The current implementation of cfg80211_rx_control_port assumed that the
caller could provide a contiguous region of memory for the control port
frame to be sent up to userspace. Unfortunately, many drivers produce
non-linear skbs, especially for data frames. This resulted in userspace
getting notified of control port frames with correct metadata (from
address, port, etc) yet garbage / nonsense contents, resulting in bad
handshakes, disconnections, etc.
mac80211 linearizes skbs containing management frames. But it didn't
seem worthwhile to do this for control port frames. Thus the signature
of cfg80211_rx_control_port was changed to take the skb directly.
nl80211 then takes care of obtaining control port frame data directly
from the (linear | non-linear) skb.
The caller is still responsible for freeing the skb,
cfg80211_rx_control_port does not take ownership of it.

This patch fixes a silent out-of-bound read possibility that was present
because of the misuse of this function.
Mostly it was called with a struct udphdr *hp which had only the udphdr
part linearized by the skb_header_pointer, however
nf_tproxy_get_sock_v{4,6} uses it as a tcphdr pointer, so some reads for
tcp specific attributes may be invalid.

We have two new lenovo desktop models which need to apply the fixup of
ALC294_FIXUP_LENOVO_MIC_LOCATION, and they have the same pin cfg as
the machine with subsystem id:0x17aa3136, now use the pincfg table
to apply the fixup for them.

The IPI hypercalls depend on being able to map the Linux notion of CPU ID
to the hypervisor's notion of the CPU ID. The array hv_vp_index[] provides
this mapping. Code for populating this array depends on the IPI functionality.
Break this circular dependency.

context, completely unfulfilling our purpose of doing so. As this

We test the GPU handling of huge pages by submitting requests that write
into a huge page, but if the GPU is irrecoverably wedged we cannot
submit any requests. As the test expectedly fails, skip over it.

If the GPU is irrecoverably broken, we can not use it to dirty memory
and check for cache coherency with the CPU. All we can do is simply skip
over the GPU subtests and focus on the CPU domains (WC, WB) cache
management.

As we keep VMA around until the object is destroyed, when testing
partial tiling we instantiate many, many VMA (as the object is huge
allowing for many different partial regions). We test elsewhere our
handling of populating large objects with a full set of VMA and checking
we can retrieve them afterwards, but in this test we incur the cost of
flushing all VMA after every GTT write, dramatically slowing down the
test.

Having found the error causing the IGT test to fail, downgrade the
verbose logging so that we stop flooding the syslogs as we deliberately
provoke it many thousands of time during selftests.

This register used to power down individual lanes for
DDI/DSI ports. Bitfields to power up/down various

Escape Clock is used for LP communication across the DSI
Link. To achieve the constant frequency of the escape clock
from the variable DPLL frequency output, a variable divider(M)
is needed. This patch programs the same.

Avoid confusion with the functions to be added for the new ICL or gen 11
DSI implementation by renaming the current DSI functions. While at it,
permutate the words in the function names to make them all start with
"vlv_dsi" or "vlv_dsi_pll" etc.
Reduce the platform abstractions in the PLL file while at it, moving the
checks to vlv_dsi.c instead, where we typically already have the
necessary if ladders.
Leave the static functions as-is for now; they could be renamed later if
needed.
No functional changes.

Starting from ICL or gen 11 we have a new DSI block which requires
completely different programming from the current implementation. Having
them in the same file would be confusing. Rename the current DSI and DSI
PLL implementation files as vlv_dsi.c and vlv_dsi_pll.c.
No functional changes.

If the GPU is irrecoverably wedged on startup, it means that it failed
on initialisation and we have already tried to reset it but failed. We
can ignore all further testing, as it is already dead. Failing early,
prevents us from slowly failing in our endeavours later and timing out.

The low and high values of the net.ipv4.ping_group_range sysctl were
being silently forced to the default disabled state when a write to the
sysctl contained GIDs that didn't map to the associated user namespace.
Confusingly, the sysctl's write operation would return success and then
a subsequent read of the sysctl would indicate that the low and high
values are the overflowgid.
This patch changes the behavior by clearly returning an error when the
sysctl write operation receives a GID range that doesn't map to the
associated user namespace. In such a situation, the previous value of
the sysctl is preserved and that range will be returned in a subsequent
read of the sysctl.

The notification of scrub completion happens within the scrub workqueue.
That can clearly race someone running scrub_show() and work_busy()
before the workqueue has a chance to flush the recently completed work.
Add a flag to reliably indicate the idle vs busy state. Without this
change applications using poll(2) to wait for scrub-completion may
falsely wakeup and read ARS as being busy even though the thread is
going idle and then hang indefinitely.

Setting up macvlan/macvtap networks over atlantic NIC results
in no traffic over these networks because ndo_set_rx_mode did
not listed UC MACs as registered in unicast filter.
Here we fix that taking into account maximum number of UC
filters supported by hardware. If more than MAX addresses were
registered, we just enable promisc and/or allmulti to pass
the traffic in.
We also remove MULTICAST_ADDRESS_MAX constant from aq_cfg since
thats not a configurable parameter at all.

schedule_timeout_* takes a timeout in jiffies but the code currently is
passing in a constant which makes this timeout HZ dependent. So define
a constant with (hopefully) meaningful name and pass it through
msecs_to_jiffies() to fix the HZ dependency.

A patchset worked out together with Peter Zijlstra. Ingo is OK with taking
it through the DRM tree:
This is a small fallout from a work to allow batching WW mutex locks and
unlocks.
Our Wound-Wait mutexes actually don't use the Wound-Wait algorithm but
the Wait-Die algorithm. One could perhaps rename those mutexes tree-wide to
"Wait-Die mutexes" or "Deadlock Avoidance mutexes". Another approach suggested
here is to implement also the "Wound-Wait" algorithm as a per-WW-class
choice, as it has advantages in some cases. See for example

Now Wound-Wait is a preemptive algorithm, and the preemption is implemented
using a lazy scheme: If a wounded transaction is about to go to sleep on
a contended WW mutex, we return -EDEADLK. That is sufficient for deadlock
prevention. Since with WW mutexes we also require the aborted transaction to
sleep waiting to lock the WW mutex it was aborted on, this choice also provides
a suitable WW mutex to sleep on. If we were to return -EDEADLK on the first
WW mutex lock after the transaction was wounded whether the WW mutex was
contended or not, the transaction might frequently be restarted without a wait,
which is far from optimal. Note also that with the lazy preemption scheme,
contrary to Wait-Die there will be no rollbacks on lock contention of locks
held by a transaction that has completed its locking sequence.
The modeset locks are then changed from Wait-Die to Wound-Wait since the
typical locking pattern of those locks very well matches the criterion for
a substantial reduction in the number of rollbacks. For reservation objects,
the benefit is more unclear at this point and they remain using Wait-Die.

We currently attempt to check whether a physical address range provided
to __ioremap() may be in use by the page allocator by examining the
value of PageReserved for each page in the region - lowmem pages not
marked reserved are presumed to be in use by the page allocator, and
requests to ioremap them fail.
The way we check this has been broken since commit 92923ca3aace ("mm:
meminit: only set page reserved in the memblock region"), because
memblock will typically not have any knowledge of non-RAM pages and
therefore those pages will not have the PageReserved flag set. Thus when
we attempt to ioremap a region outside of RAM we incorrectly fail
believing that the region is RAM that may be in use.
In most cases ioremap() on MIPS will take a fast-path to use the
unmapped kseg1 or xkphys virtual address spaces and never hit this path,
so the only way to hit it is for a MIPS32 system to attempt to ioremap()
an address range in lowmem with flags other than _CACHE_UNCACHED.
Perhaps the most straightforward way to do this is using
ioremap_uncached_accelerated(), which is how the problem was discovered.
Fix this by making use of walk_system_ram_range() to test the address
range provided to __ioremap() against only RAM pages, rather than all
lowmem pages. This means that if we have a lowmem I/O region, which is
very common for MIPS systems, we're free to ioremap() address ranges
within it. A nice bonus is that the test is no longer limited to lowmem.
The approach here matches the way x86 performed the same test after
commit c81c8a1eeede ("x86, ioremap: Speed up check for RAM pages") until
x86 moved towards a slightly more complicated check using walk_mem_res()
for unrelated reasons with commit 0e4c12b45aa8 ("x86/mm, resource: Use
PAGE_KERNEL protection for ioremap of memory pages").

HDMI EDID's VSDB contains spectial timings for specifically
YCbCr 4:2:0 colour space. In those cases we need to verify
if the mode provided is one of the special ones has to use
YCbCr 4:2:0 pixel encoding for display info.

Verify if the mode is using specific ycbcr420 colour space with
the help of DRM helper function and assign the mode to use
ycbcr420 pixel encoding.
