The attribute country_code and alpha2 are two different attributes in the sprom. country_code contains some code in an 8 bit coding and alpha2 contains two chars with the country code. The attributes where read out wrongly in the past and country_code is only available on sprom version 1. 2012-05-16ssb: remove rev from boardinfoHauke Mehrtens
Previously the rev contained the revision read from the pci config space and was used as board_rev in the wireless drivers. This is wrong the board_rev is only fetched from the sprom accordingly to the open source part of the Broadcom SDK and brcmsmac. This patch removes the rev from the boardinfo structure and uses the board_rev attribute from sprom instead. This attribute is filled by PCI, PCMCIA, SDIO and SoC code. The commit 55261f46702c ("perf evlist: Fix creation of cpu map") changed to create a per-task event when no cpu target is specified. However it caused a problem since perf-task do not allow event inheritance due to scalability issues so that the result will contain samples only from parent, not from its children. So we should use perf-task-per-cpu events anyway to get the right result. Revert it. 2012-05-16perf target: Rename functions to avoid double negationNamhyung Kim
Rename perf_target__no_{cpu,task} to perf_target__has_{cpu,task} because it's more intuitive and easy to parse (for human beings) when used with negation. The names are came out from David Ahern. It is intended to be a mechanical substitution without any functional change. The perf_target__none remains unchanged since I couldn't find a right name and it is hardly used with negation. 2012-05-16ramoops: Move to fs/pstore/ram.cAnton Vorontsov
Since ramoops was converted to pstore, it has nothing to do with character devices nowadays. Instead, today it is just a RAM backend for pstore. The patch just moves things around. There are a few changes were needed because of the move: 1. Kconfig and Makefiles fixups, of course. 2. In pstore/ram.c we have to play a bit with MODULE_PARAM_PREFIX, this is needed to keep user experience the same as with ramoops driver (i.e. so that ramoops.foo kernel command line arguments would still work). 2012-05-16ramoops: use pstore interfaceKees Cook
Instead of using /dev/mem directly and forcing userspace to know (or extract) where the platform has defined persistent memory, how many slots it has, the sizes, etc, use the common pstore infrastructure to handle Oops gathering and extraction. This presents a much easier to use filesystem-based view to the memory region. This also means that any other tools that are written to understand pstore will automatically be able to process ramoops too. 2012-05-16staging: android: persistent_ram: Prepare for modular buildsAnton Vorontsov
This is a transition patch to keep things bisectable, just moves some routines under '#ifndef MODULE'. The code inside the #ifndef will go away soon, but so far we must support pstore and ram_console. So, we are about to use persistent_ram with pstore, with the ability to compile persistent_ram routines as modules. Some parts of persistent_ram uses memblock_reserve() routine, which is should be only used built-in code, and thus it is not exported. These persistent_ram bits are only used by Android's ram_console, which is always built-in. Without this patch, we won't able to compile persistent_ram as a module: ERROR: "memblock_reserve" [fs/pstore/ramoops.ko] undefined! make[1]: *** [__modpost] Error 1 make: *** [modules] Error 2 (As alternative, we could export memblock_reserve, but the thing is: we won't need it later.) 2012-05-16KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: Fix bug leading to deadlock in guest HPT updatesPaul Mackerras
When handling the H_BULK_REMOVE hypercall, we were forgetting to invalidate and unlock the hashed page table entry (HPTE) in the case where the page had been paged out. This fixes it by clearing the first doubleword of the HPTE in that case. This fixes a regression introduced in commit a92bce95f0 ("KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: Keep HPTE locked when invalidating"). When jumping back into the kernel to code that knows that it would be using HSRR registers instead of SRR registers, we need to make sure we pass it all information on where to jump to in HSRR registers. Unfortunately, we used r10 to store the information to distinguish between the HSRR and SRR case. That register got clobbered in between though, rendering the later comparison invalid. Instead, let's use cr1 to store this information. That way we don't need yet another register and everyone's happy. This fixes PR KVM on POWER7 bare metal for me. When running on a system that is HV capable, some interrupts use HSRR SPRs instead of the normal SRR SPRs. These are also used in the Linux handlers to jump back to code after an interrupt got processed. Unfortunately, in our "jump back to the real host handler after we've done the context switch" code, we were only setting the SRR SPRs, rendering Linux to jump back to some invalid IP after it's processed the interrupt. Handle that one the same way as a privileged instruction, including the instruction fetching.
