Different motherboards have different PNP declarations for W83781D/W83782D chips. Some declare the whole range of I/O ports (8 ports), some declare only the useful ports (2 ports at offset 5) and some declare fancy ranges, for example 4 ports at offset 4. To properly handle all cases, request all ports individually for probing. After we have determined that we really have a W83781D or W83782D chip, the useful port range will be requested again, as a single block. I did not see a board which needs this yet, but I know of one for lm78 driver and I'd like to keep the logic of these two drivers in sync. The #define ADT7462_VOLT_COUNT is wrong, it should be 13 not 12. All the for loops that use this as a limit count are of the typical form, "for (n = 0; n < ADT7462_VOLT_COUNT; n++)", so to loop through all voltages w/o missing the last one it is necessary for the count to be one greater than it is. The report descriptor is read by user space (via the Service Discovery Protocol), so it is only available during the ioctl to connect. However, the HID probe function that needs the descriptor might not be called until a specific module is loaded. Keep a copy of the descriptor so it is available for later use. The functionality bit vector is always returned as a little-endian 32-bit number by the device, so it must be byte-swapped to the host endianness. Add code to start the CMT timer on clocksource resume. While at it handle the suspend case as well. Remove the platform device specific suspend calls. This makes sure the timer is started during sysdev_resume(). Without this patch the clocksource may be read as suspended, this after sysdev resume but before platform device resume. 2010-02-05clocksource: add suspend callbackMagnus Damm
Add a clocksource suspend callback. This callback can be used by the clocksource driver to shutdown and perform any kind of late suspend activities even though the clocksource driver itself is a non-sysdev driver. One example where this is useful is to fix the sh_cmt.c platform driver that today suspends using the platform bus and shuts down the clocksource too early. With this callback in place the sh_cmt driver will suspend using the clocksource and clockevent hooks and leave the platform device pm callbacks unused. It is possible (and expected) for there to be holes in the h->drv[] array, that is, some elements may be NULL pointers. cciss_seq_show needs to be made aware of this possibility to avoid an Oops. To reproduce the Oops which this fixes: 1) Create two "arrays" in the Array Configuratino Utility and several logical drives on each array. 2) cat /proc/driver/cciss/cciss* in an infinite loop 3) delete some of the logical drives in the first "array." My sound codec seems sometimes (very rarely) to omit interrupts (ALC268) However, interrupt mode still works. Thus if we get timeout, poll the codec once. If we get 3 such polls in a row, then switch to polling mode. This patch is maybe an bandaid, but this might be a workaround for hardware bug. 2010-02-05ALSA: ice1712: fix: lock samplerate when samplerate locking is enabledSebastien Alaiwan
I found that the sampling rate locking setting of the ice1712 sound driver was only half-respected : when the driver was locked to, let's say, 44100Hz, and a usermode app was requesting 48000Hz playback, the request was succesful although the soundcard would continue to run at 44100Hz.
