2013-04-24ACPI: Fix wrong parameter passed to memblock_reserveWang YanQing
Commit 53aac44 (ACPI: Store valid ACPI tables passed via early initrd in reserved memblock areas) introduced acpi_initrd_override() that passes a wrong value as the second argument to memblock_reserve(). Namely, the second argument of memblock_reserve() is the size of the region, not the address of the top of it, so make acpi_initrd_override() pass the size in there as appropriate. Add dmaengine support. Using "has_dma_support" member of struct is used to select the transfer mode: dmaengine or pdc. For the dmaengine transfer mode, it supports both 8 bits and 16 bits transfer. 2013-04-24regulator: ab3100: device tree supportLinus Walleij
This implements device tree support for the AB3100 regulators driver. The initial settings are moved out of platform data and into the driver for the device tree case, as it appears that there is no way to supply this as AUXDATA for an I2C device. The style and bindings are heavily inspired by Lee Jones' style for AB8500. 2013-04-24Revert "drm/i915: Don't overclock on Haswell"Ben Widawsky
This reverts commit fec46b5eff854df5647a9f4724e45dd33933855a. The latest version of our PM programming doc (which is WAY better than previous versions, and thanks for that) says something along the lines of, "On Haswell overclocking is no long achieved via mailbox registers." Which I misinterpreted as, the driver must done something different than it did on IVB, and SNB. It appears I jumped the gun, and that's all false. We've gotten some clarification, and it appears at least *reading* the overclocking information works in exactly the same manner. 2013-04-24sched: Prevent to re-select dst-cpu in load_balance()Joonsoo Kim
Commit 88b8dac0 makes load_balance() consider other cpus in its group. But, in that, there is no code for preventing to re-select dst-cpu. So, same dst-cpu can be selected over and over. This patch add functionality to load_balance() in order to exclude cpu which is selected once. We prevent to re-select dst_cpu via env's cpus, so now, env's cpus is a candidate not only for src_cpus, but also dst_cpus. With this patch, we can remove lb_iterations and max_lb_iterations, because we decide whether we can go ahead or not via env's cpus. 2013-04-24sched: Move up affinity check to mitigate useless redoing overheadJoonsoo Kim
Currently, LBF_ALL_PINNED is cleared after affinity check is passed. So, if task migration is skipped by small load value or small imbalance value in move_tasks(), we don't clear LBF_ALL_PINNED. At last, we trigger 'redo' in load_balance(). Imbalance value is often so small that any tasks cannot be moved to other cpus and, of course, this situation may be continued after we change the target cpu. So this patch move up affinity check code and clear LBF_ALL_PINNED before evaluating load value in order to mitigate useless redoing overhead. In addition, re-order some comments correctly. 2013-04-24sched: Don't consider other cpus in our group in case of NEWLY_IDLEJoonsoo Kim
Commit 88b8dac0 makes load_balance() consider other cpus in its group, regardless of idle type. When we do NEWLY_IDLE balancing, we should not consider it, because a motivation of NEWLY_IDLE balancing is to turn this cpu to non idle state if needed. This is not the case of other cpus. So, change code not to consider other cpus for NEWLY_IDLE balancing. With this patch, assign 'if (pulled_task) this_rq->idle_stamp = 0' in idle_balance() is corrected, because NEWLY_IDLE balancing doesn't consider other cpus. Assigning to 'this_rq->idle_stamp' is now valid. 2013-04-23clk: exynos5250: Fix parent clock for sclk_mmc{0,1,2,3}Tushar Behera
commit 688f7d8c9fef ("clk: exynos5250: Fix divider values for sclk_mmc{0,1,2,3}") incorrectly sets the divider for sclk_mmc{0,1,2,3} to fix the wrong clock value. Though this fixed issue with Arndale, it created regressions for other boards like Snow. On Exynos5250, sclk_mmc<n> is generated like below (as per the clock names in drivers/clk/samsung/clk-exynos5250.c) mout_group1_p ==> mout_mmc<n> ==> div_mmc<n> ==> div_mmc_pre<n> => sclk_mmc<n> Earlier div_mmc<n> was set as the parent for sclk_mmc<n>, hence div_mmc_pre<n> was not getting referred in kernel code and depending on its value set during preboot, sclk_mmc<n> value was different for various boards. Setting the correct clock generation path should fix the issues reported in above referenced commit. The changes committed during the earlier patch has also been reverted here. 2013-04-24DM RAID: Add message/status support for changing sync actionJonathan Brassow
DM RAID: Add message/status support for changing sync action This patch adds a message interface to dm-raid to allow the user to more finely control the sync actions being performed by the MD driver. This gives the user the ability to initiate "check" and "repair" (i.e. scrubbing). Two additional fields have been appended to the status output to provide more information about the type of sync action occurring and the results of those actions, specifically: <sync_action> and <mismatch_cnt>. These new fields will always be populated. This is essentially the device-mapper way of doing what MD controls through the 'sync_action' sysfs file and shows through the 'mismatch_cnt' sysfs file. 2013-04-24MD: Export 'md_reap_sync_thread' functionJonathan Brassow
MD: Export 'md_reap_sync_thread' function Make 'md_reap_sync_thread' available to other files, specifically dm-raid.c. - rename reap_sync_thread to md_reap_sync_thread - move the fn after md_check_recovery to match md.h declaration placement - export md_reap_sync_thread Signed-off-by: Jonathan Brassow <jbrassow@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: NeilBrown <neilb@suse.de>
2013-04-24md: don't update metadata when stopping a read-only array.NeilBrown
read-only arrays should stay that way as much as possible. Updating the metadata - which could be triggered by a re-add while assembling the array metadata - should be avoided. Signed-off-by: NeilBrown <neilb@suse.de>
2013-04-24md: Allow devices to be re-added to a read-only array.NeilBrown
When assembling an array incrementally we might want to make it device available when "enough" devices are present, but maybe not "all" devices are present. If the remaining devices appear before the array is actually used, they should be added transparently. We do this by using the "read-auto" mode where the array acts like it is read-only until a write request arrives. Current an add-device request switches a read-auto array to active. This means that only one device can be added after the array is first made read-auto. This isn't a problem for RAID5, but is not ideal for RAID6 or RAID10. Also we don't really want to switch the array to read-auto at all when re-adding a device as this doesn't really imply any change. So: - remove the "md_update_sb()" call from add_new_disk(). This isn't really needed as just adding a disk doesn't require a metadata update. Instead, just set MD_CHANGE_DEVS. This will effect a metadata update soon enough, once the array is not read-only. - Allow the ADD_NEW_DISK ioctl to succeed without activating a read-auto array, providing the MD_DISK_SYNC flag is set. In this case, the device will be rejected if it cannot be added with the correct device number, or has an incorrect event count. - Teach remove_and_add_spares() to be careful about adding spares when the array is read-only (or read-mostly) - only add devices that are thought to be in-sync, and only do it if the array is in-sync itself. - In md_check_recovery, use remove_and_add_spares in the read-only case, rather than open coding just the 'remove' part of it. 2013-04-24md/raid10: Allow skipping recovery when clean arrays are assembledMartin Wilck
When an array is assembled incrementally with mdadm -I -R and the array switches to "active" mode, md starts a recovery. If the array was clean, the "fullsync" flag will be 0. Skip the full recovery in this case, as RAID1 does (the code was actually copied from the sync_request() method of RAID1).
