Interrupts were being cleaned up late in the shutdown handler, it is possible
that an interrupt can occur and schedule a tasklet that runs after the port is
cleaned up. There is a null dereference due to this race condition with the

In rx dma-callback it calls tasklet_schedule, if the tasklet
be scheduled after all the dma-callback in the rx dma channel,
current check condition in the tasklet will not do fetch dma
buffer into tty because tx_issued is equal with tx_completed,
so as timeout tasklet does.
so we check whether we should fetch the whole dma buffer into
tty according to the status of transactions in rx dma channel.

this patch provides PM entry of uart_ops, then drop clk enable and
disable because serial core will do it.
the patch also fixes the issue that uart hang in resume caused by
not-enabled clock.

use SET_SYSTEM_SLEEP_PM_OPS to initialize suspend/resume functions
instead of legacy suspend and resume entries of platform_driver.
this will add hibernation support automatically as suspend to disk
entries are also set.

This helps increasing build testing coverage.
To do this, read{write}_relaxed() functions was be replaced with
simple read{write}() variants. Potential "uninitialized variable"
warnings was be fixed if driver compiled without MFD_SYSCON.

The four variants of the synclink driver use the same code in their
open() callback to wait for a port in process of being closed,
using interruptible_sleep_on, which is racy and going away soon.
Making things worse, these functions hold the BTM while doing so,
which means that if we ever enter this code path, we cannot actually
continue since the other thread that is in process of closing the
port can no longer get the BTM.
This addresses both issues by using wait_event_interruptible_tty()
instead.

interruptible_sleep_on is generally problematic and we want to get
rid of it. In case of TIOCMIWAIT, that race is actually in user
space and does not get fixed since we can only detect changes after
entering the ioctl handler, but it removes one more caller.
This instance can not be trivially replaced with wait_event, so
I chose to open-code the wait loop using prepare_to_wait/finish_wait.

None of these files are actually using any __init type directives
and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a
left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to
code getting copied from one driver to the next.

Genuine FTDI chips support only CS7/8. A previous fix in commit
8704211f65a2 ("USB: ftdi_sio: fixed handling of unsupported CSIZE
setting") enforced this limitation and reported it back to userspace.
However, certain types of smartcard readers depend on specific
driver behaviour that requests 0 data bits (not 5) to change into a
different operating mode if CS5 has been set.
This patch reenables this behaviour for all FTDI devices.
Tagged to be added to stable, because it affects a lot of users of
embedded systems which rely on these readers to work properly.

Without this patch a seperate chunk of memory is allocated for the regmap
array. As the regmap is always used it makes no sense to allocate a seperate
memory block for it, this patch moves the regmap array directly into the struct
hw_bank.

CONFIG_USB_DEBUG is going away, and all of the other USB drivers no
longer rely on "debug" module parameters for debugging lines, so move
the pcwd_usb driver to use the dynamic debug infrastructure to be more
in line with the rest of the kernel.

According to CY7C67300 specification HPI read and write cycle duration
Tcyc must be at least 6T long, where T is 1/48MHz, which is 125ns.
Without this delay fast host processor cannot write to chip registers.
Add proper ndelay to hpi_{read,write}_reg.

When we pull a received packet from a link's 'deferred packets' queue
for processing, its 'next' pointer is not cleared, and still refers to
the next packet in that queue, if any. This is incorrect, but caused
no harm before commit 40ba3cdf542a469aaa9083fa041656e59b109b90 ("tipc:
message reassembly using fragment chain") was introduced. After that

This happens when the last fragment of a message has passed through the
the receiving link's 'deferred packets' queue, and at least one other
packet was added to that queue while it was there. After the fragment
chain with the complete message has been successfully delivered to the
receiving socket, it is released. Since 'next' pointer of the last
fragment in the released chain now is non-NULL, we get the crash shown
above.
We fix this by clearing the 'next' pointer of all received packets,
including those being pulled from the 'deferred' queue, before they
undergo any further processing.

This reverts commit 787b0d5c1ca7ff24feb6f92e4c7f4410ee7d81a8 since
it is no longer required after 7909/1 was applied, and it causes

There is a race in the hub driver between hub_disconnect() and
recursively_mark_NOTATTACHED(). This race can be triggered if the
driver is unbound from a device at the same time as the bus's root hub
is removed. When the race occurs, it can cause an oops:

One problem is that recursively_mark_NOTATTACHED() uses the intfdata
value and hub->hdev->maxchild while hub_disconnect() is clearing them.
Another problem is that it uses hub->ports[i] while the port device is
being released.
To fix this race, we need to hold the device_state_lock while
hub_disconnect() changes the values. (Note that usb_disconnect()
and hub_port_connect_change() already acquire this lock at similar
critical times during a USB device's life cycle.) We also need to
remove the port devices after maxchild has been set to 0, instead of
before.

After commit 99f14bd4d1 "Merge 3.13-rc5 into usb-next" (in linux-next as of
today), I'm getting this error building any at91 kernel:

Jani for co-maintainer!
Jani has been a really active bug-scrubber in the past few months.
I've asked him whether he wants to do this in a more official capacity
and he agreed. I've already chatted with Dave and Jesse and they
support this.
Note that everyone can't now just relax because "Jani will do all the
bug scrubbing" - au contraire expect more nagging and poking now that
we have more bandwidth.
Longer-term the plan is to share more of the maintainer duties, but we
need to fix up the infrastructure a bit first (like moving the git
repo to a common location).
While at it also add the newly set-up patchwork instance.

None of these files are actually using any __init type directives
and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a
left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to
code getting copied from one driver to the next.

This fixes a hang in VBIOS scripts of the form "condition; jump".
The jump used to always be executed, while now it will only be
executed if the condition is true.

This patch supports Maxim MAX14577 MUIC(Micro USB Interface Controller)
device by using EXTCON subsystem to handle various external connectors.
The max14577 device uses regmap method for i2c communication and
supports irq domain.

wm5110 rev D is the first chip to use headphone detection IP 2, specify
such and make a small correction as the impedance value is actually read
in 0.5 ohm increments now.

No point in revisiting ranges the detection will be no more accurate
the second time simply report that the resistance is right on the
range boundry.

The microphone detection code is run as delayed work to provide
additional debounce, it is possible that the jack could have been
removed by the time we process the microphone detection. Turn this
case into a no op.

Always cross check with the ID state and the source of interrupt.
Also add a case in which ID Source is ID_GND but LATCH state is set
wrongly. This uses the previous Link stat to determine the new state.

The Palmas device contains only a USB VBUS-ID detector, so added a
compatible type *ti,palmas-usb-vid*. Didn't remove the existing compatible
types for backward compatibility.
