The module prints a warning when the MTU on the hard interface is too small to transfer payload traffic without fragmentation. The required MTU is calculated based on the encapsulation header size. If network coding is compild into the module its header size is taken into account as well. 2013-10-12batman-adv: create common header for ICMP packetsAntonio Quartulli
the icmp and the icmp_rr packets share the same initial fields since they use the same code to be processed and forwarded. Extract the common fields and put them into a separate struct so that future ICMP packets can be easily added without bloating the packet definition. However, keep the seqno field outside of the newly created common header because future ICMP types may require a bigger sequence number space. The put_unaligned() for setting the PSM is missing the (__le16 *) cast. Without this, the PSM information transmitted over the air are bogus. When comparing a network ordered value with a constant, it is better to convert the constant at compile time by means of htons() instead of converting the value at runtime using ntohs(). This refactoring may slightly improve the code performance. In case of a VLAN tagged frame the ethhdr pointer is moved forward by 4 bytes so that the offset of h_proto in struct ethhdr matches the real h_vlan_encapsulated_proto address in the skb. While this trickery is correct it makes the code harder to understand and may lead to bugs in case of re-use of ethhdr for other purposes. 2013-10-12ARC: Ignore ptrace SETREGSET request for synthetic register "stop_pc"Vineet Gupta
ARCompact TRAP_S insn used for breakpoints, commits before exception is taken (updating architectural PC). So ptregs->ret contains next-PC and not the breakpoint PC itself. This is different from other restartable exceptions such as TLB Miss where ptregs->ret has exact faulting PC. gdb needs to know exact-PC hence ARC ptrace GETREGSET provides for @stop_pc which returns ptregs->ret vs. EFA depending on the situation. However, writing stop_pc (SETREGSET request), which updates ptregs->ret doesn't makes sense stop_pc doesn't always correspond to that reg as described above. This was not an issue so far since user_regs->ret / user_regs->stop_pc had same value and both writing to ptregs->ret was OK, needless, but NOT broken, hence not observed. With gdb "jump", they diverge, and user_regs->ret updating ptregs is overwritten immediately with stop_pc, which this patch fixes. SMC_outw invokes an endian-aware I/O accessor, which may change the data endianness before writing to the device. This is not suitable for data transfers where the memory buffer is simply a string of bytes that does not require any byte-swapping. This patches fixes the smc91x SMC_PUSH_DATA macro so that it uses the string I/O accessor for outputting the leading or trailing halfwords on halfword-aligned buffers. The ip6_tnl.hlen (gre and ipv6 headers length) is independent from the outgoing interface, so it would be better to initialize it even when no route is found, otherwise its value will be zero. While I'm not sure if this could happen in real life, but doing that will avoid to call the skb_push function with a zero in ip6gre_header function. Nguyen Hong Ky posted a patch to correct RX packet errors on R8A7740 which was applied as 2c6221e4a5aab417 ("net: sh_eth: Fix RX packets errors on R8A7740"). Unfortunately sh_eth.c contains many similar instances of struct sh_eth_cpu_data and the patch was miss-applied, updating sh7734_data instead of r8a7740_data. This patch corrects this problem by. 1. 2013-10-11vti: get rid of nf mark rule in preroutingChristophe Gouault
This patch fixes and improves the use of vti interfaces (while lightly changing the way of configuring them). Currently: - it is necessary to identify and mark inbound IPsec packets destined to each vti interface, via netfilter rules in the mangle table at prerouting hook. - the vti module cannot retrieve the right tunnel in input since commit b9959fd3: vti tunnels all have an i_key, but the tunnel lookup is done with flag TUNNEL_NO_KEY, so there no chance to retrieve them. - the i_key is used by the outbound processing as a mark to lookup for the right SP and SA bundle. This patch uses the o_key to store the vti mark (instead of i_key) and enables: - to avoid the need for previously marking the inbound skbuffs via a netfilter rule. - to properly retrieve the right tunnel in input, only based on the IPsec packet outer addresses. - to properly perform an inbound policy check (using the tunnel o_key as a mark). - to properly perform an outbound SPD and SAD lookup (using the tunnel o_key as a mark). - to keep the current mark of the skbuff. The skbuff mark is neither used nor changed by the vti interface. Only the vti interface o_key is used. SAs have a wildcard mark. SPs have a mark equal to the vti interface o_key. 2013-10-11Bluetooth: Fix endless loop with HCI_QUIRK_RESET_ON_CLOSEMarcel Holtmann
Really early versions of the Bluetooth specification were unclear with the behavior of HCI Reset for USB devices. They assumed that also an USB reset needs to be issued. Later Bluetooth specifications cleared this out and it is safe to call HCI Reset without affecting the transport. For old devices that misbehave, the HCI_QUIRK_RESET_ON_CLOSE quirk was introduced to postpone the HCI Reset until the device was no longer in use. One of these devices is the Digianswer BPA-105 Bluetooth Protocol Analyzer. The only problem now is that with the quirk set, the HCI Reset is also executed at the end of the setup phase. So the controller gets configured and then it disconnects from the USB bus, connects again, gets configured and of course disconnects again. This game goes on forever. For devices that need HCI_QUIRK_RESET_ON_CLOSE it is important that the HCI Reset is not executed after the setup phase. 2013-10-11VFIO: vfio_iommu_type1: fix bug caused by break in nested loopAntonios Motakis
In vfio_iommu_type1.c there is a bug in vfio_dma_do_map, when checking that pages are not already mapped. Since the check is being done in a for loop nested within the main loop, breaking out of it does not create the intended behavior. If the underlying IOMMU driver returns a non-NULL value, this will be ignored and mapping the DMA range will be attempted anyway, leading to unpredictable behavior. This interracts badly with the ARM SMMU driver issue fixed in the patch that was submitted with the title: "[PATCH 2/2] ARM: SMMU: return NULL on error in arm_smmu_iova_to_phys" Both fixes are required in order to use the vfio_iommu_type1 driver with an ARM SMMU. This patch refactors the function slightly, in order to also make this kind of bug less likely. 2013-10-11Bluetooth: Add management command for setting LE scan parametersMarcel Holtmann
The scan interval and window parameters are used for LE passive background scanning and connection establishment. This allows userspace to change the values. These two values should be kept in sync with whatever is used for the scan parameters service on remote devices. And it puts the controlling daemon (for example bluetoothd) in charge of setting the values. Main use case would be to switch between two sets of values. One for foreground applications and one for background applications. At this moment, the values are only used for manual connection establishment, but soon that should be extended to background scanning and automatic connection establishment. The scan interval and window for LE passive scanning and connection establishment should be configurable on a per controller basis. So introduce a setting that later on will allow modifying it. This setting does not affect LE active scanning during device discovery phase. As long as that phase uses interleaved discovery, it will continuously scan.
