2023-08-23net: ethernet: mtk_eth_soc: support 36-bit DMA addressing on MT7988Daniel Golle
Systems having 4 GiB of RAM and more require DMA addressing beyond the current 32-bit limit. Starting from MT7988 the hardware now supports 36-bit DMA addressing, let's use that new capability in the driver to avoid running into swiotlb on systems with 4 GiB of RAM or more. 2023-08-23net: ethernet: mtk_eth_soc: add support for in-SoC SRAMDaniel Golle
MT7981, MT7986 and MT7988 come with in-SoC SRAM dedicated for Ethernet DMA rings. Support using the SRAM without breaking existing device tree bindings, ie. only new SoC starting from MT7988 will have the SRAM declared as additional resource in device tree. For MT7981 and MT7986 an offset on top of the main I/O base is used. 2023-08-23of: unittest-data: Convert remaining overlay DTS files to sugar syntaxGeert Uytterhoeven

2023-08-23of: unittest: Cleanup partially-applied overlaysGeert Uytterhoeven
When of_overlay_fdt_apply() fails, the changeset may be partially applied, and the caller is still expected to call of_overlay_remove() to clean up this partial state. However, overlay_17 is the only test that takes care of cleaning up after an (expected) failure. Instead of adding cleanup code to each individual test, extend overlay_info with the optional expected return value of of_overlay_remove(), and handle cleanup in the overlay_data_apply() helper. While at it, simplify the end marker in the overlay_info table. Update the expected error output for errors during the newly cleanup. 2023-08-23of: unittest: Fix overlay type in apply/revert checkGeert Uytterhoeven
The removal check in of_unittest_apply_revert_overlay_check() always uses the platform device overlay type, while it should use the actual overlay type, as passed as a parameter to the function. This has no impact on any current test, as all tests calling of_unittest_apply_revert_overlay_check() use the platform device overlay type. 2023-08-23of: overlay: Call of_changeset_init() earlyGeert Uytterhoeven
When of_overlay_fdt_apply() fails, the changeset may be partially applied, and the caller is still expected to call of_overlay_remove() to clean up this partial state. However, of_overlay_apply() calls of_resolve_phandles() before init_overlay_changeset(). Hence if the overlay fails to apply due to an unresolved symbol, the overlay_changeset.cset.entries list is still uninitialized, and cleanup will crash with a NULL-pointer dereference in overlay_removal_is_ok(). Fix this by moving the call to of_changeset_init() from init_overlay_changeset() to of_overlay_fdt_apply(), where all other early initialization is done. 2023-08-24drm/nouveau: uapi: don't pass NO_PREFETCH flag implicitlyDanilo Krummrich
Currently, NO_PREFETCH is passed implicitly through drm_nouveau_gem_pushbuf_push::length and drm_nouveau_exec_push::va_len. Since this is a direct representation of how the HW is programmed it isn't really future proof for a uAPI. Hence, fix this up for the new uAPI and split up the va_len field of struct drm_nouveau_exec_push, such that we keep 32bit for va_len and 32bit for flags. For drm_nouveau_gem_pushbuf_push::length at least provide NOUVEAU_GEM_PUSHBUF_NO_PREFETCH to indicate the bit shift. While at it, fix up nv50_dma_push() as well, such that the caller doesn't need to encode the NO_PREFETCH flag into the length parameter. 2023-08-24drm/nouveau: sched: avoid job races between entitiesDanilo Krummrich
If a sched job depends on a dma-fence from a job from the same GPU scheduler instance, but a different scheduler entity, the GPU scheduler does only wait for the particular job to be scheduled, rather than for the job to fully complete. This is due to the GPU scheduler assuming that there is a scheduler instance per ring. However, the current implementation, in order to avoid arbitrary amounts of kthreads, has a single scheduler instance while scheduler entities represent rings. As a workaround, set the DRM_SCHED_FENCE_DONT_PIPELINE for all out-fences in order to force the scheduler to wait for full job completion for dependent jobs from different entities and same scheduler instance. There is some work in progress [1] to address the issues of firmware schedulers; once it is in-tree the scheduler topology in Nouveau should be re-worked accordingly. 2023-08-23drm/i915: Fix HPD polling, reenabling the output poll work as neededImre Deak
After the commit in the Fixes: line below, HPD polling stopped working on i915, since after that change calling drm_kms_helper_poll_enable() doesn't restart drm_mode_config::output_poll_work if the work was stopped (no connectors needing polling) and enabling polling for a connector (during runtime suspend or detecting an HPD IRQ storm). After the above change calling drm_kms_helper_poll_enable() is a nop after it's been called already and polling for some connectors was disabled/re-enabled. Fix this by calling drm_kms_helper_poll_reschedule() added in the previous patch instead, which reschedules the work whenever expected.
2023-08-23Merge patch series "riscv: fix ptrace and export VLENB"Palmer Dabbelt
Andy Chiu <andy.chiu@sifive.com> says: We add a vlenb field in Vector context and save it with the riscv_vstate_save() macro. It should not cause performance regression as VLENB is a design-time constant and is frequently used by hardware. Also, adding this field into the __sc_riscv_v_state may benifit us on a future compatibility issue becuse a hardware may have writable VLENB. Adding and saving VLENB have an immediate benifit as it gives ptrace a better view of the Vector extension and makes it possible to reconstruct Vector register files from the dump without doing an additional csr read. This patchset also sync the number of note types between us and gdb for riscv to solve a conflicting note. This is not an ABI break given that 6.5 has not been released yet. * b4-shazam-merge: RISC-V: vector: export VLENB csr in __sc_riscv_v_state RISC-V: Remove ptrace support for vectors Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20230816155450.26200-1-andy.chiu@sifive.com Signed-off-by: Palmer Dabbelt <palmer@rivosinc.com>

2023-08-23Add I2S support for the StarFive JH7110 SoCMark Brown
Merge series from Xingyu Wu <xingyu.wu@starfivetech.com>: This patch series adds I2S support for the StarFive JH7110 RISC-V SoC based on Designware I2S controller. There has three I2S channels (RX/TX0/TX1) on the JH7110 SoC, one of which is for record(RX) and two for playback(TX). The first patch adds support for the StarFive JH7110 SoC in the Designware I2S bindings. The second patch adds the ops to get data from platform bus in the I2S driver. The third patch adds support for the StarFive JH7110 SoC in the Designware I2S driver. The fourth patch fixes the name of I2STX1 pinmux. The last patch adds device node of I2S RX/TX0/TX1 in JH7110 dts. This patch series is based on Linux-next(20230818) which is merge clock, syscon and dma nodes for the StarFive JH7110 SoC. The series has been tested and works normally on the VisionFive 2 board by plugging an audio expansion board.
2023-08-23ASoC: rsnd: tidyup ADGMark Brown
Merge series from Kuninori Morimoto <kuninori.morimoto.gx@renesas.com>: Renesas Sound has ADG for clock control. Basically it needs accurately divisible external input clock. But sometimes sometimes it doesn't have to be accurate for some reason. We can use ADG clk_i for such case. It came from CPG as very high rate clock, but is not accurately divisible for 48kHz/44.1kHz rate, but enough for approximate rate. This patch set support such use case.
