PS this time, we have a smaller number of patches. While it is hard
to pinpoint to the reasons, I believe that it is mainly due to:
1) there are several patch series ready, but depending on DT review.
I decided to grant some extra time for DT maintainers to look on
it, as they're expecting to have more time with the changes agreed
during ARM mini-summit and KS. If they can't review in time for
3.14, I'll review myself and apply for the next merge window.
2) I suspect that having both LinuxCon EU and LinuxCon NA happening
during the same merge window affected the development
productivity, as several core media developers participated on
both events"

Unlike other chips supported by this driver, the NCT6791 only has a single
set of registers to configure weighted fan control. Enable it only for the
single channel supporting it.

The number of SMIOVT registers on NCT6779 and NCT6791 is limited to 2.
As result, the driver may not report some of the temperatures used
for fan control. This can result in some of the pwmX_temp_sel or
pwm2_weight_temp_sel attributes to wrongly return 0.
Fortunately, the chip has registers to monitor those temperatures.
Add them to the list of temperatures to report.

Since kvmppc_hv_find_lock_hpte() is called from both virtmode and
realmode, so it can trigger the deadlock.
Suppose the following scene:
Two physical cpuM, cpuN, two VM instances A, B, each VM has a group of
vcpus.
If on cpuM, vcpu_A_1 holds bitlock X (HPTE_V_HVLOCK), then is switched
out, and on cpuN, vcpu_A_2 try to lock X in realmode, then cpuN will be
caught in realmode for a long time.
What makes things even worse if the following happens,
On cpuM, bitlockX is hold, on cpuN, Y is hold.
vcpu_B_2 try to lock Y on cpuM in realmode
vcpu_A_2 try to lock X on cpuN in realmode
Oops! deadlock happens

Some users have reported instances of the host hanging with secondary
threads of a core waiting for the primary thread to exit the guest,
and the primary thread stuck in nap mode. This prompted a review of
the memory barriers in the guest entry/exit code, and this is the
result. Most of these changes are the suggestions of Dean Burdick
<deanburdick@us.ibm.com>.
The barriers between updating napping_threads and reading the
entry_exit_count on the one hand, and updating entry_exit_count and
reading napping_threads on the other, need to be isync not lwsync,
since we need to ensure that either the napping_threads update or the
entry_exit_count update get seen. It is not sufficient to order the
load vs. lwarx, as lwsync does; we need to order the load vs. the
stwcx., so we need isync.
In addition, we need a full sync before sending IPIs to wake other
threads from nap, to ensure that the write to the entry_exit_count is
visible before the IPI occurs.

This fixes a bug in kvmppc_do_h_enter() where the physical address
for a page can be calculated incorrectly if transparent huge pages
(THP) are active. Until THP came along, it was true that if we
encountered a large (16M) page in kvmppc_do_h_enter(), then the
associated memslot must be 16M aligned for both its guest physical
address and the userspace address, and the physical address
calculations in kvmppc_do_h_enter() assumed that. With THP, that
is no longer true.
In the case where we are using MMU notifiers and the page size that
we get from the Linux page tables is larger than the page being mapped
by the guest, we need to fill in some low-order bits of the physical
address. Without THP, these bits would be the same in the guest
physical address (gpa) and the host virtual address (hva). With THP,
they can be different, and we need to use the bits from hva rather
than gpa.
In the case where we are not using MMU notifiers, the host physical
address we get from the memslot->arch.slot_phys[] array already
includes the low-order bits down to the PAGE_SIZE level, even if
we are using large pages. Thus we can simplify the calculation in
this case to just add in the remaining bits in the case where
PAGE_SIZE is 64k and the guest is mapping a 4k page.
The same bug exists in kvmppc_book3s_hv_page_fault(). The basic fix
is to use psize (the page size from the HPTE) rather than pte_size
(the page size from the Linux PTE) when updating the HPTE low word
in r. That means that pfn needs to be computed to PAGE_SIZE
granularity even if the Linux PTE is a huge page PTE. That can be
arranged simply by doing the page_to_pfn() before setting page to
the head of the compound page. If psize is less than PAGE_SIZE,
then we need to make sure we only update the bits from PAGE_SIZE
upwards, in order not to lose any sub-page offset bits in r.
On the other hand, if psize is greater than PAGE_SIZE, we need to
make sure we don't bring in non-zero low order bits in pfn, hence
we mask (pfn << PAGE_SHIFT) with ~(psize - 1).

Secondary unicast MAC addresses will get deleted only when the interface is UP.
When the interface is DOWN, though these secondary MAC addresses are unusable
and awaiting to be deleted, cause the firmware to believe that they are being used.
If the user intends to set a MAC address as primary MAC from one of these
secondary MAC addresses, the firmware returns a MAC address Collision error.
Delete these secondary MAC addresses during be_close.
The secondary MAC addresses list will be refreshed during interface open anyway.

The driver currently requests the firmware to enable rx_interface options
without considering if the interface was created with that capability.
This could cause commands to firmware to fail.
To avoid this, enable only those options on an interface if the interface
was created with that capability.

Current driver release rtnl lock in between DCB re-configuration.
As a result, other flows (e.g., mtu config) may enter in between and fail

During VF load, prior to sending messages on HW channel to PF the VF
checks its bulletin board to see whether the PF indicated it has closed;
If a closed PF is encountered, the VF skips sending the message.
Due to incorrect return values, there's a possible scenario in which the VF
finishes loading "successfully", while the PF hasn't actually fully configured
FW/HW for the VFs supposed configuration.
Once VF tries to send Tx packets, HW will raise an attention (and FW possibly
will start treat the VF as malicious).
The patch fails the loading process in such a scenario.

If chip enters a recovery flow just after the driver issues a DMAE request
the DMAE will timeout. Current code will cause a bnx2x_panic() as a result,
which means interface will no longer be usable (regardless of the recovery
results), as bnx2x_panic() is irreversible for the driver.
As this is a possible flow, the panic should be reached only when driver
is compiled with STOP_ON_ERROR.

There is no need to enable the watchdog device if it is already enabled.
Also, when enabling the watchdog device, only set the watchdog device
enable bit and do not touch other bits; depending on the chip type,
those bits may enable other functionality.

It is unnecessary to enable the logical device and WDT0 each time
the watchdog is accessed. Do it only once during initialization.

Only update *addr_len when we actually fill in sockaddr, otherwise we
can return uninitialized memory from the stack to the caller in the
recvfrom, recvmmsg and recvmsg syscalls. Drop the the (addr_len == NULL)
checks because we only get called with a valid addr_len pointer either
from sock_common_recvmsg or inet_recvmsg.
If a blocking read waits on a socket which is concurrently shut down we
now return zero and set msg_msgnamelen to 0.

The data type of max_sectors and max_hw_sectors in queue settings are
unsigned int. But these values are passed to __bio_add_page() as an
argument whose data type is unsigned short. In the worst case such as
max_sectors is 0x10000, bio_add_page() can't add a page and IOs can't
proceed.

Commit 26273e02a0cf (ARM: OMAP2+: Fix build for dra7xx without
omap4 and 5) attempted to fix randconfig found errors for
redefinition of omap44xx_prm_reconfigure_io_chain, but was
not enough.
We need to check for AM43XX without any omap4 or 5 related
SoCs as well. And looks like we have prm44xx.o built always
anyways with omap-4-5-prcm-common because of the calls to
omap4_prm_vp_clear_txdone, so we can remove the duplicate
entries in the Makefile.

There was a bug in xennet_alloc_rx_buffers, when allocating page or
sk_buff failed, and at the same time rx_batch queue not empty,
the rx_refill_timer timer won't be scheduled. If finally the remaining
request buffers in rx ring less than what backend driver expected,
the backend driver would think of rx ring as full and start dropping packets.
In such situation, there is no way for the netfront driver to recover
automatically, so that the device can not work properly.
The patch fixes the problem by always scheduling rx_refill_timer timer when
alloc_page or __netdev_alloc_skb fails, no matter whether rx_batch queue is
empty or not. It ensures that the rx ring request buffers will finally meet
the backend needs.

Use a straight goto error label style in nfsd_setattr to make sure
we always do the put_write_access call after we got it earlier.
Note that the we have been failing to do that in the case
nfsd_break_lease() returns an error, a bug introduced into 2.6.38 with
6a76bebefe15d9a08864f824d7f8d5beaf37c997 "nfsd4: break lease on nfsd
setattr".

The dm-delay target uses a shared workqueue for multiple instances. This
can cause deadlock if two or more dm-delay targets are stacked on the top
of each other.
This patch changes dm-delay to use a per-instance workqueue.

Michael L Semon reported that generic/069 runtime increased on v5
superblocks by 100% compared to v4 superblocks. his perf-based
analysis pointed directly at the timestamp updates being done by the
write path in this workload. The append writers are doing 4-byte
writes, so there are lots of timestamp updates occurring.
The thing is, they aren't being triggered by timestamp changes -
they are being triggered by the inode change counter needing to be
updated. That is, every write(2) system call needs to bump the inode
version count, and it does that through the timestamp update
mechanism. Hence for v5 filesystems, test generic/069 is running 3
orders of magnitude more timestmap update transactions on v5
filesystems due to the fact it does a huge number of *4 byte*
write(2) calls.
This isn't a real world scenario we really need to address - anyone
doing such sequential IO should be using fwrite(3), not write(2).
i.e. fwrite(3) buffers the writes in userspace to minimise the
number of write(2) syscalls, and the problem goes away.
However, there is a small change we can make to improve the
situation - removing the expensive lock operation on the change
counter update. All inode version counter changes in XFS occur
under the ip->i_ilock during a transaction, and therefore we
don't actually need the spin lock that provides exclusive access to
it through inc_inode_iversion().
Hence avoid the lock and just open code the increment ourselves when
logging the inode.

The mfn_to_pfn and pfn_to_mfn functions get inlined in these modules and
those functions require phys_to_mach. Export the symbol to fix the link
errors.

v5 filesystems use 512 byte inodes as a minimum, so read inodes in
clusters that are effectively half the size of a v4 filesystem with
256 byte inodes. For v5 fielsystems, scale the inode cluster size
with the size of the inode so that we keep a constant 32 inodes per
cluster ratio for all inode IO.
This only works if mkfs.xfs sets the inode alignment appropriately
for larger inode clusters, so this functionality is made conditional
on mkfs doing the right thing. xfs_repair needs to know about
the inode alignment changes, too.

So, wall time same or down across the board, system time same or
down across the board, and cache hit rates all improve except for
the ls -R case which is a pure cold cache directory read workload
on v5 filesystems...
So, this patch removes most of the performance and CPU usage
differential between v4 and v5 filesystems on traversal related
workloads.
Note: while this patch is currently for v5 filesystems only, there
is no reason it can't be ported back to v4 filesystems. This hasn't
been done here because bringing the code back to v4 requires
forwards and backwards kernel compatibility testing. i.e. to
deterine if older kernels(*) do the right thing with larger inode
alignments but still only using 8k inode cluster sizes. None of this
testing and validation on v4 filesystems has been done, so for the
moment larger inode clusters is limited to v5 superblocks.
(*) a current default config v4 filesystem should mount just fine on
2.6.23 (when lazy-count support was introduced), and so if we change
the alignment emitted by mkfs without a feature bit then we have to
make sure it works properly on all kernels since 2.6.23. And if we
allow it to be changed when the lazy-count bit is not set, then it's
all kernels since v2 logs were introduced that need to be tested for
compatibility...

xfs_trans_ijoin() activates the inode in a transaction and
also can specify which lock to free when the transaction is
committed or canceled.
xfs_bmap_add_attrfork call locks and adds the lock to the
transaction but also manually removes the lock. Change the
routine to not add the lock to the transaction and manually
remove lock on completion.
While here, clean up the xfs_trans_cancel flags and goto names.

nf_conntrack_free() decrements our counter (net->ct.count)
before releasing the conntrack object. That counter is used in the
nf_conntrack_cleanup_net_list path to check if it's time to
kmem_cache_destroy our cache of conntrack objects. I think we have
a race there that should be easier to trigger (although still hard)
with CONFIG_DEBUG_OBJECTS_FREE as object releases become slowier
