:1c.2: AER: subordinate device reset failed pcieport 0000:00:1c.2: AER: device recovery failed igc 0000:02:00.0: Unable to change power state from D3hot to D0, device inaccessible The problem disappears when this patch is applied. 2024-03-07Input: synaptics-rmi4 - fix UAF of IRQ domain on driver removalMathias Krause
Calling irq_domain_remove() will lead to freeing the IRQ domain prematurely. The domain is still referenced and will be attempted to get used via rmi_free_function_list() -> rmi_unregister_function() -> irq_dispose_mapping() -> irq_get_irq_data()'s ->domain pointer. With PaX's MEMORY_SANITIZE this will lead to an access fault when attempting to dereference embedded pointers, as in Torsten's report that was faulting on the 'domain->ops->unmap' test. Fix this by releasing the IRQ domain only after all related IRQs have been deactivated. Introduce __ulong() macro that allows specifying values bigger than 32-bit. In map definition "map_extra" is the only u64 field, so far. Recognize 'void *p__map' kfunc argument as 'struct bpf_map *p__map'. It allows kfunc to have 'void *' argument for maps, since bpf progs will call them as: struct { __uint(type, BPF_MAP_TYPE_ARENA); ... } arena SEC(".maps"); bpf_kfunc_with_map(... &arena ...); Underneath libbpf will load CONST_PTR_TO_MAP into the register via ld_imm64 insn. If kfunc was defined with 'struct bpf_map *' it would pass the verifier as well, but bpf prog would need to type cast the argument (void *)&arena, which is not clean. Drivers can return -ENODEV or -ENXIO from their probe to reject a device match, and return -EPROBE_DEFER if probe should be retried. Any other error code is not expected during normal behavior and indicates an issue occurred, so it should be logged at the error level. 2024-03-07driver core: Add FWLINK_FLAG_IGNORE to completely ignore a fwnode linkSaravana Kannan
A fwnode link between specific supplier-consumer fwnodes can be added multiple times for multiple reasons. If that dependency doesn't exist, deleting the fwnode link once doesn't guarantee that it won't get created again. So, add FWLINK_FLAG_IGNORE flag to mark a fwnode link as one that needs to be completely ignored. Since a fwnode link's flags is an OR of all the flags passed to all the fwnode_link_add() calls to create that specific fwnode link, the FWLINK_FLAG_IGNORE flag is preserved and can be used to mark a fwnode link as on that need to be completely ignored until it is deleted. 2024-03-07debugfs: fix wait/cancellation handling during removeJohannes Berg
Ben Greear further reports deadlocks during concurrent debugfs remove while files are being accessed, even though the code in question now uses debugfs cancellations. Turns out that despite all the review on the locking, we missed completely that the logic is wrong: if the refcount hits zero we can finish (and need not wait for the completion), but if it doesn't we have to trigger all the cancellations. As written, we can _never_ get into the loop triggering the cancellations. Fix this, and explain it better while at it. 2024-03-07driver core: Move fw_devlink stuff to where it belongsAndy Shevchenko

The cnic l2_ring and l2_buf mmaps have caused page refcount issues as the dma_alloc_coherent no longer provide __GFP_COMP allocation as per commit "dma-mapping: reject __GFP_COMP in dma_alloc_attrs". Fix this by having the uio device use dma_mmap_coherent. The bnx2 and bnx2x status block allocations are also dma_alloc_coherent, and should use dma_mmap_coherent. They don't allocate multiple pages, but this interface does not work correctly with an iommu enabled unless dma_mmap_coherent is used. 2024-03-07uio: introduce UIO_MEM_DMA_COHERENT typeChris Leech

2024-03-07cdx: add MSI support for CDX busNipun Gupta
Add CDX-MSI domain per CDX controller with gic-its domain as a parent, to support MSI for CDX devices. CDX devices allocate MSIs from the CDX domain. Also, introduce APIs to alloc and free IRQs for CDX domain. In CDX subsystem firmware is a controller for all devices and their configuration. CDX bus controller sends all the write_msi_msg commands to firmware running on RPU and the firmware interfaces with actual devices to pass this information to devices Since, CDX controller is the only way to communicate with the Firmware for MSI write info, CDX domain per controller required in contrast to having a CDX domain per device. /dev/synth has always been 8bit, but applications nowadays mostly expect to be using utf-8 encoding. This adds /dev/synthu to be able to synthesize non-latin1 characters. This however remains limited to 16bit unicode like the rest of speakup. Any odd input or input beyond 16bit is just discarded. 2024-03-07speakup: Fix 8bit characters from direct synthSamuel Thibault
When userland echoes 8bit characters to /dev/synth with e.g. echo -e '\xe9' > /dev/synth synth_write would get characters beyond 0x7f, and thus negative when char is signed. When given to synth_buffer_add which takes a u16, this would sign-extend and produce a U+ffxy character rather than U+xy. Users thus get garbled text instead of accents in their output. Let's fix this by making sure that we read unsigned characters. Currently, there are two entries for CONFIG_GOLDFISH. In arch/x86/Kconfig: config GOLDFISH def_bool y depends on X86_GOLDFISH In drivers/platform/goldfish/Kconfig: menuconfig GOLDFISH bool "Platform support for Goldfish virtual devices" depends on HAS_IOMEM && HAS_DMA While Kconfig allows multiple entries, it generally leads to tricky code. Prior to commit bd2f348db503 ("goldfish: refactor goldfish platform configs"), CONFIG_GOLDFISH was an alias of CONFIG_X86_GOLDFISH. After the mentioned commit added the second entry with a user prompt, the former provides the 'default' property that is effective only when X86_GOLDFISH=y. Merge them tegether to clarify how it has worked in the past 8 years.
