2014-07-30[media] soc_camera: add support for dt binding soc_camera driversBen Dooks
Add initial support for OF based soc-camera devices that may be used by any of the soc-camera drivers. The driver itself will need converting to use OF. These changes allow the soc-camera driver to do the connecting of any async capable v4l2 device to the soc-camera driver. This has currently been tested on the Renesas Lager board. It currently only supports one input device per driver as this seems to be the standard connection for these devices. 2014-07-30ip_tunnel(ipv4): fix tunnels with "local any remote $remote_ip"Dmitry Popov
Ipv4 tunnels created with "local any remote $ip" didn't work properly since 7d442fab0 (ipv4: Cache dst in tunnels). 99% of packets sent via those tunnels had src addr = 0.0.0.0. That was because only dst_entry was cached, although fl4.saddr has to be cached too. Every time ip_tunnel_xmit used cached dst_entry (tunnel_rtable_get returned non-NULL), fl4.saddr was initialized with tnl_params->saddr (= 0 in our case), and wasn't changed until iptunnel_xmit(). This patch adds saddr to ip_tunnel->dst_cache, fixing this issue. Reported-by: Sergey Popov <pinkbyte@gentoo.org> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Popov <ixaphire@qrator.net> Signed-off-by: David S. 2014-07-30mlx5: Adjust events to use unsigned long param instead of void *Jack Morgenstein
In the event flow, we currently pass only a port number in the void *data argument. Rather than pass a pointer to the event handlers, we should use an "unsigned long" parameter, and pass the port number value directly. In the future, if necessary for some events, we can use the unsigned long parameter to pass a pointer. 2014-07-30mlx5: Move pci device handling from mlx5_ib to mlx5_coreJack Morgenstein
In preparation for a new mlx5 device which is VPI (i.e., ports can be either IB or ETH), move the pci device functionality from mlx5_ib to mlx5_core. This involves the following changes: 1. Move mlx5_core_dev struct out of mlx5_ib_dev. mlx5_core_dev is now an independent structure maintained by mlx5_core. mlx5_ib_dev now has a pointer to that struct. This requires changing a lot of places where the core_dev struct was accessed via mlx5_ib_dev (now, this needs to be a pointer dereference). 2. All PCI initializations are now done in mlx5_core. Thus, it is now mlx5_core which does pci_register_device (and not mlx5_ib, as was previously). 3. mlx5_ib now registers itself with mlx5_core as an "interface" driver. This is very similar to the mechanism employed for the mlx4 (ConnectX) driver. Once the HCA is initialized (by mlx5_core), it invokes the interface drivers to do their initializations. 4. There is a new event handler which the core registers: mlx5_core_event(). This event handler invokes the event handlers registered by the interfaces. 2014-07-30random32: mix in entropy from core to late initcallHannes Frederic Sowa
Currently, we have a 3-stage seeding process in prandom(): Phase 1 is from the early actual initialization of prandom() subsystem which happens during core_initcall() and remains most likely until the beginning of late_initcall() phase. Here, the system might not have enough entropy available for seeding with strong randomness from the random driver. That means, we currently have a 32bit weak LCG() seeding the PRNG status register 1 and mixing that successively into the other 3 registers just to get it up and running. Phase 2 starts with late_initcall() phase resp. when the random driver has initialized its non-blocking pool with enough entropy. At that time, we throw away *all* inner state from its 4 registers and do a full reseed with strong randomness. Phase 3 starts right after that and does a periodic reseed with random slack of status register 1 by a strong random source again. A problem in phase 1 is that during bootup data structures can be initialized, e.g. on module load time, and thus access a weakly seeded prandom and are never changed for the rest of their live-time, thus carrying along the results from a week seed. Lets make sure that current but also future users access a possibly better early seeded prandom. This patch therefore improves phase 1 by trying to make it more 'unpredictable' through mixing in seed from a possible hardware source. Now, the mix-in xors inner state with the outcome of either of the two functions arch_get_random_{,seed}_int(), preferably arch_get_random_seed_int() as it likely represents a non-deterministic random bit generator in hw rather than a cryptographically secure PRNG in hw. However, not all might have the first one, so we use the PRNG as a fallback if available. As we xor the seed into the current state, the worst case would be that a hardware source could be unverifiable compromised or backdoored. In that case nevertheless it would be as good as our original early seeding function prandom_seed_very_weak() since we mix through xor which is entropy preserving. Joint work with Daniel Borkmann. 2014-07-30ARM: nomadik: fix up double inversion in DTLinus Walleij
The GPIO pin connected to card detect was inverted twice: once by the argument to the GPIO line itself where it was magically marked as active low by the flag GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW (0x01) in the third cell, and also marked active low AGAIN by explicitly stating "cd-inverted" (a deprecated method). After commit 78f87df2b4f8760954d7d80603d0cfcbd4759683 "mmc: mmci: Use the common mmc DT parser" this results in the line being inverted twice so it was effectively uninverted, while the old code would not have this effect, instead disregarding the flag on the GPIO line altogether, which is a bug. I admit the semantics may be unclear but inverting twice is as good a definition as any on how this should work. So fix up the buggy device tree. This introduce a new way of defining SATA ports in the device tree, with one port per sub-node. This as the advantage of allowing a per port configuration. 2014-07-30[media] rc-main: allow raw protocol drivers to restrict the allowed protosMauro Carvalho Chehab
On some hardware (au0828/au8522), the hardware is broken with regards to the initial pulse detection. So, the driver needs to produce a fake start pulse. That limits the acceptable protocols, as it is not possible to produce a fake pulse that would cover all supported protocols. So, allow the driver to explicitly set the allowed protocols. 2014-07-30[media] au0828: improve I2C speedMauro Carvalho Chehab
Commits 21dc61d3c0a4 and 7a1dd50b89d4 reduced the board I2C speed to 20 MHz by default, due to a I2C stretch issue: while xc5000 uses i2c stretch when a command is sent to it, au0828 doesn't support this feature. However, this is needed only for Xceive tuners. The other I2C devices can work at the max speed. So, revert the workarounds at board level, handling it at I2C level, only when talking with xc5000. 2014-07-30KVM: x86: always exit on EOIs for interrupts listed in the IOAPIC redir tablePaolo Bonzini
Currently, the EOI exit bitmap (used for APICv) does not include interrupts that are masked. However, this can cause a bug that manifests as an interrupt storm inside the guest. Alex Williamson reported the bug and is the one who really debugged this; I only wrote the patch. :) The scenario involves a multi-function PCI device with OHCI and EHCI USB functions and an audio function, all assigned to the guest, where both USB functions use legacy INTx interrupts. As soon as the guest boots, interrupts for these devices turn into an interrupt storm in the guest; the host does not see the interrupt storm. Basically the EOI path does not work, and the guest continues to see the interrupt over and over, even after it attempts to mask it at the APIC. The bug is only visible with older kernels (RHEL6.5, based on 2.6.32 with not many changes in the area of APIC/IOAPIC handling). Alex then tried forcing bit 59 (corresponding to the USB functions' IRQ) on in the eoi_exit_bitmap and TMR, and things then work. What happens is that VFIO asserts IRQ11, then KVM recomputes the EOI exit bitmap. It does not have set bit 59 because the RTE was masked, so the IOAPIC never sees the EOI and the interrupt continues to fire in the guest. My guess was that the guest is masking the interrupt in the redirection table in the interrupt routine, i.e. while the interrupt is set in a LAPIC's ISR, The simplest fix is to ignore the masking state, we would rather have an unnecessary exit rather than a missed IRQ ACK and anyway IOAPIC interrupts are not as performance-sensitive as for example MSIs. Alex tested this patch and it fixed his bug. [Thanks to Alex for his precise description of the problem and initial debugging effort. 2014-07-30Merge tag 'please-pull-apei' into x86/rasH. Peter Anvin
APEI is currently implemented so that it depends on x86 hardware. The primary dependency is that GHES uses the x86 NMI for hardware error notification and MCE for memory error handling. These patches remove that dependency. Other APEI features such as error reporting via external IRQ, error serialization, or error injection, do not require changes to use them on non-x86 architectures. The following patch set eliminates the APEI Kconfig x86 dependency by making these changes: - treat NMI notification as GHES architecture - HAVE_ACPI_APEI_NMI - group and wrap around #ifdef CONFIG_HAVE_ACPI_APEI_NMI code which is used only for NMI path - identify architectural boxes and abstract it accordingly (tlb flush and MCE) - rework ioremap for both IRQ and NMI context NMI code is kept in ghes.c file since NMI and IRQ context are tightly coupled. Note, these patches introduce no functional changes for x86. The NMI notification feature is hard selected for x86. Architectures that want to use this feature should also provide NMI code infrastructure.
