nfs_idmap_legacy_upcall() is supposed to be called with 'aux' pointing
to a 'struct idmap', via the call to request_key_with_auxdata() in
nfs_idmap_request_key().
However it can also be reached via the request_key() system call in
which case 'aux' will be NULL, causing a NULL pointer dereference in
nfs_idmap_prepare_pipe_upcall(), assuming that the key description is
valid enough to get that far.
Fix this by making nfs_idmap_legacy_upcall() negate the key if no
auxdata is provided.
As usual, this bug was found by syzkaller. A simple reproducer using
the command-line keyctl program is:

usbip host lists devices attached to vhci_hcd on the same server
when user does attach over localhost or specifies the server as the
remote.
usbip attach -r localhost -b busid
or
usbip attach -r servername (or server IP)
Fix it to check and not list devices that are attached to vhci_hcd.

usbip host binds to devices attached to vhci_hcd on the same server

Unbind followed by bind works, however device is left in a bad state with
accesses via the attached busid result in errors and system hangs during
shutdown.

The pointer mos_parport is being initialized to pp->private_data and
then the assignment is duplicated after a spin lock. Remove the
initialization as it occurs before the spin lock and it is a redundant
assignment.

The current code tries to test for bits that are masked out by
usb_endpoint_maxp(). Instead, use the proper accessor to access

Currently, if the call to devlink_resource_find returns null then
the error exit path does not free the devlink_resource 'resource'
and a memory leak occurs. Fix this by kfree'ing resource on the
error exit path.

If we try to read the backend registers while it fetches the new values, we
end up with the value of some random register instead of the one we asked
for.
In order to prevent that, let's make sure that the very first thing we do
during our atomic modesetting is to let the commit bit come to a rest.
We don't have to worry about anything else since the only time we will
trigger a new transaction is during the atomic_commit which comes much
later.

FS040U modem is manufactured by omega, and sold by Fujisoft. This patch
adds ID of the modem to use option1 driver. Interface 3 is used as
qmi_wwan, so the interface is ignored.

In commit fc922bb0dd94 ("mlxsw: spectrum_router: Use one LPM tree for
all virtual routers") I tried to make sure only used prefix lengths are
present in the LPM tree shared between all virtual routers.
However, this optimization had to be removed in commit a69518cf0b4c
("mlxsw: spectrum_router: Avoid expensive lookup during route removal"),
since determining the used prefix lengths required us to traverse all
the active virtual routers, which could result in a hung task depending
on the number of VRFs and whether routes were removed due to abort or
not.
Re-introduce the optimization by moving the prefix usage accounting from
the virtual routers to the LPM tree, as this accounting is only used in
order to determine the tree's structure.
To make the sharing of the trees more explicit, the two trees (for IPv4
and IPv6) are stored in the shared router struct and upon the creation
of a virtual router it is immediately bound to both.

Next patch will try to optimize the LPM tree and make sure only used
prefix lengths are present, to avoid unnecessary look-ups.
Pass the currently removed FIB node to the unlinking function as its
associated prefix length is a potential candidate for removal from the
tree.

Currently, each FIB (IPv4 / IPv6) in a virtual router holds a prefix
usage that is used to choose a matching LPM tree, but also to check if
the FIB is empty, so that the LPM tree could be unbound.
Next patches will remove the reliance on the per-FIB prefix usage for
LPM tree matching. Keeping it only to check if the FIB is empty is a
waste, since we can use the nodes ({Prefix, Length}) list instead.

During a hardware commit, the commit bit in the backend will only be
cleared if the TCON is enabled. Use the runtime_pm variant of the
atomic_commit_tail hook that makes sure that the CRTC, our TCON, is enabled
when we perform an atomic_commit.

I get some static checker warnings like this:
drivers/staging/rts5208/ms.c:2607 ms_build_l2p_tbl()
error: buffer underflow 'ms_card->segment' (-1)-16
The problem is that we memset "ms_card" to zero at the start of the
reset_ms_card() function. That means that when we try to calculate
"ms_card->total_block / 512 - 1" then it's just always -1. The fix is
to calculate "seg_no" before doing the memset().
This is a static checker fix, and I am not able to test it. My theory
is that reset_ms_card() gets very little testing which is why this bug
exists.

Now that we have everything in place, we can start enabling the frontend.
This is more difficult than one would assume since there can only be one
plane using the frontend per-backend.
We therefore need to make sure that the userspace will not try to setup
multiple planes using it, since that would be impossible. In order to
prevent that, we can create an atomic_check callback that will check that
only one plane will effectively make use of the frontend in a given
configuration, and will toggle the switch in that plane state so that the
proper setup function can do their role.

Now that we have a driver, we can make use of it. This is done by
adding a flag to our custom plane state that will trigger whether we should
use the frontend on that particular plane or not.
The rest is just plumbing to set up the backend to not perform the DMA but
receive its data from the frontend.
Note that we're still not making any use of the frontend itself, as no one
is setting the flag yet.

The display frontend is an hardware block that can be used to implement
some more advanced features like hardware scaling or colorspace
conversions. It can also be used to implement the output format of the VPU.
Let's create a minimal driver for it that will only enable the hardware
scaling features.

In some cases, the display engine needs to apply some quirks during the
VBLANK event. In the Display Engine 1.0 case for example, we can only
disable the frontend once the backend has been, which is at VBLANK.
Let's introduce a callback that can be implemented by the various engines.

We have some restrictions on what the planes and CRTC can provide that are
tied to only one generation of display engines.
For example, on the first generation, we can only have one YUV plane or one
plane that uses the frontend output.
Let's allow our engines to provide an atomic_check callback to validate the
current configuration.

We will need to store some additional data in the future to the state.
Create a custom plane state that will embed those data, in order to store
the pipe or whether or not that plane should use the frontend.

The function converting the DRM format to its equivalent in the backend
registers was assuming that we were having a plane.
However, we might want to use that function when setting up a plane using
the frontend, in which case we will not have a plane associated to the
backend's layer. Yet, we still need to setup the format to the one output
by the frontend.
Test for NULL plane pointers before referencing them, so that we can work
around it.

Setup the line stride in the buffer setup function, since it's tied to the
buffer itself, and is not needed when we do not set the buffer in the
backend.
This is for example the case when using the frontend and then routing its
output to the backend.

This is because when the device is released in
platform_device_release(), we try to free
pdev.driver_override. This is a const string, hence

Get rid of gfs2_log_header_in by integrating it into get_log_header.
Clean up the crc32 computations and use the same functions for encoding
and decoding to make things less confusing. Eliminate lh_hash from
gfs2_log_header_host which is completely useless.

Before we go into suspend mode, we enable the imx uart's interrupt for
the awake bit in the UART Status Register 1. If, for some reason, the
awake bit is already set before we enter suspend mode, we get an
interrupt immediately when we enable interrupts for awake. The uart's
clk_ipg is disabled at this point (unless there's an ongoing transfer).
We end up in the interrupt handler, which usually tries to clear the
awake bit. This doesn't work with the clock disabled. Therefore, we
keep getting interrupts forever, resulting in an endless loop.
Clear the awake bit before setting the awaken bit to signal that we want
an imx interrupt when the awake bit will be set. This ensures that we're
not woken up by events that happened before we started going into
suspend mode.
Change the clock handling so that suspend prepares and enables the clock
and suspend_noirq disables it. Revert these operations in resume_noirq and
resume.
With these preparations in place, we can now modify awake and awaken in
the suspend function when the actual imx interrupt is disabled and the
required clk_ipg is active.
Update the thaw and freeze functions to use the new clock handling since
we share the suspend_noirq function between suspend and hibernate.

setserial changes the IRQ via uart_set_info(). It invokes
uart_shutdown() which free the current used IRQ and clear
TTY_PORT_INITIALIZED. It will then update the IRQ number and invoke
uart_startup() before returning to the caller leaving
TTY_PORT_INITIALIZED cleared.
The next open will crash with

since the close from the IOCTL won't free the IRQ (and clean the list)
due to the TTY_PORT_INITIALIZED check in uart_shutdown().
There is same pattern in uart_do_autoconfig() and I *think* it also
needs to set TTY_PORT_INITIALIZED there.
Is there a reason why uart_startup() does not set the flag by itself
after the IRQ has been acquired (since it is cleared in uart_shutdown)?

Only serdev devices (a.k.a. clients or slaves) are bound to drivers so
bail out early from match() in case the device is not a serdev device
(i.e. if it's a serdev controller).

Serdev controllers are not bound to any drivers and it therefore makes
no sense to generate modaliases for them.
This has already been fixed separately for ACPI controllers for which
uevent errors were also being logged during probe due to the missing
ACPI companions (from which ACPI modaliases are generated).
This patch moves the modalias handling from the bus type to the client
device type. Specifically, this means that only serdev devices (a.k.a.
clients or slaves) will have have MODALIAS fields in their uevent
environments and corresponding modalias sysfs attributes.
Also add the missing static keyword for the modalias device attribute
when moving the definition.

The documentation was wrong, gpiod_get_direction() returns 0/1 instead
of the GPIOF_* flags. The docs were fixed with commit 94fc73094abe47
("gpio: correct docs about return value of gpiod_get_direction"). Now,
fix this user (until a better, system-wide solution is in place). This
also means we can drop the deprecated use of 'linux/gpio.h'. Yay!

The commit
de9e33bdfa22 ("serial: 8250_dw: Improve clock rate setting")
obviously tries to cure symptoms, and not a root cause.
The root cause is the non-flexible rate calculation inside the
corresponding clock driver. What we need is to provide maximum UART
divisor value to the clock driver to allow it do the job transparently
to the caller.
Since from the initial commit message I have got no clue which clock
driver actually needs to be amended, I leave this exercise to the people
who know better the case.
Moreover, it seems [1] the fix introduced a regression. And possible
even one more [2].
Taking above, revert the commit de9e33bdfa22 for now.

'hwname' is malloced in hwsim_new_radio_nl() and should be freed
before leaving from the error handling cases, otherwise it will cause
memory leak.

pinctrl/devinfo.h is using forward declaration from pinctrl/consumer.h
for configurations with CONFIG_PINCTRL defined, however nothing declares

As we attempt to allocate pages for use in a new WC stash, direct
reclaim may run underneath us and fill up the WC stash. We have to be
careful then not to overflow the pvec.

Commit 7fb59e940f62 ("ASoC: codecs: dmic: Make number of channels
configurable") introduces an optional property to the device tree
to specify the number of DMIC channels. dmic_codec_probe() uses
of_property_read_u32() to read the DT value, and expects a return
value of -ENOENT when the property does not exist. This expectation
is incorrect, the actual value returned in this case is -EINVAL (see
of_find_property_value_of_size(), which is called under the hood).
Check for -EINVAL instead.
