Drivers need the station rate info when inserting a new sta_info. The patch "mac80211: refactor mesh peer initialization" wrongly assumed the rate info could be applied after insertion. After further review, this is clearly not the case. This fixes a regression where HT parameters were not applied before inserting the sta_info, causing performance degradation. 2012-05-08wireless: at76c50x: allocating too much dataDan Carpenter
This is a cut and paste mistake, sizeof(struct mib_local) was intended instead of sizeof(struct mib_phy). The call to at76_get_mib() uses sizeof(struct mib_local) correctly, although I changed that to sizeof(*m) for style reasons after discussion with some of the wireless maintainers. 2012-05-08iwlwifi: add option to disable 5GHz bandStanislaw Gruszka
There are various problems happened on 5GHz band not observed on 2.4 GHz (microcode errors, queue stuck, etc... ) . Also roaming between 5GHz AP and 2GHz does not work very well. To workaround the problems add option to disable 5GHz support. This will help on environments where APs are dual-band, and devices will not try to associate on band where issues happen. We had a case where we could turn on hard interrupts while leaving the PACA_IRQ_HARD_DIS bit set in the PACA. This can in turn cause a BUG_ON() to hit in __check_irq_replay() due to interrupt state getting out of sync. The assembly code was also way too convoluted. The r8169 may get stuck or show bad behaviour after activating TSO : the net_device is not stopped when it has no more TX descriptors. This problem comes from TX_BUFS_AVAIL which may reach -1 when all transmit descriptors are in use. The patch simply tries to keep positive values. Tested with 8111d(onboard) on a D510MO, and with 8111e(onboard) on a Zotac 890GXITX. 2012-05-08mtd: ams-delta: fix request_mem_region() failureJanusz Krzysztofik
A call to request_mem_region() has been introduced in the omap-gpio driver recently (commit 96751fcbe5438e95514b025e9cee7a6d38038f40, "gpio/omap: Use devm_ API and add request_mem_region"). This change prevented the Amstrad Delta NAND driver, which was doing the same in order to take control over OMAP MPU I/O lines that the NAND device hangs off, from loading successfully. The I/O lines and corresponding registers used by the NAND driver are a subset of those used for the GPIO function. Then, to avoid run time collisions, all MPUIO GPIO lines should be marked as requested while initializing the NAND driver, and vice versa, a single MPUIO GPIO line already requested before the NAND driver initialization is attempted should prevent the NAND device from being started successfully. There is another driver, omap-keypad, which also manipulates MPUIO registers, but has never been calling request_mem_region() on startup, so it's not affected by the change in the gpio-omap and works correctly. It uses the depreciated omap_read/write functions for accessing MPUIO registers. Unlike the NAND driver, these I/O lines and registers are separate from those used by the GPIO driver. However, both register sets are non-contiguous and overlapping, so it would be impractical to request the two sets separately, one from the gpio-omap, the other form the omap-keypad driver. In order to solve all these issues correctly, a solution first suggested by Artem Bityutskiy, then closer specified by Tony Lindgren while they commented the initial version of this fix, should be implemented. The gpio-omap driver should export a few functions which would allow the other two drivers to access MPUIO registers in a safe manner instead of trying to manage them in parallel to the GPIO driver. However, such a big change, affecting 3 drivers all together, is not suitable for the rc cycle, and should be prepared for the merge window. Then, an alternative solution is proposed as a regression fix. For the ams-delta NAND driver to initialize correctly in coexistence with the changed GPIO driver, drop the request_mem_region() call from the former, especially as this call is going to be removed while the long-term solution is implemented. This patch adds a 64-bit flags2 features member to struct mlx4_dev to export further features of the hardware. The original flags field tracks features whose support bits are advertised by the firmware in offsets 0x40 and 0x44 of the query device capabilities command. flags2 will track features whose support bits are scattered at various offsets. RSS support is the first feature to be exported through flags2. RSS capabilities are located at offset 0x2e. The size of the RSS indirection table is also given in this offset. IB_QPT_RAW_PACKET allows applications to build a complete packet, including L2 headers, when sending; on the receive side, the HW will not strip any headers. This QP type is designed for userspace direct access to Ethernet; for example by applications that do TCP/IP themselves. Only processes with the NET_RAW capability are allowed to create raw packet QPs (the name "raw packet QP" is supposed to suggest an analogy to AF_PACKET / SOL_RAW sockets). Also make the ocrdma module depend on (IPV6 || IPV6=n) to forbid the case of modular ipv6 but built-in ocrdma (which can't work, because ocrdma calls ipv6 functions). 2012-05-08RDMA/ocrdma: Don't sleep in atomic notifier handlerSasha Levin
Events sent to ocrdma_inet6addr_event() are sent from an atomic context, therefore we can't try to lock a mutex within the notifier callback. We could just switch the mutex to a spinlock since all it does it protect a list, but I've gone ahead and switched the list to use RCU instead. I couldn't fully test it since I don't have IB hardware, so if it doesn't fully work for some reason let me know and I'll switch it back to using a spinlock.
