2020-10-26efi/arm: set HSCTLR Thumb2 bit correctly for HVC calls from HYPArd Biesheuvel
Commit db227c19e68db353 ("ARM: 8985/1: efi/decompressor: deal with HYP mode boot gracefully") updated the EFI entry code to permit firmware to invoke the EFI stub loader in HYP mode, with the MMU either enabled or disabled, neither of which is permitted by the EFI spec, but which does happen in the field. In the MMU on case, we remain in HYP mode as configured by the firmware, and rely on the fact that any HVC instruction issued in this mode will be dispatched via the SVC slot in the HYP vector table. However, this slot will point to a Thumb2 symbol if the kernel is built in Thumb2 mode, and so we have to configure HSCTLR to ensure that the exception handlers are invoked in Thumb2 mode as well. 2020-10-26staging: ion: remove from the treeGreg Kroah-Hartman
The ION android code has long been marked to be removed, now that we dma-buf support merged into the real part of the kernel. It was thought that we could wait to remove the ion kernel at a later time, but as the out-of-tree Android fork of the ion code has diverged quite a bit, and any Android device using the ion interface uses that forked version and not this in-tree version, the in-tree copy of the code is abandonded and not used by anyone. Combine this abandoned codebase with the need to make changes to it in order to keep the kernel building properly, which then causes merge issues when merging those changes into the out-of-tree Android code, and you end up with two different groups of people (the in-kernel-tree developers, and the Android kernel developers) who are both annoyed at the current situation. Because of this problem, just drop the in-kernel copy of the ion code now, as it's not used, and is only causing problems for everyone involved. 2020-10-25of: Fix reserved-memory overlap detectionVincent Whitchurch
The reserved-memory overlap detection code fails to detect overlaps if either of the regions starts at address 0x0. The code explicitly checks for and ignores such regions, apparently in order to ignore dynamically allocated regions which have an address of 0x0 at this point. These dynamically allocated regions also have a size of 0x0 at this point, so fix this by removing the check and sorting the dynamically allocated regions ahead of any static regions at address 0x0. For example, there are two overlaps in this case but they are not currently reported: foo@0 { reg = <0x0 0x2000>; }; bar@0 { reg = <0x0 0x1000>; }; baz@1000 { reg = <0x1000 0x1000>; }; quux { size = <0x1000>; }; but they are after this patch: OF: reserved mem: OVERLAP DETECTED! bar@0 (0x00000000--0x00001000) overlaps with foo@0 (0x00000000--0x00002000) OF: reserved mem: OVERLAP DETECTED! foo@0 (0x00000000--0x00002000) overlaps with baz@1000 (0x00001000--0x00002000) Signed-off-by: Vincent Whitchurch <vincent.whitchurch@axis.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/ded6fd6b47b58741aabdcc6967f73eca6a3f311e.1603273666.git-series.vincent.whitchurch@axis.com Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>

tid_addr is not a "pointer to (pointer to int in userspace)"; it is in fact a "pointer to (pointer to int in userspace) in userspace". So sparse rightfully complains about passing a kernel pointer to put_user(). 2020-10-25mm: remove kzfree() compatibility definitionEric Biggers
Commit 453431a54934 ("mm, treewide: rename kzfree() to kfree_sensitive()") renamed kzfree() to kfree_sensitive(), but it left a compatibility definition of kzfree() to avoid being too disruptive. Since then a few more instances of kzfree() have slipped in. Just get rid of them and remove the compatibility definition once and for all. 2020-10-25checkpatch: enable GIT_DIR environment use to set git repository locationJoe Perches
If set, use the environment variable GIT_DIR to change the default .git location of the kernel git tree. If GIT_DIR is unset, keep using the current ".git" default.
