The sequence of cpu_enter_lowpower() for Cortex-A15 is
different from the sequence for Cortex-A9. This patch
implements cpu_enter_lowpower() for EXYNOS5 SoC which
has Cortex-A15 cores.

If an MSR based monitor is run in parallel this is not needed. This is the
default case on all/most Intel machines.
But when only sysfs info is read via cpupower monitor -m Idle_Stats (typically
the case for non root users) or when other monitors are PCI based (AMD),
Idle_Stats, read from sysfs can be totally bogus:

With the -c option all cores are woken up and the kernel
did update cpuidle statistics before reading out sysfs.
This causes some overhead. Therefore avoid if possible, use
if needed:

The pkgs member of cpupower_topology is being used as the number of
cpu packages. As the comment in get_cpu_topology notes, the package ids
are not guaranteed to be contiguous. So, simply setting pkgs to the value
of the highest physical_package_id doesn't actually provide a count of
the number of cpu packages. Instead, calculate pkgs by setting it to
the number of distinct physical_packge_id values which is pretty easy
to do after the core_info structs are sorted. Calculating pkgs this
way also has the nice benefit of getting rid of a sign comparison warning
that GCC 4.6 was reporting.

The cpu_info member of cpupower_topology was being declared as an unnamed
structure. This member was then being malloced using the size of the
parent cpupower_topology * the number of cpus. This works
because cpu_info is smaller than cpupower_topology. However, there is
no guarantee that will always be the case. Making cpu_info its own
top level structure (named cpuid_core_info) allows for mallocing the actual
size of this structure. This also lets us get rid of a redefinition of
the structure in topology.c with slightly different field names.

Fix a variety of issues with sysfs_topology_read_file:
* The return value of sysfs_topology_read_file function was not properly
being checked for failure.
* The function was reading int valued sysfs variables and then returning
their value. So, even if a function was trying to check the return value
of this function, a caller would not be able to tell an failure code apart
from reading a negative value. This also conflicted with the comment on the
function which said that a return value of 0 indicated success.
* The function was parsing int valued sysfs values with strtoul instead of
strtol.
* The function was non-static even though it was only used in the
file it was declared in.

The files generated by the Makefiles in the debug directories aren't listed
in the .gitignore file in the root of the cpupower tool which causes these
files to show up in the output of 'git status'.

The clean targets from the cpupower tools' Makefiles use brace expansion to
remove some generated files. However, the default shells on many systems do
not support this feature resulting in some generated files not being removed
by clean.

This fix black screen on resume issue that some people are
experiencing. There is a bug in the atombios code regarding
pll/crtc mapping. The atombios code reverse the logic for
the pll and crtc mapping.
agd5f: drop unnecessary crtc id check, cc stable in case
we miss 3.7.
This fixes the root cause that was worked around by commits:
drm/radeon: allocate PPLLs from low to high
drm/radeon/dce3: switch back to old pll allocation order for discrete

Below equation means the "voltage" is the "smallest" voltage within specific
range.
ret = DIV_ROUND_UP(min - bottom) / step;
voltage = ret * step + bottom;
If we do try 1 down when (voltage > max), new voltage is then less than min
voltage. Which means the new voltage is not in the requested voltage range.
This patch also includes below cleanups:
- Use DIV_ROUND_UP
- rename variable 'ret' to 'sel' for better readability because as3711_sel_check
returns the selector.

Below cases are supposed to be valid:
min_uV == max_uV == info->max_uV
min_uV == max_uV == rdev->desc->min_uV
Don't return -EINVAL for above cases.
This patch also includes below cleanups:
- Use rdev_get_drvdata(rdev) instead of rdev->reg_data.
- Remove unnecessary WARN_ON, it looks pointless.

set_current_limit
Selecting the minimal value is only true for voltage regulators.
For current regulators the maximum in the given range should be
selected instead.
This issue was reported by Heiko Stuebner for gpio-regulator driver [1],
and the conclusion is to select the max current for current regulators [2].

This patch also ensures da9055_buck_set_current_limit return -EINVAL when the
supported current limit does not meet the request range.

If a function has a return value, but its kernel-doc comment doesn't contain a
"Return" section, then emit the following warning:
Warning(file.h:129): No description found for return value of 'fct'
Note: This check emits a lot of warnings at the moment, because many functions
don't have a 'Return' doc section. So until the number of warnings goes
sufficiently down, the check is only performed in verbose mode.

Non-void functions should describe their return values in their kernel-doc
comments. Currently, some don't, others do in various forms. For example:
* Return the result.
* Return: The result.
* Returns the result.
* Returns: the result.
* Return Value: The result.
* @return: the result.
* This function returns the result.
* It will return the result.
Defining a convention would improve consistency of kernel-doc comments. It
would also help scripts/kernel-doc identify the text describing the return
value of a function. Thus allowing additional checks on the comments, and
suitable highlighting in the generated docs (man pages, html, etc).
So, as a convention, use a section named "Return" to describe the return
value of a function.

Some drivers (at least 3 drivers) have such variant of linear mapping that
the first few selectors are invalid and the reset are linear mapping.
Let's support this case in core.
This patch adds linear_min_sel in struct regulator_desc,
so we can allow specific minimal selector for starting linear mapping.
Then extends regulator_[map|list]_voltage_linear() to support this feature.
Note that for selectors less than min_linear_index, we need count them to
n_voltages so regulator_list_voltage() won't fail while checking the boundary
for selector before calling list_voltage callback.

Commit eddb079deb4 created a regression in the writepages codepath.
Previously, whenever it needed to check the size of the file, it did so
by consulting the inode->i_size field directly. With that patch, the
i_size was fetched once on entry into the writepages code and that value
was used henceforth.
If the file is changing size though (for instance, if someone is writing
to it or has truncated it), then that value is likely to be wrong. This
can lead to data corruption. Pages past the EOF at the time that the
writepages call was issued may be silently dropped and ignored because
cifs_writepages wrongly assumes that the file must have been truncated
in the interim.
Fix cifs_writepages to properly fetch the size from the inode->i_size
field instead to properly account for this possibility.

On some platforms, _TMP and _CRT/_HOT/_PSV/_ACx have dependency.
And there is no way for OS to detect this dependency.
commit 9bcb8118965ab4631a65ee0726e6518f75cda6c5 shows us a problem
that _TMP must be evaluate after _CRT/_HOT/_PSV/_ACx, or else
firmware will shutdown the system.
But the machine in https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43284
shows us that _PSV would return valid value only if _TMP has been
evaluated once.
With this patch, all of the control methods will be evaluated once,
in the _CRT/_HOT/_PSV/_CRT/_TMP order, before they are actually used.

Hi Mark,
thanks your insisting on a better description for the patch, I found a
more appropriate solution for the problem:
Compiling the SoC Audio driver for Freescale i.MX as a module
(CONFIG_SND_SOC_IMX_PCM=m) results in a non-functional sound driver
indicated by the error message:

instead of the message:

that is to be expected upon loading the snd-soc-imx-pcm.ko module.
The build log reveals, that the file imx-pcm-dma.o (or imx-pcm-fiq.o
depending on the kernel configuration), which should be linked
together with imx-pcm.o into snd-imx-pcm.ko, is not being compiled in
this case.
The make rules for these files shows that the target object imx-pcm.o
is assigned to the variable snd-soc-imx-pcm-y while
imx-pcm-{dma,fiq}.o are added to to
snd-soc-imx-pcm-$(CONFIG_SND_SOC_IMX_PCM_DMA) and
snd-soc-imx-pcm-$(CONFIG_SND_SOC_IMX_PCM_FIQ) which resolve to
snd-soc-imx-pcm-m in this case.
According to Documentation/kbuild/modules.txt:

Thus the type of the config variables CONFIG_SND_SOC_IMX_PCM_DMA and

Due to a broken make rule, sound/soc/fsl/imx-pcm-dma.c or
sound/soc/fsl/imx-pcm-fiq.c (whatever is selected via Kconfig) will
not be compiled into imx-pcm.o when building as module, i.e.:
CONFIG_SND_SOC_IMX_PCM=m
CONFIG_SND_SOC_IMX_PCM_DMA=m
resulting in a non-functional sound driver.
This gives the error messages:

There appear to have been some 486 clones, including the "enhanced"
version of Am486, which have CPUID but not CR4. These 486 clones had
only the FPU flag, if any, unlike the Intel 486s with CPUID, which
also had VME and therefore needed CR4.
Therefore, look at the basic CPUID flags and require at least one bit
other than bit 0 before we modify CR4.

problem.
