2021-12-14ice: Use int for ice_statusTony Nguyen
To prepare for removal of ice_status, change the variables from ice_status to int. This eases the transition when values are changed to return standard int error codes over enum ice_status. Signed-off-by: Tony Nguyen <anthony.l.nguyen@intel.com> Tested-by: Gurucharan G <gurucharanx.g@intel.com>
2021-12-14ice: Remove string printing for ice_statusTony Nguyen
Remove the ice_stat_str() function which prints the string representation of the ice_status error code. With upcoming changes moving away from ice_status, there will be no need for this function. 2021-12-14ice: Refactor status flow for DDP loadWojciech Drewek
Before this change, final state of the DDP pkg load process was dependent on many variables such as: ice_status, pkg version, ice_aq_err. The last one had be stored in hw->pkg_dwnld_status. It was impossible to conclude this state just from ice_status, that's why logging process of DDP pkg load in the caller was a little bit complicated. With this patch new status enum is introduced - ice_ddp_state. It covers all the possible final states of the loading process. What's tricky for ice_ddp_state is that not only ICE_DDP_PKG_SUCCESS(=0) means that load was successful. Actually three states mean that: - ICE_DDP_PKG_SUCCESS - ICE_DDP_PKG_SAME_VERSION_ALREADY_LOADED - ICE_DDP_PKG_COMPATIBLE_ALREADY_LOADED ice_is_init_pkg_successful can tell that information. One ddp_state should not be used outside of ice_init_pkg which is ICE_DDP_PKG_ALREADY_LOADED. It is more generic, it is used in ice_dwnld_cfg_bufs to see if pkg is already loaded. At this point we can't use one of the specific one (SAME_VERSION, COMPATIBLE, NOT_SUPPORTED) because we don't have information on the package currently loaded in HW (we are before calling ice_get_pkg_info). We can get rid of hw->pkg_dwnld_status because we are immediately mapping aq errors to ice_ddp_state in ice_dwnld_cfg_bufs. Other errors like ICE_ERR_NO_MEMORY, ICE_ERR_PARAM are mapped the generic ICE_DDP_PKG_ERR. 2021-12-14arm64: Use BTI C directly and unconditionallyMark Brown
Now we have a macro for BTI C that looks like a regular instruction change all the users of the current BTI_C macro to just emit a BTI C directly and remove the macro. This does mean that we now unconditionally BTI annotate all assembly functions, meaning that they are worse in this respect than code generated by the compiler. The overhead should be minimal for implementations with a reasonable HINT implementation. 2021-12-14ASoC: meson: aiu: Move AIU_I2S_MISC hold setting to aiu-fifo-i2sMartin Blumenstingl
The out-of-tree vendor driver uses the following approach to set the AIU_I2S_MISC register: 1) write AIU_MEM_I2S_START_PTR and AIU_MEM_I2S_RD_PTR 2) configure AIU_I2S_MUTE_SWAP[15:0] 3) write AIU_MEM_I2S_END_PTR 4) set AIU_I2S_MISC[2] to 1 (documented as: "put I2S interface in hold mode") 5) set AIU_I2S_MISC[4] to 1 (depending on the driver revision it always stays at 1 while for older drivers this bit is unset in step 4) 6) set AIU_I2S_MISC[2] to 0 7) write AIU_MEM_I2S_MASKS 8) toggle AIU_MEM_I2S_CONTROL[0] 9) toggle AIU_MEM_I2S_BUF_CNTL[0] Move setting the AIU_I2S_MISC[2] bit to aiu_fifo_i2s_hw_params() so it resembles the flow in the vendor kernel more closely. While here also configure AIU_I2S_MISC[4] (documented as: "force each audio data to left or right according to the bit attached with the audio data") similar to how the vendor driver does this. 2021-12-14drm/i915/debugfs: add noreclaim annotationsMatthew Auld
We have a debugfs hook to directly call into i915_gem_shrink() with the fs_reclaim acquire annotations to simulate hitting direct reclaim. However we should also annotate this with memalloc_noreclaim, which will set PF_MEMALLOC for us on the current context, to ensure we can't re-enter direct reclaim(just like "real" direct reclaim does). This is an issue now that ttm_bo_validate could potentially be called here, which might try to allocate a tiny amount of memory to hold the new ttm_resource struct, as per the below splat: [ 2507.913844] WARNING: possible recursive locking detected [ 2507.913848] 5.16.0-rc4+ #5 Tainted: G U [ 2507.913853] -------------------------------------------- [ 2507.913856] gem_exec_captur/1825 is trying to acquire lock: [ 2507.913861] ffffffffb9df2500 (fs_reclaim){..}-{0:0}, at: kmem_cache_alloc_trace+0x30/0x390 [ 2507.913875] but task is already holding lock: [ 2507.913879] ffffffffb9df2500 (fs_reclaim){..}-{0:0}, at: i915_drop_caches_set+0x1c9/0x2c0 [i915] [ 2507.913962] other info that might help us debug this: [ 2507.913966] Possible unsafe locking scenario: [ 2507.913970] CPU0 [ 2507.913973] ---- [ 2507.913975] lock(fs_reclaim); [ 2507.913979] lock(fs_reclaim); [ 2507.913983] DEADLOCK *** [ 2507.913988] May be due to missing lock nesting notation [ 2507.913992] 4 locks held by gem_exec_captur/1825: [ 2507.913997] #0: ffff888101f6e460 (sb_writers#17){..}-{0:0}, at: ksys_write+0xe9/0x1b0 [ 2507.914009] #1: ffff88812d99e2b8 (&attr->mutex){..}-{3:3}, at: simple_attr_write+0xbb/0x220 [ 2507.914019] #2: ffffffffb9df2500 (fs_reclaim){..}-{0:0}, at: i915_drop_caches_set+0x1c9/0x2c0 [i915] [ 2507.914085] #3: ffff8881b4a11b20 (reservation_ww_class_mutex){..}-{3:3}, at: ww_mutex_trylock+0x43f/0xcb0 [ 2507.914097] stack backtrace: [ 2507.914102] CPU: 0 PID: 1825 Comm: gem_exec_captur Tainted: G U 5.16.0-rc4+ #5 [ 2507.914109] Hardware name: ASUS System Product Name/PRIME B560M-A AC, BIOS 0403 01/26/2021 [ 2507.914115] Call Trace: [ 2507.914118] <TASK> [ 2507.914121] dump_stack_lvl+0x59/0x73 [ 2507.914128] __lock_acquire.cold+0x227/0x3b0 [ 2507.914135] ? lockdep_hardirqs_on_prepare+0x410/0x410 [ 2507.914141] ? __lock_acquire+0x23ca/0x5000 [ 2507.914147] lock_acquire+0x19c/0x4b0 [ 2507.914152] ? kmem_cache_alloc_trace+0x30/0x390 [ 2507.914157] ? lock_release+0x690/0x690 [ 2507.914163] ? lock_is_held_type+0xe4/0x140 [ 2507.914170] ? ttm_sys_man_alloc+0x47/0xb0 [ttm] [ 2507.914178] fs_reclaim_acquire+0x11a/0x160 [ 2507.914183] ? kmem_cache_alloc_trace+0x30/0x390 [ 2507.914188] kmem_cache_alloc_trace+0x30/0x390 [ 2507.914192] ? lock_release+0x37f/0x690 [ 2507.914198] ttm_sys_man_alloc+0x47/0xb0 [ttm] [ 2507.914206] ttm_bo_pipeline_gutting+0x70/0x440 [ttm] [ 2507.914214] ? ttm_mem_io_free+0x150/0x150 [ttm] [ 2507.914221] ? lock_is_held_type+0xe4/0x140 [ 2507.914227] ttm_bo_validate+0x2fb/0x370 [ttm] [ 2507.914234] ? lock_acquire+0x19c/0x4b0 [ 2507.914239] ? ttm_bo_bounce_temp_buffer.constprop.0+0xf0/0xf0 [ttm] [ 2507.914246] ? lock_acquire+0x131/0x4b0 [ 2507.914251] ? lock_is_held_type+0xe4/0x140 [ 2507.914257] i915_ttm_shrinker_release_pages+0x2bc/0x490 [i915] [ 2507.914339] ? i915_ttm_swap_notify+0x130/0x130 [i915] [ 2507.914429] ? i915_gem_object_release_mmap_offset+0x32/0x250 [i915] [ 2507.914529] i915_gem_shrink+0xb14/0x1290 [i915] [ 2507.914616] ? ___i915_gem_object_make_shrinkable+0x3e0/0x3e0 [i915] [ 2507.914698] ? _raw_spin_unlock_irqrestore+0x2d/0x60 [ 2507.914705] ? track_intel_runtime_pm_wakeref+0x180/0x230 [i915] [ 2507.914777] i915_gem_shrink_all+0x4b/0x70 [i915] [ 2507.914857] i915_drop_caches_set+0x227/0x2c0 [i915] Reported-by: Thomas Hellström <thomas.hellstrom@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Matthew Auld <matthew.auld@intel.com> Reviewed-by: Thomas Hellström <thomas.hellstrom@linux.intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20211213125530.3960007-1-matthew.auld@intel.com

2021-12-14ath11k: Fix a NULL pointer dereference in ath11k_mac_op_hw_scan()Zhou Qingyang
In ath11k_mac_op_hw_scan(), the return value of kzalloc() is directly used in memcpy(), which may lead to a NULL pointer dereference on failure of kzalloc(). Fix this bug by adding a check of arg.extraie.ptr. This bug was found by a static analyzer. The analysis employs differential checking to identify inconsistent security operations (e.g., checks or kfrees) between two code paths and confirms that the inconsistent operations are not recovered in the current function or the callers, so they constitute bugs. Note that, as a bug found by static analysis, it can be a false positive or hard to trigger. Multiple researchers have cross-reviewed the bug. Builds with CONFIG_ATH11K=m show no new warnings, and our static analyzer no longer warns about this code. The Si2157 (A30) is functional with the ROM firmware 3.0.5, but can also be patched at runtime, e.g. to firmware 3.1.3. However, although a firmware filename for its firmware patch exists, that has only been used for the Si2177 (A30) so far (which indeed takes the binary identical firmware patch). Add support for downloading firmware patches into the Si2157 (A30), but make it optional, so that initialization can succeed with and without a firmware patch being available. Keep the use of request_firmware() for this purpose rather than firmware_request_nowarn(), so that the warning in the log makes users aware that it is possible to provide a firmware for this tuner. The firmware patch is probably also optional for other (if not all) tuners supported by the driver, but since I do not have the others available to test, they are kept mandatory for now to avoid regressions. 2021-12-14ARM: tegra: Avoid pwm- prefix in pinmux nodesThierry Reding
The "pwm-" prefix currently matches the DT schema for PWM controllers and throws an error in that case. This is something that should be fixed in the PWM DT schema, but in this case we can also preempt any such conflict by naming the nodes after the pins like we do for many others of these nodes. 2021-12-14ARM: tegra: Sort Tegra124 XUSB clocks correctlyThierry Reding
Make the order of the clocks and clock-names properties match the order in the device tree bindings. This isn't strictly necessary from a point of view of the operating system because matching will be done based on the clock-names, but it makes it easier to validate the device trees against the DT schema. 2021-12-14ARM: tegra: Drop unused AHCI clocks on Tegra124Thierry Reding
The CML1 and PLL_E clocks are never explicitly used by the AHCI controller found on Tegra124, so drop them from the corresponding device tree node. Signed-off-by: Thierry Reding <treding@nvidia.com>
2021-12-14ARM: tegra: Fix Tegra124 I2C compatible string listThierry Reding
The I2C controller found on Tegra124 is not fully compatible with the Tegra114 version, so drop the fallback compatible string from the list. Signed-off-by: Thierry Reding <treding@nvidia.com>
2021-12-14ARM: tegra: Rename CPU and EMC OPP table device-tree nodesDmitry Osipenko

2021-12-14ARM: tegra: Rename thermal zone nodesThierry Reding
The DT schema requires that nodes representing thermal zones include a "-thermal" suffix in their name. Signed-off-by: Thierry Reding <treding@nvidia.com>
2021-12-14ARM: tegra: Drop reg-shift for Tegra HS UARTThierry Reding
When the Tegra High-Speed UART is used instead of the regular UART, the reg-shift property is implied from the compatible string and should not be explicitly listed. Signed-off-by: Thierry Reding <treding@nvidia.com>
2021-12-14ARM: tegra: Rename GPU node on Tegra124Thierry Reding
In order to be able to pass DT schema validation, change the GPU nodes' unit-address to the standard notation. Previously this was using a "0," prefix that originated from a time when the top-level device tree node contained #address-cells = <2>. Note that this technically breaks backwards-compatibility with certain older versions of the U-Boot bootloader because early versions used a hard-coded DT path lookup to find the GPU node and perform some fixups on it. However, this was changed to a compatible string based lookup in April 2016, so it's reasonable to expect people to update U-Boot on the systems that they want to use this updated kernel DTB with. 2021-12-14ARM: tegra: Rename GPIO hog nodes to match schemaThierry Reding
GPIO hog nodes must have a "hog-" prefix or "-hog" suffix according to the DT schema. Rename all such nodes to allow validation to pass. Signed-off-by: Thierry Reding <treding@nvidia.com>
