Commit ae7c8cba3221 ("platform/x86: ideapad-laptop: add lenovo RESCUER
R720-15IKBN to no_hw_rfkill_list") added
DMI_MATCH(DMI_BOARD_NAME, "80WW")
for Lenovo RESCUER R720-15IKBN.
But DMI_BOARD_NAME does not match 80WW on Lenovo RESCUER R720-15IKBN,
thus cause Wireless LAN still be hard blocked.
On Lenovo RESCUER R720-15IKBN:

Fix it, and in according with other entries in no_hw_rfkill_list,

GUID
hid-asus depends on asus-wmi through the asus_wmi_evaluate_method. Before
this commit asus-wmi, and thus hid-asus, could not be loaded on non-Asus
systems. This breaks using Asus bluetooth keyboards such as the Asus
T100CHI keyboard with non Asus systems.
This commit fixes this by allowing asus-wmi to load on systems without the
Asus Management GUID.
This is safe to do since all asus-wmi sub drivers use
asus_wmi_register_driver which also checks for the GUID.
This commit also improves the error messages in asus_wmi_register_driver
to include "ASUS" in their description to make them more clear. This is
important since we now rely on those errors when loaded on systems without
the Asus Management GUID.

Use devm_hwmon_device_register_with_info() instead of
devm_hwmon_device_register_with_groups() to register the hwmon
device to simplify the code and make it easier to maintain.
As part of this change, thermal device registration is moved into
the hwmon core.

task struct, CURRENT_THREAD_INFO macro is not really needed any more.
This patch replaces it by loads of the value at PACA_THREAD_INFO(r13).

Now that thread_info is similar to task_struct, its address is in r2
so CURRENT_THREAD_INFO() macro is useless. This patch removes it.
This patch also moves the 'tovirt(r2, r2)' down just before the
reactivation of MMU translation, so that we keep the physical address
of 'current' in r2 until then. It avoids a few calls to tophys().
At the same time, as the 'cpu' field is not anymore in thread_info,
TI_CPU is renamed TASK_CPU by this patch.
It also allows to get rid of a couple of
'#ifdef CONFIG_VIRT_CPU_ACCOUNTING_NATIVE' as ACCOUNT_CPU_USER_ENTRY()
and ACCOUNT_CPU_USER_EXIT() are empty when
CONFIG_VIRT_CPU_ACCOUNTING_NATIVE is not defined.

The table of pointers 'current_set' has been used for retrieving
the stack and current. They used to be thread_info pointers as
they were pointing to the stack and current was taken from the
'task' field of the thread_info.
Now, the pointers of 'current_set' table are now both pointers
to task_struct and pointers to thread_info.
As they are used to get current, and the stack pointer is
retrieved from current's stack field, this patch changes
their type to task_struct, and renames secondary_ti to
secondary_current.

thread_info is not anymore in the stack, so the entire stack
can now be used.
There is also no risk anymore of corrupting task_cpu(p) with a
stack overflow so the patch removes the test.
When doing this, an explicit test for NULL stack pointer is
needed in validate_sp() as it is not anymore implicitely covered
by the sizeof(thread_info) gap.
In the meantime, with the previous patch all pointers to the stacks
are not anymore pointers to thread_info so this patch changes them
to void*

This patch activates CONFIG_THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK which
moves the thread_info into task_struct.
Moving thread_info into task_struct has the following advantages:
- It protects thread_info from corruption in the case of stack
overflows.
- Its address is harder to determine if stack addresses are leaked,
making a number of attacks more difficult.
This has the following consequences:
- thread_info is now located at the beginning of task_struct.
- The 'cpu' field is now in task_struct, and only exists when
CONFIG_SMP is active.
- thread_info doesn't have anymore the 'task' field.
This patch:
- Removes all recopy of thread_info struct when the stack changes.
- Changes the CURRENT_THREAD_INFO() macro to point to current.
- Selects CONFIG_THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK.
- Modifies raw_smp_processor_id() to get ->cpu from current without
including linux/sched.h to avoid circular inclusion and without
including asm/asm-offsets.h to avoid symbol names duplication
between ASM constants and C constants.
- Modifies klp_init_thread_info() to take a task_struct pointer
argument.

Make sure CURRENT_THREAD_INFO() is used with r1 which is the virtual
address of the stack, in order to ease the switch to r2 when we enable
THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK, as we have no register having the phys address of
current.

When we enable THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK we will remove our definition of
current_thread_info(). Instead it will come from linux/thread_info.h
So switch processor.h to include the latter, so that it can continue
to find current_thread_info().

Currently INIT_SP_LIMIT uses sizeof(init_thread_info), but that symbol
won't exist when we enable THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK. So just use the sizeof
the type which is the same value but will continue to work.

The purpose of the pointer given to call_do_softirq() and
call_do_irq() is to point the new stack. Currently that's the same
thing as the thread_info, but won't be with THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK.
So change the parameter to void* and rename it 'sp'.

This patch renames THREAD_INFO to TASK_STACK, because it is in fact
the offset of the pointer to the stack in task_struct so this pointer
will not be impacted by the move of THREAD_INFO.
Also make it available on 64-bit, as we'll need it there when we
activate THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK.

When CONFIG_THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK is selected, task stacks may be freed
before a task is destroyed. To account for this, the stacks are
refcounted, and when manipulating the stack of another task, it is
necessary to get/put the stack to ensure it isn't freed and/or re-used
while we do so.
This patch reworks the powerpc stack walking code to account for this.
When CONFIG_THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK is not selected these perform no
refcounting, and this should only be a structural change that does not
affect behaviour.

When moving to CONFIG_THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK, the thread_info 'cpu' field
gets moved into task_struct and only defined when CONFIG_SMP is set.
This patch ensures that TI_CPU is only used when CONFIG_SMP is set and
that task_struct 'cpu' field is not used directly out of SMP code.

When activating CONFIG_THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK, linux/sched.h includes
asm/current.h. This generates a circular dependency. To avoid that,
asm/processor.h shall not be included in mmu-hash.h.
In order to do that, this patch moves into a new header called
asm/task_size_64/32.h all the TASK_SIZE related constants, which can
then be included in mmu-hash.h directly.

In __secondary_start() we load the thread_info of the idle task of the
secondary CPU from current_set[cpu], and then convert it into a stack
pointer before storing that back to paca->kstack.
As pointed out in commit f761622e5943 ("powerpc: Initialise
paca->kstack before early_setup_secondary") it's important that we
initialise paca->kstack before calling the MMU setup code, in
particular slb_initialize(), because it will bolt the SLB entry for
the kstack into the SLB.
However we have already setup paca->kstack in cpu_idle_thread_init(),
since commit 3b5750644b2f ("[POWERPC] Bolt in SLB entry for kernel
stack on secondary cpus") (May 2008).
It's also in cpu_idle_thread_init() that we initialise current_set[cpu]
with the thread_info pointer, so there is no issue of the timing being
different between the two.
Therefore the initialisation of paca->kstack in __setup_secondary() is
completely redundant, so remove it.
This has the added benefit of removing code that runs in real mode,
and is therefore restricted by the RMO, and so opens the way for us to
enable THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK.

Currently in system_call_exit() we have an optimisation where we
disable MSR_RI (recoverable interrupt) and MSR_EE (external interrupt
enable) in a single mtmsrd instruction.
Unfortunately this will no longer work with THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK,
because then the load of TI_FLAGS might fault and faulting with MSR_RI
clear is treated as an unrecoverable exception which leads to a
panic().
So change the code to only clear MSR_EE prior to loading TI_FLAGS,
leaving the clear of MSR_RI until later. We have some latitude in
where do the clear of MSR_RI. A bit of experimentation has shown that
this location gives the least slow down.
This still causes a noticeable slow down in our null_syscall
performance. On a Power9 DD2.2:
Before After Delta Delta %
955 cycles 999 cycles -44 -4.6%
On the plus side this does simplify the code somewhat, because we
don't have to reenable MSR_RI on the restore_math() or
syscall_exit_work() paths which was necessitated previously by the
optimisation.

Add support for the Tegra210 timer that runs at oscillator clock
(TMR10-TMR13). We need these timers to work as clock event device and to
replace the ARMv8 architected timer due to it can't survive across the
power cycle of the CPU core or CPUPORESET signal. So it can't be a wake-up
source when CPU suspends in power down state.
Also convert the original driver to use timer-of API.

The Tegra210 timer provides fourteen 29-bit timer counters and one 32-bit
timestamp counter. The TMRs run at either a fixed 1 MHz clock rate derived
from the oscillator clock (TMR0-TMR9) or directly at the oscillator clock
(TMR10-TMR13). Each TMR can be programmed to generate one-shot periodic,
or watchdog interrupts.

Exynos Multi-Core Timer driver is used only on device-tree based
systems, so remove non-dt related code. In case of !CONFIG_OF
the code is anyway equal because of_irq_count() has a stub
returning 0. Device node pointer is always provided when driver
has been probed from device tree.

Currently, clocksource registration happens for an invalid cpu for
non-smp kernels. This lead to kernel panic as cpu hotplug registration
will fail for those cpus. Moreover, riscv_hartid_to_cpuid can return
errors now.
Do not proceed if hartid or cpuid is invalid. Take this opportunity to
print appropriate error strings for different failure cases.

When shutting down the timer, ensure that after we have stopped the
timer any pending interrupts are cleared. This fixes a problem when
suspending, as interrupts are disabled before the timer is stopped,
so the timer interrupt may still be asserted, preventing the system
entering a low power state when the wfi is executed.

When a timer tick occurs and the clock is in one-shot mode, the timer
needs to be stopped to prevent it triggering subsequent interrupts.
Currently this code is in exynos4_mct_tick_clear(), but as it is
only needed when an ISR occurs move it into exynos4_mct_tick_isr(),
leaving exynos4_mct_tick_clear() just doing what its name suggests it
should.

The Allwinner A64 SoC is known[1] to have an unstable architectural
timer, which manifests itself most obviously in the time jumping forward
a multiple of 95 years[2][3]. This coincides with 2^56 cycles at a
timer frequency of 24 MHz, implying that the time went slightly backward
(and this was interpreted by the kernel as it jumping forward and
wrapping around past the epoch).
Investigation revealed instability in the low bits of CNTVCT at the
point a high bit rolls over. This leads to power-of-two cycle forward
and backward jumps. (Testing shows that forward jumps are about twice as
likely as backward jumps.) Since the counter value returns to normal
after an indeterminate read, each "jump" really consists of both a
forward and backward jump from the software perspective.
Unless the kernel is trapping CNTVCT reads, a userspace program is able
to read the register in a loop faster than it changes. A test program
running on all 4 CPU cores that reported jumps larger than 100 ms was
run for 13.6 hours and reported the following:

This works out to a jump larger than 100 ms about every 5.5 seconds on
each CPU core.
The largest jump (almost an hour!) was the following sequence of reads:
0x0000007fffffffff → 0x00000093feffffff → 0x0000008000000000
Note that the middle bits don't necessarily all read as all zeroes or
all ones during the anomalous behavior; however the low 10 bits checked
by the function in this patch have never been observed with any other
value.
Also note that smaller jumps are much more common, with backward jumps
of 2048 (2^11) cycles observed over 400 times per second on each core.
(Of course, this is partially explained by lower bits rolling over more
frequently.) Any one of these could have caused the 95 year time skip.
Similar anomalies were observed while reading CNTPCT (after patching the
kernel to allow reads from userspace). However, the CNTPCT jumps are
much less frequent, and only small jumps were observed. The same program
as before (except now reading CNTPCT) observed after 72 hours:

Further investigation showed that the instability in CNTPCT/CNTVCT also
affected the respective timer's TVAL register. The following values were

The pattern of errors in CNTV_TVAL seemed to depend on exactly which
value was written to it. For example, after writing 0x10101010:

I was also twice able to reproduce the issue covered by Allwinner's
workaround[4], that writing to TVAL sometimes fails, and both CVAL and
TVAL are left with entirely bogus values. One was the following values:

Because the CPU can read the CNTPCT/CNTVCT registers faster than they
change, performing two reads of the register and comparing the high bits
(like other workarounds) is not a workable solution. And because the
timer can jump both forward and backward, no pair of reads can
distinguish a good value from a bad one. The only way to guarantee a
good value from consecutive reads would be to read _three_ times, and
take the middle value only if the three values are 1) each unique and
2) increasing. This takes at minimum 3 counter cycles (125 ns), or more
if an anomaly is detected.
However, since there is a distinct pattern to the bad values, we can
optimize the common case (1022/1024 of the time) to a single read by
simply ignoring values that match the error pattern. This still takes no
more than 3 cycles in the worst case, and requires much less code. As an
additional safety check, we still limit the loop iteration to the number
of max-frequency (1.2 GHz) CPU cycles in three 24 MHz counter periods.
For the TVAL registers, the simple solution is to not use them. Instead,
read or write the CVAL and calculate the TVAL value in software.
Although the manufacturer is aware of at least part of the erratum[4],
there is no official name for it. For now, use the kernel-internal name
"UNKNOWN1".

If the clock tree is not fully populated when the timer-sun5i init code
is called, attempts to get the clock rate for the timer would fail and
return 0.
Make the init code for both clock events and clocksource check the
returned clock rate and fail gracefully if the result is 0, instead of
causing a divide by 0 exception later on.

On most Intel Bay- and Cherry-Trail systems the PMIC is connected over I2C
and the PMIC is accessed through various means by the _PS0 and _PS3 ACPI
methods (power on / off methods) of various devices.
This leads to suspend/resume ordering problems where a device may be
resumed and get its _PS0 method executed before the I2C controller is
resumed. On Cherry Trail this leads to errors like these:

ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed \_SB.P18W._ON, AE_ERROR
video LNXVIDEO:00: Failed to change power state to D0
But on Bay Trail this caused I2C reads to seem to succeed, but they end
up returning wrong data, which ends up getting written back by the typical
read-modify-write cycle done to turn on various power-resources.
Debugging the problems caused by this silent data corruption is quite
nasty. This commit adds a check which disallows i2c_dw_xfer() calls to
happen until the controller's resume method has completed.
Which turns the silent data corruption into getting these errors in
dmesg instead:
i2c_designware 80860F41:04: Error i2c_dw_xfer call while suspended
ACPI Error: AE_ERROR, Returned by Handler for [UserDefinedRegion]
ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed \_SB.PCI0.GFX0._PS0, AE_ERROR
Which is much better.
Note the above errors are an example of issues which this patch will
help to debug, the actual fix requires fixing the suspend order and
this has been fixed by a different commit.
Note the setting / clearing of the suspended flag in the suspend / resume
methods is NOT protected by i2c_lock_bus(). This is intentional as these
methods get called from i2c_dw_xfer() (through pm_runtime_get/put) a nd
i2c_dw_xfer() is called with the i2c_bus_lock held, so otherwise we would
deadlock. This means that there is a theoretical race between a non runtime
suspend and the suspended check in i2c_dw_xfer(), this is not a problem
since normally we should not hit the race and this check is primarily a
debugging tool so hitting the check if there are suspend/resume ordering
problems does not need to be 100% reliable.

Commit 86c92b9965ff ("i2c: tegra: Add DMA support") added DMA support
to the Tegra I2C driver for Tegra devices that support the APB DMA
controller. One side-effect of this change is that even for Tegra
devices that do not have an APB DMA controller and hence, cannot
support DMA tranfers for I2C transactions, the following error messages
are still displayed ...
ERR KERN tegra-i2c 31c0000.i2c: cannot use DMA: -19
ERR KERN tegra-i2c 31c0000.i2c: falling back to PIO
There is no point displaying the above messages for devices that do not
have an APB DMA controller and so fix this by returning from the
tegra_i2c_init_dma() function if 'has_apb_dma' is not true.
Furthermore, if CONFIG_TEGRA20_APB_DMA is not set, then rather than
printing an error message, print an debug message as for whatever reason
this could be intentional.

kcov provides kernel coverage data that's useful for fuzzing tools like
syzkaller.
Wire up kcov support on powerpc. Disable kcov instrumentation on the same
files where we currently disable gcov and UBSan instrumentation, plus some
additional exclusions which appear necessary to boot on book3e machines.

On 8xx, large pages (512kb or 8M) are used to map kernel linear
memory. Aligning to 8M reduces TLB misses as only 8M pages are used
in that case. We make 8M the default for data.
This patchs allows the user to do it via Kconfig.
