2023-01-04perf stat: Fix handling of --for-each-cgroup with --bpf-counters to match ↵Namhyung Kim
non BPF mode The --for-each-cgroup can have the same cgroup multiple times, but this confuses BPF counters (since they have the same cgroup id), making only the last cgroup events to be counted. Let's check the cgroup name before adding a new entry to the cgroups list. 2023-01-04perf stat: Fix handling of unsupported cgroup events when using BPF countersNamhyung Kim
When --for-each-cgroup option is used, it fails when any of events is not supported and exits immediately. This is not how 'perf stat' handles unsupported events. 2023-01-04drm/i915/dp: change aux_ctl reg read to polling readArun R Murthy
The busy timeout logic checks for the AUX BUSY, then waits for the timeout period and then after timeout reads the register for BUSY or Success. Instead replace interrupt with polling so as to read the AUX CTL register often before the timeout period. Looks like there might be some issue with interrupt-on-read. 2023-01-04ALSA: usb-audio: More refactoring of hw constraint rulesTakashi Iwai
Although we applied a workaround for the hw constraints code with the implicit feedback sync, it still has a potential problem. Namely, as the code treats only the first matching (sync) endpoint, it might be too restrictive when multiple endpoints are listed in the substream's format list. This patch is another attempt to improve the hw constraint handling for the implicit feedback sync. The code is rewritten and the sync EP handling for the rate and the format is put inside the fmt_list loop in each hw_rule_*() function instead of the additional rules. The rules for the period size and periods are extended to loop over the fmt_list like others, and they apply the constraints only if needed. 2023-01-04ALSA: usb-audio: Relax hw constraints for implicit fb syncTakashi Iwai
The fix commit the commit e4ea77f8e53f ("ALSA: usb-audio: Always apply the hw constraints for implicit fb sync") tried to address the bug where an incorrect PCM parameter is chosen when two (implicit fb) streams are set up at the same time. This change had, however, some side effect: once when the sync endpoint is chosen and set up, this restriction is applied at the next hw params unless it's freed via hw free explicitly. This patch is a workaround for the problem by relaxing the hw constraints a bit for the implicit fb sync. We still keep applying the hw constraints for implicit fb sync, but only when the matching sync EP is being used by other streams. 2023-01-04ALSA: usb-audio: Make sure to stop endpoints before closing EPsTakashi Iwai
At the PCM hw params, we may re-configure the endpoints and it's done by a temporary EP close followed by re-open. A potential problem there is that the EP might be already running internally at the PCM prepare stage; it's seen typically in the playback stream with the implicit feedback sync. As this stream start isn't tracked by the core PCM layer, we'd need to stop it explicitly, and that's the missing piece. This patch adds the stop_endpoints() call at snd_usb_hw_params() to assure the stream stop before closing the EPs. 2023-01-03drm/msm/dp: do not complete dp_aux_cmd_fifo_tx() if irq is not for aux transferKuogee Hsieh
There are 3 possible interrupt sources are handled by DP controller, HPDstatus, Controller state changes and Aux read/write transaction. At every irq, DP controller have to check isr status of every interrupt sources and service the interrupt if its isr status bits shows interrupts are pending. There is potential race condition may happen at current aux isr handler implementation since it is always complete dp_aux_cmd_fifo_tx() even irq is not for aux read or write transaction. This may cause aux read transaction return premature if host aux data read is in the middle of waiting for sink to complete transferring data to host while irq happen. This will cause host's receiving buffer contains unexpected data. This patch fixes this problem by checking aux isr and return immediately at aux isr handler if there are no any isr status bits set. Current there is a bug report regrading eDP edid corruption happen during system booting up. After lengthy debugging to found that VIDEO_READY interrupt was continuously firing during system booting up which cause dp_aux_isr() to complete dp_aux_cmd_fifo_tx() prematurely to retrieve data from aux hardware buffer which is not yet contains complete data transfer from sink. This cause edid corruption. 2023-01-03of/fdt: run soc memory setup when early_init_dt_scan_memory failsAndreas Rammhold
If memory has been found early_init_dt_scan_memory now returns 1. If it hasn't found any memory it will return 0, allowing other memory setup mechanisms to carry on. Previously early_init_dt_scan_memory always returned 0 without distinguishing between any kind of memory setup being done or not. Any code path after the early_init_dt_scan memory call in the ramips plat_mem_setup code wouldn't be executed anymore. Making early_init_dt_scan_memory the only way to initialize the memory. Some boards, including my mt7621 based Cudy X6 board, depend on memory initialization being done via the soc_info.mem_detect function pointer. Those wouldn't be able to obtain memory and panic the kernel during early bootup with the message "early_init_dt_alloc_memory_arch: Failed to allocate 12416 bytes align=0x40". 2023-01-03drm/amd/display: Fix dsc mismatch of acquire and validation of dsc engineBhawanpreet Lakha
[Why] We skip dsc_validation on pipes that are underlays, but in the acquire_dsc code we don't have this check. In certain conditions (when underlay pipe index is lower) we will assign the dsc resource to the underlay pipe and skip the base pipe. Now during dsc_validation we will skip the underlay pipe (this has the dsc resource) but try to validate the base pipe(this doesn't have a dsc resource) due to this mismatch we hit a NULLPTR [How] In the acquire_dsc add a check for underlay pipe so we don't acquire a dsc resource for this pipe. This will match the acquire/validation conditions. [Why] multiple display hdcp are enabled within event_property_validate, event_property_update by looping all displays on mst hub. when one of display on mst hub in unplugged or disabled, hdcp are disabled for all displays on mst hub within hdcp_reset_display by looping all displays of mst link. for displays still active, their encryption status are off. kernel driver will not run hdcp authentication again. therefore, hdcp are not enabled automatically. [How] within is_content_protection_different, check drm_crtc_state changes of all displays on mst hub, if need, triger hdcp_update_display to re-run hdcp authentication. Rename vram_scratch into mem_scratch and allow allocating it into GTT as well. The only problem with that is that we won't have a default page for the system aperture any more.
