This change addresses two warnings that are flagged by gcc relating to potential access to the ssr and cks variables while they are uninitialised. I have addressed this by initialising the values to the defaults present in sci_baud_calc_hscif(). It is my analysis that cks is always initialised if used but that without this change ssr may be accessed while uninitialised. The code altered by this patch was introduced by commit f303b364b41d3fc5bf879799128958400b7859aa ("serial: sh-sci: HSCIF support"). 2013-06-26ARC: pt_regs update #5: Use real ECR for pt_regs->event vs. synth valuesVineet Gupta
pt_regs->event was set with artificial values to identify the low level system event (syscall trap / breakpoint trap / exceptions / interrupts) With r8 saving out of the way, the full word can be used to save real ECR (Exception Cause Register) which helps idenify the event naturally, including additional info such as cause code, param. Only for Interrupts, where ECR is not applicable, do we resort to synthetic non ECR values. SAVE_ALL_TRAP/EXCEPTIONS can now be merged as they both use ECR with different runtime values. The ptrace helpers now use the sub-fields of ECR to distinguish the events (e.g. vector 0x25 is trap, param 0 is syscall...) The following benefits will follow: (1) This centralizes the location of where ECR is saved and will allow the cleanup of task->thread.cause_code ECR placeholder which is set in non-uniform way. Then ARC VM code can safely rely on it being there for purpose of finer grained VM_EXEC dcache flush (based on exec fault: I-TLB Miss) (2) Further, ECR being passed around from low level handlers as arg can be eliminated as it is part of standard reg-file in pt_regs Signed-off-by: Vineet Gupta <vgupta@synopsys.com>

2013-06-25gpio/omap: don't use linear domain mapping for OMAP1Javier Martinez Canillas
Commit ede4d7a5 ("gpio/omap: convert gpio irq domain to linear mapping") converted the OMAP GPIO driver to use a linear mapping for the GPIO IRQ domain instead of using a legacy mapping. Not using a legacy mapping has a number of benefits but it requires the platform to support SPARSE_IRQ which currently is not supported on OMAP1. So this change caused a regression on OMAP1 platforms [1]. Since this issue is not present on all OMAP2+ platforms, there is no need to revert the driver to use legacy domain mapping for all the platforms. 2013-06-26md: fix buglet in RAID5 -> RAID0 conversion.NeilBrown
RAID5 uses a 'per-array' value for the 'size' of each device. RAID0 uses a 'per-device' value - it can be different for each device. When converting a RAID5 to a RAID0 we must ensure that the per-device size of each device matches the per-array size for the RAID5, else the array will change size. If the metadata cannot record a changed per-device size (as is the case with v0.90 metadata) the array could get bigger on restart. However with the fixes introduced in later patches commit cd8abed1da91a3250aa4b3857479613a2b446f84 (ARM: OMAP2+: Powerdomain: Remove the need to always have a voltdm associated to a pwrdm) We are no longer restricted in that respect. Further, OPP voltage information is supposed to be provided by dts information. This needs to be added in future patches as various voltage modules are converted to dts. 2013-06-25net/tg3: Avoid delay during MMIO accessGavin Shan
When the EEH error is the result of a fenced host bridge, MMIO accesses can be very slow (milliseconds) to timeout and return all 1's, thus causing the driver various timeout loops to take way too long and trigger soft-lockup warnings (in addition to taking minutes to recover). It might be worthwhile to check if for any of these cases, ffffffff is a valid possible value, and if not, bail early since that means the HW is either gone or isolated. In the meantime, checking that the PCI channel is offline would be workaround of the problem. commit ea1418b5f1a (usb: chipidea: i.MX: use devm_usb_get_phy_by_phandle to get phy) causes the USB host to miss the disconnect/connect events. In order to reproduce this problem: - Insert a USB thumb into the USB host port (connection is detected) - Remove it (no disconnect event will be reported) - Insert the USB thumb again (connection is not detected) Fix this problem by accessing the usb_phy structure using the private data instead of accessing a local structure. The control registers are unsigned long (32 bits on i386, 64 bits on x86-64), and so make that manifest in the data type for the various constants. Add defines with a _BIT suffix which defines the bit number, as opposed to the bit mask. This should resolve some issues with ~bitmask that Linus discovered. 2013-06-25powerpc/watchdog: Don't enable interrupt on PPC64 BookETudor Laurentiu
Critical interrupts are not handled on PPC64 BookE machines, so when the first watchdog interrupt fires the machine will freeze without a warning until it's rebooted by the second watchdog trigger. Plus, the interrupt isn't used anyway since the driver expects a usermode app to ping the watchdog periodically. Currently, HPAGE_PMD_* constans rely on PMD_SHIFT regardless of CONFIG_TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE. PMD_SHIFT is not defined everywhere (e.g. arm nommu case). It means we can't use anything like this in generic code: if (PageTransHuge(page)) zero_huge_user(page, 0, HPAGE_PMD_SIZE); else clear_highpage(page); For !THP case, PageTransHuge() is 0 and compiler can eliminate zero_huge_user() call. But it still need to be valid C expression, means HPAGE_PMD_SIZE has to expand to something compiler can understand. Previously, HPAGE_PMD_* were defined to BUILD_BUG() for !THP. 2013-06-25i2c-cpm: Fix to takeback i2c bus master-ship after a collisionSachin Surendran
In case of collision on i2c bus the controller which lost bus mastership stays as a slave for all subsequent transfers. This results in the i2c controller never writing to the bus for future transactions, resulting in i2c transfer timeouts. This fix checks for a collision on last I2C transaction and sets the I2COM_MASTER bit for the new transaction. Router Alert option is marked in skb. Previously, IP6CB(skb)->ra was set to positive value for such packets. Since commit dd3332bf ("ipv6: Store Router Alert option in IP6CB directly."), IP6SKB_ROUTERALERT is set in IP6CB(skb)->flags, and the value of Router Alert option (in network byte order) is set to IP6CB(skb)->ra for such packets. Multicast forwarding path uses that flag and value, but unicast forwarding path does not use the flag and misuses IP6CB(skb)->ra value. 2013-06-25futex: Use freezable blocking callColin Cross
Avoid waking up every thread sleeping in a futex_wait call during suspend and resume by calling a freezable blocking call. Previous patches modified the freezer to avoid sending wakeups to threads that are blocked in freezable blocking calls. This call was selected to be converted to a freezable call because it doesn't hold any locks or release any resources when interrupted that might be needed by another freezing task or a kernel driver during suspend, and is a common site where idle userspace tasks are blocked. 2013-06-25futex: Take hugepages into account when generating futex_keyZhang Yi
The futex_keys of process shared futexes are generated from the page offset, the mapping host and the mapping index of the futex user space address. This should result in an unique identifier for each futex. Though this is not true when futexes are located in different subpages of an hugepage. The reason is, that the mapping index for all those futexes evaluates to the index of the base page of the hugetlbfs mapping. So a futex at offset 0 of the hugepage mapping and another one at offset PAGE_SIZE of the same hugepage mapping have identical futex_keys. This happens because the futex code blindly uses page->index. Steps to reproduce the bug: 1. Map a file from hugetlbfs. Initialize pthread_mutex1 at offset 0 and pthread_mutex2 at offset PAGE_SIZE of the hugetlbfs mapping. The mutexes must be initialized as PTHREAD_PROCESS_SHARED because PTHREAD_PROCESS_PRIVATE mutexes are not affected by this issue as their keys solely depend on the user space address. 2. Lock mutex1 and mutex2 3. Create thread1 and in the thread function lock mutex1, which results in thread1 blocking on the locked mutex1. 4. Create thread2 and in the thread function lock mutex2, which results in thread2 blocking on the locked mutex2. 5. Unlock mutex2. Despite the fact that mutex2 got unlocked, thread2 still blocks on mutex2 because the futex_key points to mutex1. To solve this issue we need to take the normal page index of the page which contains the futex into account, if the futex is in an hugetlbfs mapping. In other words, we calculate the normal page mapping index of the subpage in the hugetlbfs mapping. Mappings which are not based on hugetlbfs are not affected and still use page->index. Thanks to Mel Gorman who provided a patch for adding proper evaluation functions to the hugetlbfs code to avoid exposing hugetlbfs specific details to the futex code. The SOC support is available in mach-sti which contains support code for STiH415, STiH416 SOCs including the generic board support.
