2015-01-28Bluetooth: Fix notifying discovery state upon resetJohan Hedberg
When HCI_Reset is issued the discovery state is assumed to be stopped. The hci_cc_reset() handler was trying to set the state but it was doing it without using the hci_discovery_set_state() function. Because of this e.g. the mgmt Discovering event could go without being sent. This patch fixes the code to use the hci_discovery_set_state() function instead of just blindly setting the state value. 2015-01-28Bluetooth: Fix check for SSP when enabling SCJohan Hedberg
There's a check in set_secure_conn() that's supposed to ensure that SSP is enabled before we try to request the controller to enable SC (since SSP is a pre-requisite for it). However, this check only makes sense for controllers actually supporting BR/EDR SC. If we have a 4.0 controller we're only interested in the LE part of SC and should therefore not be requiring SSP to be enabled. This patch adds an additional condition to check for lmp_sc_capable(hdev) before requiring SSP to be enabled. 2015-01-28Bluetooth: btusb: Remove redundant call to btusb_free_frags()Johan Hedberg
The btusb_disconnect() callback calls hci_unregister_dev() which in turn calls btusb_close() if the HCI device is powered. The btusb_close() function in turn will call btusb_free_frags(). It's therefore unnecessary to have another call to btusb_free_frags() in the btusb_disconnect() function. Besides the redundancy the second call seems to also cause some strange stability issues which this patch then also fixes. When loading the Intel firmware it can happen that the firmware loading complete vendor event arrives before the command complete event for the last firmware fragment. < HCI Command: Vendor (0x3f|0x0009) plen 7 01 02 fc 03 00 00 00 > HCI Event: Vendor (0xff) plen 5 06 00 00 00 00 > HCI Event: Command Complete (0x0e) plen 4 Vendor (0x3f|0x0009) ncmd 31 Status: Success (0x00) This is mainly caused by the fact that the vendor command and its command complete event are transported over the bulk endpoints. The firmware loading complete event however is send over the interrupt endpoint. So with just bad timing one event arrives before the other. Currently the code does not account for it. There are precautions for receiving firmware loading complete event quickly, but not for receiving it before the command complete. Introduce an extra flag that tracks when the firmware sending has completed from the driver point of view and track the completion of the firmware loading procedure with a different flag. 2015-01-28Bluetooth: btusb: Add firmware loading for Intel Snowfield Peak devicesMarcel Holtmann
The Intel Snowfield Peak devices do not come with Bluetooth firmware loaded and thus require a full download of the operational Bluetooth firmware when the device is connected via USB. Snowfield Peak devices start with a bootloader mode that only accepts a very limited set of HCI commands. The supported commands are enough to identify the hardware and select the right firmware to load. Previous patches to the btusb driver allow overwriting the handling for bulk receive endpoint packets and HCI events processing. The firmware loading makes heavy use of these new internal callbacks. This patch also introduces additional internal states to track if the device is in bootloader or operational mode. This allows for correct feedback about the firmware loading procedure. 2015-01-28ARM: mvebu: don't set the PL310 in I/O coherency mode when I/O coherency is ↵Thomas Petazzoni
disabled Since commit f2c3c67f00 (merge commit that adds commit "ARM: mvebu: completely disable hardware I/O coherency"), we disable I/O coherency on Armada EBU platforms. However, we continue to initialize the coherency fabric, because this coherency fabric is needed on Armada XP for inter-CPU coherency. Unfortunately, due to this, we also continued to execute the coherency fabric initialization code for Armada 375/38x, which switched the PL310 into I/O coherent mode. This has the effect of disabling the outer cache sync operation: this is needed when I/O coherency is enabled to work around a PCIe/L2 deadlock. But obviously, when I/O coherency is disabled, having the outer cache sync operation is crucial. Therefore, this commit fixes the armada_375_380_coherency_init() so that the PL310 is switched to I/O coherent mode only if I/O coherency is enabled. Without this fix, all devices using DMA are broken on Armada 375/38x. FAIL mode You can't modify the metadata in these modes. It's better to fail these messages immediately than let the block-manager deny write locks on metadata blocks. Otherwise these failed metadata changes will trigger 'needs_check' to get set in the metadata superblock -- requiring repair using the thin_check utility. This effectively reverts the last hunk of 392a9dad7e77 ("rbd: detect when clone image is flattened"). The problem with parent_overlap != 0 condition is that it's possible and completely valid to have an image with parent_overlap == 0 whose parent state needs to be cleaned up on unmap. Hence, even if rbd_dev_unparent() caused by flatten is delayed by in-flight requests, it will have finished by the time we reach rbd_dev_unprobe() caused by unmap, thus turning unconditional rbd_dev_parent_put() into a no-op. 2015-01-28rbd: fix rbd_dev_parent_get() when parent_overlap == 0Ilya Dryomov
The comment for rbd_dev_parent_get() said * We must get the reference before checking for the overlap to * coordinate properly with zeroing the parent overlap in * rbd_dev_v2_parent_info() when an image gets flattened. We * drop it again if there is no overlap. but the "drop it again if there is no overlap" part was missing from the implementation. This lead to absurd parent_ref values for images with parent_overlap == 0, as parent_ref was incremented for each img_request and virtually never decremented. Fix this by leveraging the fact that refresh path calls rbd_dev_v2_parent_info() under header_rwsem and use it for read in rbd_dev_parent_get(), instead of messing around with atomics. Get rid of barriers in rbd_dev_v2_parent_info() while at it - I don't see what they'd pair with now and I suspect we are in a pretty miserable situation as far as proper locking goes regardless. 2015-01-28can: kvaser_usb: Add support for the USBcan-II familyAhmed S. Darwish
CAN to USB interfaces sold by the Swedish manufacturer Kvaser are divided into two major families: 'Leaf', and 'USBcanII'. From an Operating System perspective, the firmware of both families behave in a not too drastically different fashion. This patch adds support for the USBcanII family of devices to the current Kvaser Leaf-only driver. CAN frames sending, receiving, and error handling paths has been tested using the dual-channel "Kvaser USBcan II HS/LS" dongle. It should also work nicely with other products in the same category. 2015-01-28perf: Tighten (and fix) the grouping conditionPeter Zijlstra
The fix from 9fc81d87420d ("perf: Fix events installation during moving group") was incomplete in that it failed to recognise that creating a group with events for different CPUs is semantically broken -- they cannot be co-scheduled. Furthermore, it leads to real breakage where, when we create an event for CPU Y and then migrate it to form a group on CPU X, the code gets confused where the counter is programmed -- triggered in practice as well by me via the perf fuzzer. Fix this by tightening the rules for creating groups. Only allow grouping of counters that can be co-scheduled in the same context. This means for the same task and/or the same cpu. 2015-01-28perf/x86/intel/uncore: Move uncore_box_init() out of driver initializationKan Liang
There were some issues about the uncore driver tried to access non-existing boxes, which caused boot crashes. These issues have been all fixed. But we should avoid boot failures if that ever happens again. This patch intends to prevent this kind of potential issues. It moves uncore_box_init out of driver initialization. 2015-01-28quota: Switch ->get_dqblk() and ->set_dqblk() to use bytes as space unitsJan Kara
Currently ->get_dqblk() and ->set_dqblk() use struct fs_disk_quota which tracks space limits and usage in 512-byte blocks. However VFS quotas track usage in bytes (as some filesystems require that) and we need to somehow pass this information. Upto now it wasn't a problem because we didn't do any unit conversion (thus VFS quota routines happily stuck number of bytes into d_bcount field of struct fd_disk_quota). Only if you tried to use Q_XGETQUOTA or Q_XSETQLIM for VFS quotas (or Q_GETQUOTA / Q_SETQUOTA for XFS quotas), you got bogus results. Hardly anyone tried this but reportedly some Samba users hit the problem in practice. So when we want interfaces compatible we need to fix this. We bite the bullet and define another quota structure used for passing information from/to ->get_dqblk()/->set_dqblk. It's somewhat sad we have to have more conversion routines in fs/quota/quota.c and another copying of quota structure slows down getting of quota information by about 2% but it seems cleaner than overloading e.g. units of d_bcount to bytes. Commit 6fb1ca92a640 "udf: Fix race between write(2) and close(2)" changed the condition when preallocation is released. The idea was that we don't want to release the preallocation for an inode on close when there are other writeable file descriptors for the inode. However the condition was written in the opposite way so we released preallocation only if there were other writeable file descriptors. Fix the problem by changing the condition properly. This patch introduces run-time board detection through DMI and MAC-PHY configuration function used by quark_default_data() during initialization. It fills up the phy_addr for Galileo and Galileo Gen2 boards to indicate that the Ethernet MAC controller is or is not connected to any PHY. The implementation takes into consideration for future expansion in Quark series boards that may have different PHY address that is linked to its MAC controllers. This piece of work is derived from Bryan O'Donoghue's initial work for Quark X1000 enabling. 2015-01-27net/mlx4_core: Fix struct mlx4_vhcr_cmd to make implicit padding explicitJack Morgenstein
Struct mlx4_vhcr was implicitly padded by the gcc compiler on 64-bit architectures. This commit makes that padding explicit, to prevent issues with changing compilers and with incompatibilities between 32-bit architecture implicit padding and 64-bit architecture implicit padding. This structure is used in virtualization for communication between the Host and its Guests. The explicit padding allows 64-bit Hosts (old and new) to continue to interoperate with 64-bit Guests (old and new). However, without this fix, 64-bit Hosts could not interoperate with 32-bit Guests (since these did not insert the padding dword). With this fix, 32-bit Guests will be able to interoperate with 64-bit Hosts (since the structure offsets will be identical on both).
