2010-02-11edac: mpc85xx fix bad page calculationPeter Tyser
Commit b4846251727a38a7f248e41308c060995371dd05 ("edac: mpc85xx add mpc83xx support") accidentally broke how a chip select's first and last page addresses are calculated. The page addresses are being shifted too far right by PAGE_SHIFT. This results in errors such as: EDAC MPC85xx MC1: Err addr: 0x003075c0 EDAC MPC85xx MC1: PFN: 0x00000307 EDAC MPC85xx MC1: PFN out of range! EDAC MC1: INTERNAL ERROR: row out of range (4 >= 4) EDAC MC1: CE - no information available: INTERNAL ERROR The vaule of PAGE_SHIFT is already being taken into consideration during the calculation of the 'start' and 'end' variables, thus it is not necessary to account for it again when setting a chip select's first and last page address. 2010-02-11mmc_test: block addressed cardsJohan Kristell
This patch fixes a bug in the multiblock write tests where the written data is read back for verifying one block at a time. The tests in mmc_test assumes that all cards are byte addressable. This will cause the multi block write tests to fail, leading the user of the mmc_test driver thinking there is something wrong with the sdhci driver they are testing. The start address for the block is calculated as: blocknum * 512. For block addressable cards the blocknum alone should be used. 2010-02-11tpm_infineon: fix suspend/resume handler for pnp_driverMarcel Selhorst
When suspending, tpm_infineon calls the generic suspend function of the TPM framework. However, the TPM framework does not return and the system hangs upon suspend. 2010-02-11iwlwifi: Monitor and recover the aggregation TX flow failureTrieu 'Andrew' Nguyen
This change monitors the tx statistics to detect the drop in throughput. When the throughput drops, the ratio of the actual_ack_count and the expected_ ack_count also drops. At the same time, the aggregated ba_timeout (the number of ba timeout retries) also rises. If the actual_ack_count/expected_ack_count ratio is 0 and the number of ba timeout retries rises to 16, no tx packets (tcp, udp, or ping - icmp) can be delivered. The driver recovers from this situation by reseting the uCode firmware. If the actual_ack_count/expected_ ack_count ratio drops below 50% (but not 0) and the aggregated ba_timeout retries just exceed 5 (but not 16), then the driver can reset the radio to bring the throughput up. While testing the station with the NIC 1000 family, it is found that the plcp error can easily exceed 50 value in 100mSecs. This creates unneccessary radio reset/tuning. This patch raises the PLCP error threshold of the NIC 1000 from 50 to 200 error count. 2010-02-11iwlwifi: reset card during probeReinette Chatre
To ensure that card is in a sane state during probe we add a reset call. This change was prompted by users of kdump who was not able to bring up the wireless driver in the kdump kernel. The problem here was that the primary kernel, which is not running at the time, left the wireless card up and running. When the kdump kernel starts it is thus possible to immediately receive interrupts from firmware after registering interrupt, but without being ready to deal with interrupts from firmware yet. 2010-02-11iwlwifi: fix scan raceReinette Chatre
There is a problem if an "internal short scan" is in progress when a mac80211 requested scan arrives. If this new scan request arrives within the "next_scan_jiffies" period then driver will immediately return success and complete the scan. The problem here is that the scan has not been fully initialized at this time (is_internal_short_scan is still set to true because of the currently running scan), which results in the scan completion never to be sent to mac80211. At this time also, evan though the internal short scan is still running the state (is_internal_short_scan) will be set to false, so when the internal scan does complete then mac80211 will receive a scan completion. 2010-02-11vgaarb: fix incorrect dereference of userspace pointer.Andy Getzendanner
This patch corrects a userspace pointer dereference in the VGA arbiter in 2.6.32.1. copy_from_user() is used at line 822 to copy the contents of buf into kbuf, but a call to strncmp() on line 964 uses buf rather than kbuf. This problem led to a GPF in strncmp() when X was started on my x86_32 systems. X triggered the behavior with a write of "target PCI:0000:01:00.0" to /dev/vga_arbiter. The patch has been tested against 2.6.32.1 and observed to correct the GPF observed when starting X or manually writing the string "target PCI:0000:01:00.0" to /dev/vga_arbiter. 2010-02-10tcp: fix ICMP-RTO warDamian Lukowski
Make sure, that TCP has a nonzero RTT estimation after three-way handshake. Currently, a listening TCP has a value of 0 for srtt, rttvar and rto right after the three-way handshake is completed with TCP timestamps disabled. This will lead to corrupt RTO recalculation and retransmission flood when RTO is recalculated on backoff reversion as introduced in "Revert RTO on ICMP destination unreachable" (f1ecd5d9e7366609d640ff4040304ea197fbc618). This behaviour can be provoked by connecting to a server which "responds first" (like SMTP) and rejecting every packet after the handshake with dest-unreachable, which will lead to softirq load on the server (up to 30% per socket in some tests).
