2014-06-02drm/msm: add rd logging debugfsRob Clark
To ease debugging, add debugfs file which can be cat/tail'd to log submits, along with fence #. If GPU hangs, you can look at 'gpu' debugfs file to find last completed fence and current register state, and compare with logged rd file to narrow down the DRAW_INDX which triggered the GPU hang. 2014-06-02x86/efi: Do not export efi runtime map in case old mapDave Young
For ioremapped efi memory aka old_map the virt addresses are not persistant across kexec reboot. kexec-tools will read the runtime maps from sysfs then pass them to 2nd kernel and assuming kexec efi boot is ok. This will cause kexec boot failure. To address this issue do not export runtime maps in case efi old_map so userspace can use no efi boot instead. Added STM sensor hub new device id. Also added this new device in HID_SENSOR_HUB_ENUM_QUIRK to fix report descriptors. These devices uses old FW which uses logical 0 as minimum. In these, HID reports are not using proper collection classes. So we need to fix report descriptors, for such devices. This will not have any impact, if the FW uses logical 1 as minimum. 2014-06-02intel_pstate: add sample time scalingDirk Brandewie
The PID assumes that samples are of equal time, which for a deferable timers this is not true when the system goes idle. This causes the PID to take a long time to converge to the min P state and depending on the pattern of the idle load can make the P state appear stuck. The hold-off value of three sample times before using the scaling is to give a grace period for applications that have high performance requirements and spend a lot of time idle, The poster child for this behavior is the ffmpeg benchmark in the Phoronix test suite. 2014-06-02intel_pstate: Correct rounding in busy calculationDirk Brandewie
Changing to fixed point math throughout the busy calculation in commit e66c1768 (Change busy calculation to use fixed point math.) Introduced some inaccuracies by rounding the busy value at two points in the calculation. This change removes roundings and moves the rounding to the output of the PID where the calculations are complete and the value returned as an integer. 2014-06-02Bluetooth: Fix L2CAP deadlockJukka Taimisto
-[0x01 Introduction We have found a programming error causing a deadlock in Bluetooth subsystem of Linux kernel. The problem is caused by missing release_sock() call when L2CAP connection creation fails due full accept queue. The issue can be reproduced with 3.15-rc5 kernel and is also present in earlier kernels. -[0x02 Details The problem occurs when multiple L2CAP connections are created to a PSM which contains listening socket (like SDP) and left pending, for example, configuration (the underlying ACL link is not disconnected between connections). When L2CAP connection request is received and listening socket is found the l2cap_sock_new_connection_cb() function (net/bluetooth/l2cap_sock.c) is called. This function locks the 'parent' socket and then checks if the accept queue is full. 1178 lock_sock(parent); 1179 1180 /* Check for backlog size */ 1181 if (sk_acceptq_is_full(parent)) { 1182 BT_DBG("backlog full %d", parent->sk_ack_backlog); 1183 return NULL; 1184 } If case the accept queue is full NULL is returned, but the 'parent' socket is not released. Thus when next L2CAP connection request is received the code blocks on lock_sock() since the parent is still locked. Also note that for connections already established and waiting for configuration to complete a timeout will occur and l2cap_chan_timeout() (net/bluetooth/l2cap_core.c) will be called. All threads calling this function will also be blocked waiting for the channel mutex since the thread which is waiting on lock_sock() alread holds the channel mutex. We were able to reproduce this by sending continuously L2CAP connection request followed by disconnection request containing invalid CID. This left the created connections pending configuration. After the deadlock occurs it is impossible to kill bluetoothd, btmon will not get any more data etc. requiring reboot to recover. -[0x03 Fix Releasing the 'parent' socket when l2cap_sock_new_connection_cb() returns NULL seems to fix the issue. The device which identifies itself as a "USB Keykoard" (no typo) with VID:PID 1a2c:0023 does not seem to be handling the reports initialization very well. 2014-06-02netfilter: nf_tables: allow to delete several objects from a batchPablo Neira Ayuso
Three changes to allow the deletion of several objects with dependencies in one transaction, they are: 1) Introduce speculative counter increment/decrement that is undone in the abort path if required, thus we avoid hitting -EBUSY when deleting the chain. The counter updates are reverted in the abort path. 2) Increment/decrement table/chain use counter for each set/rule. We need this to fully rely on the use counters instead of the list content, eg. !list_empty(&chain->rules) which evaluate true in the middle of the transaction. 3) Decrement table use counter when an anonymous set is bound to the rule in the commit path. This avoids hitting -EBUSY when deleting the table that contains anonymous sets. The anonymous sets are released in the nf_tables_rule_destroy path. This should not be a problem since the rule already bumped the use counter of the chain, so the bound anonymous set reflects dependencies through the rule object, which already increases the chain use counter. So the general assumption after this patch is that the use counters are bumped by direct object dependencies. Signed-off-by: Pablo Neira Ayuso <pablo@netfilter.org>
2014-06-02netfilter: nft_rbtree: introduce lockingPablo Neira Ayuso

2014-06-02netfilter: nf_tables: release objects in reverse order in the abort pathPablo Neira Ayuso
The patch c7c32e7 ("netfilter: nf_tables: defer all object release via rcu") indicates that we always release deleted objects in the reverse order, but that is only needed in the abort path. These are the two possible scenarios when releasing objects: 1) Deletion scenario in the commit path: no need to release objects in the reverse order since userspace already ensures that dependencies are fulfilled), ie. userspace tells us to delete rule -> ... -> rule -> chain -> table. In this case, we have to release the objects in the *same order* as userspace provided. 2) Deletion scenario in the abort path: we have to iterate in the reverse order to undo what it cannot be added, ie. userspace sent us a batch that includes: table -> chain -> rule -> ... -> rule, and that needs to be partially undone. In this case, we have to release objects in the reverse order to ensure that the set and chain objects point to valid rule and table objects. Signed-off-by: Pablo Neira Ayuso <pablo@netfilter.org>
2014-06-02netfilter: nf_tables: fix wrong transaction ordering in set elementsPablo Neira Ayuso

Thus, I think this assertion is wrong and should be removed. Suppose there are two clean znodes and one dirty znode in TNC. So the per-filesystem atomic_t @clean_zn_cnt is (2). If commit start, dirty_znode is set to COW_ZNODE in get_znodes_to_commit() in case of potentially ops on this znode. We clear COW bit and DIRTY bit in write_index() without @tnc_mutex locked. We don't increase @clean_zn_cnt in this place. As the comments in write_index() shows, if another process hold @tnc_mutex and dirty this znode after we clean it, @clean_zn_cnt would be decreased to (1). We will increase @clean_zn_cnt to (2) with @tnc_mutex locked in free_obsolete_znodes() to keep it right. If shrink_tnc() performs between decrease and increase, it will release other 2 clean znodes it holds and found @clean_zn_cnt is less than zero (1 - 2 = -1), then hit the assertion. Because free_obsolete_znodes() will soon correct @clean_zn_cnt and no harm to fs in this case, I think this assertion could be removed. 2 clean zondes and 1 dirty znode, @clean_zn_cnt == 2 Thread A (commit) Thread B (write or others) Thread C (shrinker) ->write_index ->clear_bit(DIRTY_NODE) ->clear_bit(COW_ZNODE) @clean_zn_cnt == 2 ->mutex_locked(&tnc_mutex) ->dirty_cow_znode ->!ubifs_zn_cow(znode) ->!test_and_set_bit(DIRTY_NODE) ->atomic_dec(&clean_zn_cnt) ->mutex_unlocked(&tnc_mutex) @clean_zn_cnt == 1 ->mutex_locked(&tnc_mutex) ->shrink_tnc ->destroy_tnc_subtree ->atomic_sub(&clean_zn_cnt, 2) ->ubifs_assert <- hit ->mutex_unlocked(&tnc_mutex) @clean_zn_cnt == -1 ->mutex_lock(&tnc_mutex) ->free_obsolete_znodes ->atomic_inc(&clean_zn_cnt) ->mutux_unlock(&tnc_mutex) @clean_zn_cnt == 0 (correct after shrink) Signed-off-by: hujianyang <hujianyang@huawei.com> Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <artem.bityutskiy@linux.intel.com>
2014-06-02ARM: ensure C page table setup code follows assembly codeRussell King
Fix a long standing bug where, for ARMv6+, we don't fully ensure that the C code sets the same cache policy as the assembly code. This was introduced partially by commit 11179d8ca28d ([ARM] 4497/1: Only allow safe cache configurations on ARMv6 and later) and also by adding SMP support. This patch sets the default cache policy based on the flags used by the assembly code, and then ensures that when a cache policy command line argument is used, we verify that on ARMv6, it matches the initial setup. Only gma500 is still using this, once that's converted we can kill all this code. 2014-06-02net: ks8851: Don't use regulator_get_optional()Stephen Boyd
We shouldn't be using regulator_get_optional() here. These regulators are always present as part of the physical design and there isn't any way to use an internal regulator or change the source of the reference voltage via software. Given that the only users of this driver in the kernel are DT based, this change should be transparent to them even if they don't specify any supplies because the regulator framework will insert dummy supplies as needed. 2014-06-02ALSA: firewire-lib: Use IEC 61883-6 compliant labels for Raw Audio dataTakashi Sakamoto
According to AM824 in IEC 61883-6:2002, 2 bits in LSB of label for Raw Audio data means Valid Length Code (VBL). Ths value is: - b00 for 24 bits sample (label is 0x40) - b01 for 20 bits sample (label is 0x41) - b10 for 16 bits sample (label is 0x42) But current firewire-lib apply 24 bits label for both of 16/24 bits samples. As long as developers investigate BeBoB/Fireworks/OXFW/Dice, all of them have a behaviour to ignore the label. They can generate correct sound even if firewire-lib gives wrong label (i.e. 0xff). On BeBoB, this is not only for Raw Audio data channel, but also for IEC 60958 Conformant data channel. So there is little possibility of regression. 2014-06-02drm/exynos: consider deferred probe caseInki Dae
This patch makes sure that exynos drm framework handles deferred probe case correctly. Sub drivers could be probed before resources, clock, regulator, phy or panel, are ready for them so we should make sure that exynos drm core waits until all resources are ready and sub drivers are probed correctly. Chagelog v2: - Make sure that exynos drm core tries to bind sub drivers only in case that they have a pair: crtc and encoder/connector components should be a pair. - Remove unnecessary patch: drm/exynos: mipi-dsi: consider panel driver-deferred probe - Return error type correctly. As the first two patches from this series contain additional test cases for the test suite, I have rebased them on top of current net-next with the set from [1] applied to avoid introducing any unnecessary merge conflicts. For details, please refer to the individual patches. Test suite runs fine with the set applied.
