2012-03-07drm/radeon: deal with errors from framebuffer init path.Dave Airlie
We've been getting occasional oops running a 32-bit kernel on a certain system in our RHEL test hw. It appears that we fail to get sufficent ioremap space for the framebuffer, and this leads to an oops. This patch should fix the oops and leave a message in the logs we can check for. A future fix would probably to resize the console to a size that we can ioremap. Reviewed-by: Alex Deucher <alexander.deucher@amd.com> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>

2012-03-07NET: sa11x0-ir: add DMA support for SIR transmit modeRussell King
As the DMA engine API allows DMA channels to be reconfigured on the fly, we can now support switching the DMA channel configuration to support SIR transmit DMA without needing to claim an additional physical DMA channel - thereby using up half the DMA channels just for one driver. 2012-03-07DMA: sa11x0: add SA-11x0 DMA driverRussell King
Add support for the SA-11x0 DMA driver, which replaces the private API version in arch/arm/mach-sa1100/dma.c. We model this as a set of virtual DMA channels, one for each request signal, and assign the virtual DMA channel to a physical DMA channel when there is work to be done. This allows DMA users to claim their channels, and hold them while not in use, without affecting the availability of the physical channels. Another advantage over this approach, compared to the private version, is that a channel can be reconfigured on the fly without having to release and re-request it - which for the IrDA driver, allows us to use DMA for SIR mode transmit without eating up three physical channels. As IrDA is half-duplex, we actually only need one physical channel, and this architecture allows us to achieve that. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2012-03-07ALSA: hda - Set codec to D3 forcibly even if not usedTakashi Iwai
We've seen a problem with a pop-noise at suspend/resume on a HP machine with ALC269, and it turned out to be an issue that the controller going to D3 while the codec is unused. When the device is once suspended and resumed and kept unused, the driver doesn't initialize the codecs. Instead, the codec chips are set up dynamically at the first usage. Now, suppose the device going to suspend again before the codec is set up. The controller is turned off to D3 while the codec chips are untouched. This caused a pop noise because the codec chip might have been turned on implicitly by the hardware. As a workaround, the codec chip needs to be set to D3 when going to suspend no matter whether it was used or not. Also, for making it happening, the controller has to be always set up in the resume path. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

2012-03-07ARM: 7355/1: perf: clear overflow flag when disabling counter on ARMv7 PMUWill Deacon
When disabling a counter on an ARMv7 PMU, we should also clear the overflow flag in case an overflow occurred whilst stopping the counter. 2012-03-07ARM: 7354/1: perf: limit sample_period to half max_period in non-sampling modeWill Deacon
On ARM, the PMU does not stop counting after an overflow and therefore IRQ latency affects the new counter value read by the kernel. This is significant for non-sampling runs where it is possible for the new value to overtake the previous one, causing the delta to be out by up to max_period events. Commit a737823d ("ARM: 6835/1: perf: ensure overflows aren't missed due to IRQ latency") attempted to fix this problem by allowing interrupt handlers to pass an overflow flag to the event update function, causing the overflow calculation to assume that the counter passed through zero when going from prev to new. Unfortunately, this doesn't work when overflow occurs on the perf_task_tick path because we have the flag cleared and end up computing a large negative delta. This patch removes the overflow flag from armpmu_event_update and instead limits the sample_period to half of the max_period for non-sampling profiling runs. 2012-03-07ath6kl: Maintain the listen interval per VIF specificRaja Mani
Firmware has the option to support the listen interval per vif specific. Fix this. Listen interval can be set by the TUs or by the number of beacons. Current code enables the user to configure the listen interval in the unit of 'number of beacons' using debugfs entry "listen_interval". Going forward, we need to alter the listen interval in the unit of TUs to get good power numbers while going to WOW suspend/resume. Allowing the user to change the listen interval in the unit of "number of beacons" in debugfs and changing listen interval in wow suspend/resume in the unit of time (TUs) would lead us to confuse. This patch make sures the listen interval is changed only in the unit of time (TUs). Signed-off-by: Raja Mani <rmani@qca.qualcomm.com> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@qca.qualcomm.com>

Fix from Li Wei. 3) Netfilter's NAT module autoload in ctnetlink drops a spinlock around a sleeping call, problem is this code path doesn't actually hold that lock. Fix from Pablo Neira Ayuso. 4) TG3 uses the wrong interfaces to hook into the new byte queue limit support. It uses the device level interfaces, which is fine for single queue devices, but on more recent chips this driver supports multiqueue so we have to use the multiqueue BQL APIs. Fix from Tom Herbert. 5) r8169 resume fix from Francois Romieu. 6) Add some cxgb4 device IDs, from Vipul Pandya. * git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net: IPv6: Fix not join all-router mcast group when forwarding set. caif-hsi: Set default MTU to 4096 cxgb4vf: Add support for Chelsio's T480-CR and T440-LP-CR adapters cxgb4: Add support for Chelsio's T480-CR and T440-LP-CR adapters mlx4_core: remove buggy sched_queue masking netfilter: nf_conntrack: fix early_drop with reliable event delivery bridge: netfilter: don't call iptables on vlan packets if sysctl is off netfilter: bridge: fix wrong pointer dereference netfilter: ctnetlink: remove incorrect spin_[un]lock_bh on NAT module autoload netfilter: ebtables: fix wrong name length while copying to user-space r8169: runtime resume before shutdown. tcp: fix tcp_shift_skb_data() to not shift SACKed data below snd_una tg3: Fix to use multi queue BQL interfaces
2012-03-07sh: fix up the ubc clock definition for sh7785.Thomas Schwinge
Presently the SH7785 code misdefines the UBC clock connection ID in relation to the other CPUs. This makes it uniform, so that things like single-stepping work again. Signed-off-by: Thomas Schwinge <thomas@codesourcery.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
